if you guys wanna ask yourself what happened its greed.  str8 up Sad
when all you people want is $$$, this happens.
selling a 1080ti to Nicehash for 1.50 a day BEFORE power, geez i thought this board had MINERS... not just penny whores

the MINERS left in 2017, now its just Nicehash whores, selling for w.e they can get

RIP mining, death by yall of our greed.   blame the 25-500+ 1080ti guys

deleted you due to name calling

also I have 13 cards and if they all point to nice hash and earn 20 before power

and  9 after power that is still a 270 a month profit.

My gear is paid off.

I have sold my  gear lower then any else on this site.

I have mined a few shit coins and I am holding them.

SO if I choose to earn 9 a day after power cost there is not a thing wrong with that.

If I point to bis which I have done so and earned BIS which are hodl thats okay too.
if I point to rvn which I have done so and earned RVN which are hodl that is fine.

if I cashed gear out in Jan of this year at lower prices then anyone on this board that was fine.

calling people whores on my thread is not fine.

and to blame people with 25 to 500 + gpu guys is simply not the case.

bitmain and innosilcion built and mined with asics in secret for months.

and fpga guys mined in secret for years.

plus nvidia allowed mining cards to be built.

all this has caused the collapse.

Now I am sitting fine all my gear is paid off.
and I can have idle gear and not have to sell it.
I can also look for a shit coin to mine and hodl

or I can simply pull in 9 a day in profit with those 1080ti's since they are paid off.
19702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 01, 2018, 02:14:20 PM

when gpus are turned to  dust by asics the markets crash because asic builders build  asics like mad and sell them as fast as they can.

then low cost power people buy gear like mad.

pretty much the cycle .

over and over.

Exactly this.  It all comes down to your cost of power.  The only miners left with be the large farmers and those that don't pay or pay very little for electricity.

this was a nice run for gpu's

sad that it is over.

Maybe the rendering projects will take off.

So I have  13x 1080ti's left

eth enlargement pill does work and the cards are actually turning a profit using it.

here are 3 1080ti's on eth
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

here are 6 1080ti's on zec and lyra2rev2

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

I have 4 idle 1080ti's soon to go to eth
19703  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Squeeze is comin! [official thread for panicking] on: July 01, 2018, 01:59:45 PM
Sidehack,

In your five years of mining, was there any time that you turned off your miners because it was not profitable? How much are you paying for kwh? Do you also get ding with distribution and transmission charges? It seems that lots of people talk about kwh but they don't take distribution and transmission charges into account.

most of us include all costs in the number we give.

so my winter power is 13.7 cents
my summer power is   16.7 cents

I include all power company numbers in these numbers

I also make more adjustments.

I say my winter bill is 10 cents as I save large money on heating
I say my summer bill is 18 cents as I spend extra on ac

And at the moment  my only miner in house is a 3 card 1080ti miner as it earns 5.50 usd a day and costs about 2.88 usd in power each day.

I do have miners at the solar array
19704  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / WARNING WARNING WARNING! about asgard sales something is up on: July 01, 2018, 01:50:41 PM

I don't know. I'm just as puzzled about this whole thing as any of you currently are.

I'm going to report haggsfins post in the sm thread as spam (because it actually is LOL) hopefully ck or frodocooper agree and remove it at least we wont have a ringing endorsement there.

I disagree. While it is indeed out of character for both NotFuzzyWarm and HagssFIN to be seemingly endorsing Asgard Mining this prematurely (whether explicitly or implicitly), deleting their posts would amount to censorship. We already have Asgard Mining censoring their own thread; I would very much like to avoid stooping to their level.

Also, the onus is on any potential customer to conduct their own due diligence before purchasing from Asgard Mining. The most that can reasonably be expected of us in this situation is simply to provide sufficient warning regarding the risks of purchasing from Asgard Mining. I'm convinced that this thread and the one in Scam Accusations constitute adequate warning.

There is therefore no reason, in my opinion, for -ck and myself to begin censoring asgardmint's thread, even if for the benevolent purpose of removing questionable endorsements from NotFuzzyWarm and HagssFIN.

I nevertheless marked your report as Handled as a concession. The appropriate action to be taken would have been to mark it as a Bad report.

On that note, there may be a remote possibility that HagssFIN was merely being sarcastic.

I also thought this could be true.
I also thought that both fuzzy and hags had compromised accounts.
I also thought  that both of them were paid off.
I also thought that were are held hostage and being told to write that.

I finally thought that I simply do not know WTF is up with the thread.

I TAGGED HIM AS A SCAMMER SO I WILL NOT REQUEST A DEMO MINER FROM HIM AS THAT IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

However if the op offers some demos to others and shows he has a 0.052 watt miner to sell I will remove my tag.

OP has yet to send me any pm's or emails so I simply say to all

So far, besides the normal red lights (better, faster, cheaper from a company nobody has heard about - posted by newbie accounts), I've seen 2 other red flags:

1)  Someone Google imaged search one of the executives and found an exact match for a guy in Odessa, Urkraine with a different name.  Faking photos is not something a legitamate company would do.

2)  The other thread on this in this section is self moderated and HIGHLY edited.  Ask about demo units for review purposes and your post gets deleted.

I really like this manufacturer, I mean this must be the most perfect thing ever.

For a start - wrong area folks! That is hardware - not software... Requested the mods to move this to Mining Speculation for now.

So far gotta say this looks promising. Aside from being a company no one has heard of before I do not get any red flags yet -- and as folks who know me here will testify that is a VERY rare statement for me to make. edit: This may change of course as more info comes out.

Went to their site and in Chat asked the all-important question: Can these run on any sha256D pool or is asicboost support required. Answer is they run on ANY sha256d pool. Damn fine start.

Seriously thinking about ordering one to try out/review.
I really like this manufacturer, I mean this must be the most perfect thing ever.

looks to me like you could not have possibly said this.

@ mods  WTF  is going on here?

For me  I am working at getting solar expansion since I have a 73 acre piece of land from and investor with some money.  I have buysolar as a solar guy

our goal will be to develop this and  to develop a 900-1200 watt solar setup for a little guy

both projects  shoud do well in this climate of low margins.

so youre gonna be selling pickaxes and shovels. not a bad strategy at all Smiley

Can't a 1200 watt setup already be purchased for a couple of thousand dollars?

over 2200  which is not the price point we want to do this for.

a 1500 dollar setup that runs an L3+ or a 2 board s9

makes a lot of non profitable gear earn a profit.

the l3+ is earning about  0.02475 ltc a day that is 2 bucks a day  so in 2-3 years  the solar is paid off.

Since the solar has a long life time of over 10 years a 1500 dollar system should work for miners.

at adaseb  mining asics always slides to low profit as asics are a one trick pony power to coin and no other use.

gpu's were working hard during the two big booms
2013 and 2016 to very early 2018

when gpus are turned to  dust by asics the markets crash because asic builders build  asics like mad and sell them as fast as they can.

then low cost power people buy gear like mad.

pretty much the cycle .

over and over.

Can look up letine on Alibaba. https://leiqing.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-806058575/Miner_Components.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.88.22.49bd2501MHc5CM

i don't see the point of ASICS saving power as well. Not bashing here but ASICS saving power i can't comprehend. People would just end up buying more asics and hash and in the end what you will have would be same or more power consumption with higher network hashrate and difficulty. Profit would simply readjust and be the same in times like this. ASICS in general i feel is sort of like a nuclear arms race.

The only time i see asics being a viable choice would be perhaps a portfolio diversification where you have x amount of GPU and require x amount of asics to balance your mining venture.

well  that is why asics suck.

if you are all asics  the game becomes power cost

and  cheapest power = winner winner chicken diner.

Gpus were nice  because they had an after life and other purposes besides mining.

As for fpga tech  mixed with  gpus  long run = loser
Short run  they can work.

I can not stress any more  then this  there were millions and millions and millions of gpus that had the ability to make some money.

Killing that off  destroys mining eventually.  Since you kill off the widespread customer base.

For me  I am working at getting solar expansion since I have a 73 acre piece of land from and investor with some money.  I have buysolar as a solar guy

IMO the people who are against ZCash's decision more than likely haven't read the ballot or don't understand what is going on.  Zcash isn't welcoming asics, they are simply saying they are not prioritizing switching the algo to resist them.  In fact I think the road they are going down will be interesting.  By 2020 they want to have their own thermodynamic efficient algo that they will post open hardware specifications for.  It would be like the Open Compute equivalent of an asic miner.  If we are also being honest with ourselves its not like the Z9 is some power-hogging contraption that sounds like a jet taking off.  This thing outperforms a 1080ti by 14x with virtually the same power usage. Not to mention its $850, not much different than the price of a gtx1080ti.  Out of all of the miners bitmain has made recently, I think this is the hardest one to argue against.

As for the founder's reward, say what you will but you only need to compare the price to the forked coin that removed the fee. $156 vs $7

If zec does not collapse and does well asics save zero power.

If you don’t understand that power savings is always short term it’s cool.

If you do understand that asics don’t save power and are lying it is also cool.

I understand why asics are an issue as bitmain and innosilicon can simply build and sell .

We are witnessing just that an historic build and sell move by the two companies.

Since the companies can do this and we see it now it means any coin can be crushed btc is crushed due to endless asics being sold.

Which means power is not saved which is why I wrote this reply.

If you see my first post my goal is cheap power no more no less.

Only cheap power works for miners all the time.

How can you say they save zero power?  to get the same performance on 1080tis it would take 3 Kw.  The Z9 uses 300 w.  To get the same performance on Nvidia you would spend $10k just for the hardware, not to mention the rest of the components needed.

When you say a coin is crushed, what do you mean?  unprofitable to mine?  Really I think this is the major disconnect and why zcash has a committee to make decisions like this.  Most miners don't care about anything but profitability, which is natural.  But do you think the average bitcoin holder mines or cares about people making money from mining?  No.

As for the cheap power, there are other aspects such as space, heat, management, and noise. Even if electricity is free there will come a time when you run out of space, have issues with heat, and possibly worry about noise.

I said that if zec does not collaspe  the asic miners will save no money.

if you truly don't understand this I am sorry for you.
if you do understand and are trolling I am sorry for you.

I would like for you to take my point of view and explain why I said what I said.

If you can't do that it is okay
If you won't do it it is okay.

well he did say fpga's were stealth mining. in his interview

which means some people  made unreal money  from sept to December 2017

my gut tells me  if you don't have these already you are well behind the curve.

just like most mining gear you get it too late.

I would say  in all the years I have mined 2011 to 2018

I got gpus early for the 2016-2017 runup

and I got knc early for 2013 runup.

and that was it.

I have to think bitmain will have a lot of these running very soon.

I worked with pjs 16 card (1060) build in march of 2018  and he is launching a 16 fpga build for august it will do 224000 for monero7 using fpgas and only 2500 watts.

vegas do 2000  so his build will be like 112 vegas  cost 60k.

100 units up for sale.  my gut is this tech is too late for us

And if I owned 20% of all the zec in the world

i would feel my wealth has slipped a lot since December

so why not welcome asics for a price boost.
