19721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypto Rush - Crypto to Crypto exchange on: March 26, 2014, 09:33:25 AM
I noticed something was up with this exchange because the prices for all the coins were inflated.

Then after some reading I realised people are selling all their BTC into whatever they can get so they can withdraw those coins since BTC withdraws are halted.

I bought some DOGE at 15% higher than market prices and got the hell out.

19724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: March 25, 2014, 01:11:49 AM
Great thread so far guys, keep it up!

I'm just getting started with scrypt-adaptive here, feels like scrypt all over again, doesn't it?  Grin

Here's my findings so far on a pair of Asus R7 260x's. Bonaire's a pain in the rear as usual. I'll post for my 7870LE's, 6950, 7950's, 7850's, and R9 290's as I figure them all out and optimize them. I thought I'd work on Bonaire first since there's not much info out there.

I'm mining with CGMinerAleks_NR3, as I can't get anything to work on these Bonaire cards with Vertminer 0.5.3.

Here's my .bat:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o x -u x -p x --failover-only -o x -u x -p x --no-submit-stale --gpu-platform 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 20 --lookup-gap 4 --gpu-threads 1 --gpu-fan 65 --thread-concurrency 14208 --gpu-engine 1200 --gpu-memclock 1800 --gpu-powertune 20

This nets me around 117khs per card. No HW errors. Strangely I got the best results with one thread and a lookup gap of 4. It looks like these cards can be pretty energy efficient if you have enough of them going, but I wouldn't run out and buy a bunch of them. They only pull about 250khs on normal scrypt.

If this helps anybody, feel free to tipmeh!!!  Cheesy

VTC - VaLt5ZKjorSb5mdLfzDvCbiznpxkaFwgWS

only config that works for me

thanks!

Excellent software

Just wondering is it possible to mine coins based on difficulty that are not yet listed on CoinChoose?
19726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin sCrypt | new Client v1.2 | NOW ON MINTPAL! on: March 21, 2014, 04:05:37 AM
AVOID USING pool: http://btcs.broken-arrow.pl THE TRANSACTION ARE STUCK AT UNCONFIRMED FOR OVER 12 HOURS ALREADY. CANT GET A HOLD OF THE OWNER!!!!!!!!
19727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] ipoMiner - Profitable multipool targeting new coins on: March 20, 2014, 07:59:45 PM
When does your pool switch to BTCS?

I noticed that when the difficulty becomes low, it stays low only for a couple minutes and then spikes right back up to ~500 or so.

~500 Diff is definately not worth mining. Worth minin when <~150 or so but it rarely stays at the difficulty for long.
19728  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Nearly burned down my home due to mining farm (tips on how to stay safe ) on: March 18, 2014, 08:42:12 AM
Looks like its not the computer equipment or GPU that started the fire but instead a poorly designed ASIC cube.

At first I thought it was a PSU that melted but thats an ASIC cube probably made somewhere with no regulations for safety.

19729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 17, 2014, 07:31:27 PM
Listen it is not normal for AUR to tank this low. This is clearly a sign to stand clear.

This is not pull back or slight profit tanking, its a clear sign that something isn't right.

19730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast | ASIC resistant | Multipool resistant | no-premine on: March 14, 2014, 02:08:18 AM
You should mine as much of this coin as you can while the difficulty is low because its 5x as much profit as middlecoin ATM

Sell everything right now.

I got in early at the lower difficulty but even at this difficulty and current bids, the coin is about 50% more profitable then mining doge coin.

Hello

Could you post your cgminer config file also?

Thanks

I know this is an old thread but I just got an 6990.

Very powerful card, so powerful it over heats in seconds unless overclocked.

I tried undervolting and running at 880/150 but I get 60Khash/s. Any idea what I am doing incorrectly?

19737  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Outdoor Mining Rig on: March 08, 2014, 10:37:18 PM
Its pretty much spring and the issue with heat will be a problem. I live in an apartment with Free Electricity and it has a balcony and I want to take advantage of the balcony by putting my mining rig outside.

The outside temperature will ALWAYS be colder than the inside temperature and also it won't heat my apartment and my wife will be happy that the noise is gone.

Did anybody experiment with an outdoor rig?

Basically it would have to be completely enclosed and sealed to prevent dust and insects from getting inside. It would have to have intake and exhaust fans with an air filter.

It rarely rains in my area so rain isn't an issue. However as a safety percussion a beach style umbrella could be mounted on top.

Any examples? Any ideas out there?

I tried everything and the 4th GPU would never work in Xubuntu

I tried BAMT out of curosity and all 4 GPUs worked right away, no jumping needed.

What OS are you using?

For some reason I can't get 4 or more GPUs to work on this motherboard in Xubuntu

Basically whenever I plug in the 4th GPU in any slot, as soon as xubuntu starts it stops loading.

Has anybody managed to get 4 or more GPUs to work in linux?
