So I have an idea I would like to toss into the community to get a feel for what you guys think about it.
The idea is to setup a web site that would be similar to kickstarter, propsper, or some other crowd or micro funding web site. So what do you guys say? Should I start work on this?
Thanks -Joshua
So to answer your question (since the thread was hijacked) - looks like it's been done already.

Hi Stephen,
I can respect what you are saying. The site is currently gift-based crowdfunding like kickstarter. We will be adding some contact information to the website to add some level of trust.
All funds are kept in segregated Bitcoin account, and we have taken a variety of steps to ensure that funds are stored in a secure fashion. We believe that our policies around these areas will evolve with time. The real test is time, I do not expect that this website will be an immediate success. I think it will take time, and there will we need to be feedback from the community regarding our services. I am in this for the long haul.
We believe that Bitcoin needs a service like this, even if ours doesn't take off. Of course, we would like to be the vendor of choice. We saw a gap, we are trying to do our best to fill it.
Specific suggestions on how to address these areas would be appreciated. Would it help if the service allowed you to launch your project with your own BitCoin project address, rather than keeping the funds in escrow. Then the issue of security is isolated to that user? That has it's own issues, but perhaps in the beginning this would be the best approach?
In other words, there is no guarantee that you won't run off once you've accumulated a large number of coins.

I'm done with this. You're a liar and you're very rude. I did what you asked by posting a partial record of the work done and of course you're still rude and dishonest. But you know what? My investor is still with me and I'm still getting requests for investigations to be done. So I'm moving on. I suggest you do the same. Or not. I don't care at this point.
Dude, he has said his side and you have stated yours. People have made up their mind by now and continuing this makes you look less professional. You can't please everyone. Just ignore him and move on.

Im not nuts i just need help i didnt say no to the offer. the orders arent open yet as why i put the btcjam listing up in hopes it could be funded before they open #3. i have 5+ btc as i have been saving up since i missed out on batch #2. didn't think they would come up this soon. it would take me ~200 days to pay him off with the btcjam loan i can get the hardware and payback sooner so... thats why i said not really
You're posting here that you were going to be using the hardware to pay back a loan. So you DID want the Avalon to mine with. Seems like we know you better than you know yourself.

Check your power settings in the control panel. Your system is probably set up to power down some component after 20 mins.
You shouldn't need any flag in that program - I use it with default settings with my 7970 just fine.

taking advantage of a situation = greed
Come on. You wanted to purchase an Avalon and take advantage of its high hashing rate. You are just as greedy. i highly doubt that u dont know me so why keep sayin shat u have no idea why i wanted one it sure as hell aint for a greedy reason if i were greedy i dont think i would be here trying to help some understand Are you saying you were going to buy an Avalon and NOT use it to hash? Stop being stupid. You wanted to buy an Avalon because they can produce more coins faster. That is greed.

It might open again, I think they are abandoned sales carts. People changing their minds or something else entirely is going on, I dont see why though. If you were that close why would you back outat the last second??
I dont back out, but dont see anyone willing to loan me.. Yup, it was out of stock again before.. They maybe add 100 units every hour or so, or its abandoned carts as you said I would help you out, but you need at least 25% of the value yourself before I would be interested.

wow, are really going to go on a quest to destroy my rep because i embellished how long ago i bought domain names...... wow. Looks like someone is having a abad day.
I'm certainly not on a quest and I'm not destroying your rep dude. Just letting people know that you lie. Don't you think that's important? When you type something in a thread, people might take your word on it, which they shouldn't do.

Thanks, im sure its obvious im new to selling domains... :C thank you guys for the advice, and for all those interested in 59 days ill repost. You're also a liar, and everyone should be aware of this from this point on.

ps. If you are interested i got up for sale 2 domains (novacoin.org & rucoin.us) so it can be a trade. You can take one of them at the avalon's price I'm out. Those domains aren't worth $100, much less several thousand.

not really, but if thats what it takes to help change my life i may have to.
Why not? Nothing is different - you will still have the hardware the day it ships. You just have to trust me (a user with over 1,300 posts) instead of me trusting you - a newbie. You should probably cancel the btcjam listing since you no longer need it.

Imagine that ... a thread focused on its subject.

I will purchase the Batch #3 Avalon for you. When you send me the 25btc + 2% interest, I will transfer the sale over to you.
Sound good?
