Ok ok! Jeez. No need to get mad. There is no God! There. Happy? We're agreed.

Meh? Not getting mad at you.

And my problem is about how BADecker talks and decide arbitrarily that this is truth and this is not...
1962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2016, 03:45:25 PM

What are you doing here? you're trying to talk about trading and btc price?
Hey! Here it's not a thread for that! It's a thread for... Oh wait...
1963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Finnish TV Instructs Women in Self-Defence - Video on: February 11, 2016, 03:31:36 PM
Well, I like those expandable batons. Very handy and very effective if used correctly. But if the security situation in Europe gets much worse I guess people will simply get themselves handguns.

Nah don't think so.
Handguns are really not in European culture you know. And let's be honest, a handgun is not really more efficient that a taser for example.

I'd rather have a taser or a pepper spray you know, less chance to do anything lethal and same chance to defend myself (more or less) ^^

Simple is best. One blow from a baton and an attacker loses all interest in you. To the head and all his interests are most likely in the afterlife thereafter. I donīt have a baton myself but know someone who does and trust me this is a very effective weapon for defense and offense if needed.

What is this baton your talking about? Can we have a picture or a link or something like that cause I can't see it ^^
1964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: February 11, 2016, 03:30:15 PM
I am not saying eth is pump and dump scam like op, it has many revolutionary ideas, that can be taken and used by others, which it is
vitalik butterin is brilliant imo

however, does anyone who is buying ethereum actually know how many ethereum there will be and each year?
I do
99% of people don't I feel and the info is hard to come by
plus it's not a 'coin' in the truest sense, has many applications and should be quite valuable but is seems people are treating eth value like they are buying apple stock lol, like it will go up on who adopts uses, not gonna work like that

I feel cap will come down considerably when reality sinks in

That's totally true!

Etherum was marketed like a new bitcoin, another altcoin in fact.
Whereas Etherum has not much to do with the concept of cryptocurrencies! It's really differently made and for different purposes!

what these dumb morons don't get is they need to be an IT coder person to use this etherieuem platform/coin. they would need to know how to executing the command line. type and execute something wrong and they will lose all their etherioom. LOL

these dumb morons must not realize there are ton of other platforms out there right now. i just hope these platforms will be much better to understand and ease of use than this get rich quick scam eatariem
heck, shitcoins like bitbay, blackhalo, bithalo platform or other coins probably already have much better smart contracts than this get rich quick etherieum.

Well eth is done. It was a good idea to invest in it like 3 months ago in order to take the profit of the current pump. But now it's the end of their world and they know it! Grin
1965  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: February 11, 2016, 03:29:02 PM
blockchain.info is a very popular online wallet is also very easy to make.

blockchain.info is my favorit wallet, easy to use and safe Smiley

It might be, but the hack attempt was so powerful that many lost their coins from their wallets.
So, multibit or electrum are good ones as both are desktop wallets.

Use a strong second factor I cannot stress this enough.  I really like Yubikey as it as it's a great physical token to log in.   If you are just using one password and not 2fa your chances of being hacked are much greater.

With good 2fa even if bad guy has password it should not give then access to your account.

Yeah 2factors authentification is the ONLY protection that can't get hacked unless you get your phone stolen!!

It protected me already twice, I got mails saying I attempted a connection but failed 2fa (which I didn't) so I know for sure it's mandatory ^^
1966  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2016, 03:26:44 PM

The main advantages of Ethereum over Bitcoin is that people in control are qualified and expected to not screw everything, unlike Core people.

You must be oblivious to the development crisis's and mistakes in Ethereum and the flight of developers from that project.

I think its main advantage could be that the founder of the project is still there and functions as a "natural consensus". Also its good that his identity is known.

Apart from that ETH could get the same problems and civilwars that Bitcoin is experiencing.

Good point.

All this cultist crap around Satoshi is not healthy.

Have to admit sometimes it's a bit worrying...

"Hey what if we do that"
"Satoshi didn't invent bitcoin for that"
"Yeah but that would be cool no?"
"It's not what Satoshi wanted"

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeh...

1968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Syrian "refugee" attempts to rape 8-year old Danish girl on: February 11, 2016, 03:14:41 PM

Yes, and also we're to blame because Adam and Eve ate an apple "6.000" years ago. Same logic. Makes sense.

Ahah! No the difference is the sin of Adam and Eve caused nothing else than a god to get mad.

Our colonisation and the steal of all ressources (which we continue to do btw, so it's not exactly only our "past" actions) caused damage and the current consequences of those damages are the migrants.

That's a true advantage to got a leader indeed... It prevents any divisions of point of view or of development as long as he's not making too crazy decisions.
Don't be too harsh, in BTC we have leaders also!

Adam "I were the first to heard about Satoshi but thought he was a moron" Back, and Greg "I am smarter than everyone else but have no clue about economics" Maxwell are our great leaders!

Dang you're not reassuring me buddy...

There are advantages to multiple of the best development minds maintaining bitcoin in consensus. Ethereum investors are going to be in for a rollercoaster when the token starts being used in the wild and Vitalik sets off the bomb to switch from PoW to an untested (in the real world) PoS.

It is one hell of a gamble for a future in which their are no good use cases for the token.

True, but that question is more about the whole way Eth was even conceived...

...

The greater complexity has more order within it.
...

Chaos can be quite complex.

Chaos Theory can be complex. There is no real chaos. Everything acts according to the laws of nature as cause and effect dictate. Chaos, like randomness, exist only in the minds of people who can't see (understand) the reason why.

Smiley

So now you are going to dismiss reality because it is conflicting with your ancient world view.

Cause and effect shows that there is no real chaos. Chaos theory is not necessarily about chaos.

Chaos theory is theory; it has not been proven to be true. Cause and effect is truth. In fact, cause and effect are the basis for scientific examination and discovery.

Why are trying to turn reality into fiction and fiction into reality?

Smiley

Could you just do ONE thing so we can settle this whole discussion?

Define how YOU decide a theory is true. Then we'll be able to discuss. Cause all you're saying is "the laws that makes my point are true, the others are just theories".
1971  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Christians hate Atheists? on: February 11, 2016, 03:07:43 PM
Maybe if they'll print it in the Bible. That would make him believe it. It would be the ultimate proof for him.

Problem is that they cannot reconcile evolution with Bible because according to it, God created man in his own image.

Well, if we share common ancestor with chimpanzees than that ancestor must have been God.  And he is the one who created universe.
Straight out of Africa :-) Even that will not make sense, because they say God created, not descended.  But then again what can you expect
from bronze age God.

Those Christians who accept evolution are not really Christians, more like Pantheists, they are on the road to Atheism.

I was brought up in Roman Catholic religion, never payed attention to religion dogma, just went along for the sake of family and friends.
I suspect most religious people follow religion for similar reasons.

What really opened my eyes was not the Bible but Quran.  Because of the problems in Middle East, I started reading Quran just out of curiosity.
What a bunch of poetic nonsense? Then I turned to Bible.  It was worse, especially the Old Testament.

How can religious people follow this nonsense?  Fear.  Fear of being rejected by their family and friends.  For those super delusional, fear of going to hell,
fear of not going to heaven etc.  Emotional center of their brain is shutting down the logical part.  It is a survival instinct.  We avoid what we perceive to be a dangerous situation.  That mechanism helped us be who we are today:  Home Sapiens. The great African Ape that rules the world.

Problem is that they cannot reconcile the Bible with the Bible. There are so many contradictions in there I don't even know where to start.

You can start here Grin
http://infidels.org/library/modern/jim_meritt/bible-contradictions.html

Yeah, it was rhetorical. But I'm sure our religious friends will ignore the link whatsoever. Because it might just prove them wrong.

Most people would stop at the creation story:

Day 1: Sky, Earth, light (worked in the dark for most of day 1, Earth before stars? I guess because Earth was the center of the universe :-))
Day 2: Water, both in ocean basins and above the sky(just like that, no atmosphere)
Day 3: Plants (they are special one's, they don't need Sun light)
Day 4: Sun, Moon, stars (as calendar and navigational aids)  (finally the Sun and other stars, poor plants, they had to wait)
Day 5: Sea monsters (whales), fish, birds, land animals, creepy-crawlies (reptiles, insects, etc.) (skipped bacteria and single cell organisms, I guess no microscopes were available in bronze age, so God did not know they existed)
Day 6: Humans (apparently both sexes at the same time, why not, you need sex, more on that in the rest of the book)
Day 7: Nothing (the Gods took the first day off and has been silent ever since)

The worst part is probably after the end of Eden when they all fuck with each other in an infamous incest story cause you know Eve is the only woman and she gives birth to boys only sooooooooo...
1972  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Christians hate Atheists? on: February 11, 2016, 03:04:43 PM

Or take a car for example. The car is complex. But the people who made it are way more complex.

There are so extremely many of examples of less complexity coming from greater complexity, and no examples of greater complexity coming from lesser complexity, that this is a law of the universe... at least until someone proves it wrong. They need to start by finding even one example.
...

That is why paying attention in biology class pays off.

I have two questions for you:

Do you know we are mammals? yes or no, please?

Do you know that we have a common ancestor with chimpanzees? yes or no, please?

I'm assuming you acknowledge the evolution since you are claiming God programmed it.

If you accept that live evolves from simpler live forms, you accept that life becomes more complex over time.

These are not necessarily yes or no questions.

We are considered mammalian by many.

Nobody has scientific proof that we have common ancestry with chimpanzees.

Life changes in some ways. The definition of evolve or evolution has only been assumed so far, but has not been given.

Smiley

You mean apart from genetics and physical caracteristics?

Well what do you want as proofs. We've got all the evidence you need you just have to ask!

The evidence can be interpreted in other ways. Because of this, it is not really evidence.

Smiley

LOL!

Ok how do you interprete the fact that we got all those similarities with Chimpanze?
1973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 11, 2016, 03:01:06 PM
Nicely stated. Very good! Now see if you replace The Big Bang Theory (which is also a great show btw) with God and see how the pieces fall exactly the same way.

Scientific laws that, when combined, are proof for the existence of God:
1. Cause and effect;
2. Complex universe;
3. Universal entropy.

Smiley

Again we're coming back to that...
How are those three laws proven for you?
Why those particular aspects of science seem true for you?

Because those laws are proven with less precision than quantum physics right now...

Whoops, I'm max leverage long! Cheesy

Wow, may I follow your trades somewhere? :3

thought about opening your own speculation thread?
1976  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: February 10, 2016, 02:06:40 PM

Absolutely. This consideration proves to not be a consideration when examined in the light of science.

Smiley

Wow, seems you got to teach me some science then...

The guy knows what the word entropy means, so watch out  Roll Eyes

Well from what I saw on previous thread, he THINKS he know but he doesn't ^^
1977  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Christians hate Atheists? on: February 10, 2016, 02:04:25 PM
At the same time, we're not in the 1300's anymore. Things are different. Time are different. We know more and we take pride in being more open minded. Now if Christians are also contemporary, modern people, like us then they should accept this. If not, then they all should move to a remote island and pray and do whatever they want to each other.
We leave you alone, you leave us alone. Stop imposing your ideas upon other people. There are libraries and the internet now. Curious people can inform themselves if they want and choose the right lifestyle without being "helped".

Actually, people are just the same. We can tell, because we have paintings from the 1300s. We can compare what people looked like back then with what they look like now.

Since people are just the same, it stands to reason that many of them are simply changing their religion... just like many people did back in the 1300s. The minor difference is that now days we have the religion of science that people are turning to. The religion of atheism has been around for thousands of years.

Smiley

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude... You're actually saying that because people are physically the same (which is not true) they're all the same?

This amount of stupidity starts bothering me, you sure you don't have a brain cancer or something like that? You checked? Embarrassed

There you go, mixing up what I said. Let me explain.

We have heads, arms, legs, torsos, hands and feet. We live in a world of plants and animals, and rocks and seas. Why do you think that people in the 1300s were different? You can see from the paintings and the few books we have from back then, that people were just the same as we are. They had heads, arms, legs, torsos, hands and feet. They live in a world of plants and animals, and rocks and seas.

The amount of deception you have would bother me if we didn't have government already doing it, long time before you were around.

Since people of the 1300s are the same as we are today, we have the same needs as they did. Some of those needs are religion. People have simply done what people often have done for thousands of years... changed their religion. In addition to the standard religions that are formally known as religion, we now have the new religion of modern science, and the ancient religion of atheism has grown in recent years.

Why are you acting like you are more ignorant than you are?

Smiley

Maybe religion is one of your needs but not of mine buddy.

Stop blatering shit, people are incredibly different from the ones that existed 700 years ago!

You prove that you are deep into religion. How do you prove it? By what I write in the following paragraph.

People are not incredibly different than people who existed 700 years ago. I have show that they are the same. You have not shown that they are different even though you say it. Thus, you have faith in something that is not true, but might be if you could come up with some facts. This is the way religion acts.

The difference in modern people over people from the past is, in general we are slightly devolved from what they were, due to entropy.

Smiley

Proved? The only thing you proved is that we got the same biological composition... Well what a proof!

Our mind evolved a lot between the two ><
1978  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: February 10, 2016, 01:59:11 PM

Absolutely. This consideration proves to not be a consideration when examined in the light of science.

Smiley

1979  Other / Politics & Society / Re: On Paper, Italy Allows Abortions, but Few Doctors Will Perform Them on: February 10, 2016, 01:58:13 PM
Sure, disproportion amount.
What adjectives do you use for the capital deflection from capital investments then? Around 40% of the PIB goes directly in the pocket of investors. Doesn't it seem like "a disproportion amount drained compared to their population"?
in plain english please

Can't help you much more...

Investors (mainly banks) through capital take back 40% of the PIB on average.
Don't you feel it's disproportionate relative to the number of their population?
1980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 10, 2016, 01:55:32 PM

Notice the words "new theories." Theories are fun, intriguing things that might be great ideas, but are not known to be facts. People can invent theories all day long.

You mean like theory of gravity. LOL...

The existence of a force that we call gravity is not a theory. The theory part has to do with what exactly gravity is.

Smiley

Nah.

We know exactly what gravity is. Distorsion of time and space through masses.

We might be wrong of course, but we know what it is.
