i'd be interested in that 5770 if Celcoid isn't going to buy.

Celcoid offered 9 BTC.....if you offer 10 it is yours!

Hey Yochdog, I noticed you are using Deepbit - was just interested in your reasoning for this choice. (Not trying to start a flamewar or anything) It just seems to me that the associated fees might be something that would nibble into your business's profits, and I wondered how much the monthly difference revenue difference might be versus using some other pool. I assume you have explored other options, of course.  Grin

You certainly make a great point.....at this juncture, it is more about not wanting to take the time to change the setting on 30+ miners scattered around different locations, many without monitors.

I kind of figured it as a cost of doing business, figuring we are sacrificing 3 coins every 10 days or so.

I am sure one of these days I will get a wild hare up my a** and make the plunge in changing all the settings......have just been too focused on expansion for the last few months.

Yes, it totally goes against everything this community stands for.

1. Create a post about my 'business'
2. Collect coins
3. ?

Looks like we have another addition to the bitcoin 'business' dead pool.  My money is on one week until they disappear with investor's money.

Just wanted to gloat a bit over how ignorant this post was.  Smiley
1964  Economy / Goods / WTS 6950(sold), 5830(sold), 5770(sold) on: January 08, 2012, 09:31:20 PM
I have three GPU's for sale.

Here are the details:

Sapphire Radeon HD 5830:  This card was used flawlessly for about a month, and now it has been sitting in a corner for a few months.  In that time, the fan went bad (anyone have a clue how this happens?!)  Now the fan barely spins.  Anyway, the GPU is still fine, but it will need a fan repair before using it for anything more than running windows.  I will sell it for 10 BTC including shipping, OBO.

Sapphire Radeon HD 6950:  This card hashes like a maniac, but unfortunately one of the two fans only runs about 15%.  Since it has 2 fans, it still stays relatively cool, but I am not comfortable leaving it running.  I imagine someone with more knowhow than me can fix this issue.  This card was bought new in August.  I will sell it for 30 BTC including shipping, OBO.

MSI Radeon 5770:  This card is in flawless condition, works perfectly with no issues.  Dual fans is nice.  Used for 4 months at factory speeds to hash.  I will sell it for 10 BTC including shipping.

Ask any questions you want!
1965  Economy / Goods / Re: F/S 75 BTC: Radeon HD 5970's - excellent condition, known good, free ship on: January 08, 2012, 08:35:33 PM
are you willing to adjust the price in BTC to more accurately reflect the current exchange rate?

He's been on here successfully selling contracts for quite a while now without issue. Check his post history, that should be enough.

I have managed to get them stable at stock clock speeds within a new installation of windows.  Crossing my fingers that it continues working for a long time!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

1977  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling 5 Radeon HD 5970s (OEM and XFX Black Edition) on: December 30, 2011, 08:55:08 PM
As confirmation....

I have agreed to purchase 2 XFX 5970's (black edition) for 169 BTC.

http://blockexplorer.com/address/16VCs9SxFgpWruPW78F3f2wNV5N9j4ZACn

You agree to ship said cards to Boise, ID after confirmation of the transaction.

Thanks!

The deal went quite smoothly.....cards showed up packaged very carefully, and aside from a little cosmetic damage everything was fine.

Now running them at factory clocks and getting 600+ MH/s out of each.  Hoping they last a loooong time!

Thanks grubles!

The second core on your 5970 is toast... have a seen a few like that.  Not much you can do about it.

Have to agree that seems likely.

To confirm you can try doing a clean install of OS/drivers. Leave card at stock, run only 2nd core.  If you get the same hard locks & BSOD then the core is bad.

The way that AMD designs the cards is almost like 2 independent "sub cards" connected with an internal PCIe switch.  This means you can have 1 or 2 GPU fail and the other one work properly just like you can have 1 of 2 physical cards (say 2x 5870 in same rig) fail and the other work perfectly.

I am going to try this tonight.  Clean install from, the ground up.

Crossing my fingers that will fix it.

I have a couple 5970's that keep crashing my systems.  I am able to get one core rocking at 350 MH/s....but as soon as I start up the second core, everything freezes, the driver crashes, and sometimes there is a BSOD.

Anyone have a potential solution?

Win7 64-bit, 750W PSU, Sempron

Need more info.

IF you startup only the second core is there any problems?
IF you startup both at stock is there any problems?

Core temps look ok?  VRM temps?  (GPU-Z gives detailed VRM and other temp info)

I assume this is a clean install.  What driver version?  What miner?

How many total cards in the system? Just one?

Is there a monitor connected to this system? If so which GPU drives it (you can find it out by playing HD video on youtube and looking at GPU load monitor in GPU-Z)?

Yes, if only the second core, it all goes haywire.
Yes, everything is at stock at the moment.

Core temps look great.....60-70 range.  I will have to install GUP-z to get the VRM info.

Only one card.....this is my test bed system.

It is an existing install.  Using the latest ATI CCC version.  Using GUIminer.

The monitor is connected to the 5970.
