1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TED - Talk - Why Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2011, 03:56:11 PM
Nah, just use http://get-tedpad.com/ and fill in some additional words... Wink

hahaha, oh god where has that link been all my life.
1982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you doing business selling goods or services for bitcoins? on: June 29, 2011, 03:54:59 PM
I am trying out Podcast Services for your Earhole.  The cost, $0

http://soundcloud.com/bitcoinporn (MP3 can be downloaded from that page). - Backed up on YouTube

Second episode is already in the works with a very probable guest right form the Newbies forum, kinks are still being worked out in the background Smiley
1983  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Waffles.fm invites for 0.2 BTC on: June 29, 2011, 03:50:54 PM
Wow, now that is valuable (honestly, if I supported this type of trade, I would buy this just to give to someone, but I do not know this person and all accounts involved with this situation could all be deleted rather quickly)

Illegal of course, but highly valuable.  Get in on this before it gets locked people, Waffles is second to What.cd as far as music choices imo, but nothing compares to either site (if you remember OiNK people, it basically has become these two sites)
1984  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitCams.com | Now accepting shares | MAY CONTAIN ADULT CONTENT on: June 29, 2011, 03:49:08 PM
lol @ MarkM's post.  Classic Porn SEO.  No doubt is an old school Black Hat World person Wink   The old ways do not work, and I'm sure you are happier they do not.   You are the first authentic post in this thread I would call as someone working in the industry as successful.

Conversions is the name of the game now and I think it just makes for better content for everybody Smiley
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you prefer more - Sex or Bitcoins? on: June 29, 2011, 03:44:59 PM
Sex does not earn me Bitcoins (just me, if you browse the forums you'll find otherwise).  So the one that can get me the other is the better.
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.0325 BTC up for grabs - Round 2 on: June 29, 2011, 03:26:05 PM
Oh boy, a chance to win something and a bunch of coded text in a post, this speaks highly to me.... and to every single person on the board lol
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The richest users on the bitcoin forum on: June 29, 2011, 03:24:28 PM
Awesome.  I think people need checks like this every so often to make sure they know how anonymous their shit is.

I mean, we all know it, but sometimes a reminder like this one, which initially hurts no one, is what we need.

Also, thanks for the link back, I'm sure it is in there for no good reason, but whatever lol
1988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TED - Talk - Why Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2011, 03:22:33 PM
With our vast borg like resources, and initiative I think we can arrange a great TED talk.
For, based on this alone.
1989  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: To the owner of http://www.flexcoin.com/ on: June 29, 2011, 03:20:22 PM
I thought the big draws of Bitcoin is the privacy.

Either way, the person is putting themselves out there in the social media world, why must you know their private information to do business with them?

Also, I am only playing devil's advocate here, I personally would of course not trust that shit, but to say that is not trustworthy only because the person wishes to remain private, that is wrong.
1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving away Demonoid invites for Bitcoins on: June 29, 2011, 03:16:49 PM
Why would a Demonoid invite be something to be desirable?

Great site. I love it. But they have little to no exclusive files, so in my eyes it is worse than using a public tracker.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay removing Bitcoin listings... on: June 29, 2011, 02:59:04 PM
Can you put up a listing selling a USB stick with a wallet.dat file, with a link pointing to a blockexplorer.com adress showing how many bitcoin are currently in that address? eBay likely won't find it if there is no mention of Bitcoin, and those in the know will know what they are buying and how much is in there.

If my eBay account wasn't banned already, I would try this out.
1992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Show on OnlyOneTV.com on: June 29, 2011, 02:57:34 PM
I am the guy paying $1200 a month for the bitcoin bilboard:
http://www.bitcoinblogger.com/2011/06/bitcoin-billboard-in-silicon-valley.html

$2500 a month for a national radio add on more than 105 stations across the country:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H15HyTti8vk

I'm currently working on another project that I think will be the biggest news yet for the bitcoin community.
It's not for sure yet,  but I hope to be able to make an announcement about it at the end of this week.  (Hopefully on Bruce's show)
You are the fucking man and an inspiration sir.   I don't have money to toss around, but if I did, i'd do it based on things I believe in that deeply like you did.  For now though, I have been using a decent amount of free time invested in various Bitcoin related ventures all that not only promote the things I am doing, but promote the coin itself, which I think a lot of people forget to do.  It is still a "new" thing that will have to be explained to people slowly for a little bit, but bigger campaigns and working Bitcoin into things people already understand, it's awesome.   Keep fighting the good fight, good luck with all these promotions you are running Smiley
1993  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoins as prize money for the Bitfilm Festival on: June 29, 2011, 02:47:39 PM
This is pretty damn huge actually, I hope this gets a good amount of support, would be nice public PR for Bitcion without the coin itself being the focus Smiley
1994  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: TradeHill 10% off and another wacky scheme! on: June 29, 2011, 02:41:53 PM
And now the big question.  Why should I trust you?

1995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official PR site for bitcoin - To give journalists updates they need etc. on: June 29, 2011, 02:40:30 PM
Alright then, just one more thing.

Surely with the amount of people using BTC now someone has a contact in reuters or the like. Also surely someone knows an expert in litigation to find out if it's legal.

Do you have a press release or story on Bitcoin you need to get out?  I'm curious as to is there any major outlet you don't think Bitcoin has been featured on?

As far as Bitcoin law, we have a decent team of professionals who could probably assist with specifics regarding that http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=13882.0 Smiley
1996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin7 - Official letter, following first week of operation on: June 29, 2011, 02:35:34 PM
What security benefits does Bitcoin7 feel they have over the markets that make it the site I should use?

I support many markets, and have not joined Bitcoin7 because of such forum based negativity, I would argue that the strategy of ignoring the spammers that are spamming in your name, is not a great strategy, but I won't allow this to think ill of the site if it provides better function and security that what is available, is that what you offer?
1997  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official PR site for bitcoin - To give journalists updates they need etc. on: June 29, 2011, 02:27:20 PM
There more for how to start mining though are they? I'm taking about "Journalists click here". Make it easier for them and try to get it up the ranks in google. Maybe this PR site would be more important to have at the top than the technical resources.

Bitcoin has too much depth.   The simplification of this whole system is still not fully ready for public consumption imo.   Things like weusecoins and bitcoinme I think are in place to attempt some sort of simplification, but I think also these sites know better than to put information out there  in a way that people would not question or look further (but I don't run these sites, just a theory).

Once the nerdy users feel fully safe using it, or at least safer than right now, that is when people who help with the Wiki should revise the WeUseCoins page to work as that PR site you may envision.
1998  Other / Off-topic / Re: Regarding passwords on: June 29, 2011, 02:22:42 PM
They're undoubtedly (probably) secure passwords, but they seem hard to remember. I mentioned this in another thread, but another option aside from including uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols is to create a long password with just plain English words, which are much easier to remember. Check out http://www.diceware.com for example. Long passwords result in exponential growth in complexity, rather than just polynomial growth by including more symbols.

And easier to remember.

QWERTY12345 when you can remember a formula of "QWERTY12345x3" knowing the password is QWERTY12345QWERTY12345QWERTY12345

I like this theory.  Stoners do too.
1999  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question from a new guy on: June 29, 2011, 02:16:28 PM
That sounds like the use of 3rd party anyway. Just in a different currency. Companies like Paypal can easily adopt that. And here I thought we're trying to get away from those people.

I'm not sure if I understand.  If you do not want to use a third party, you do not have to.  That is the risk of doing business with a person you do not know.  There is no insurance.  This is both a benefit and drawback of the coin.

At the least you can choose to not use a third party, or you can use the options that are available. Even if the 'third party' was a cool program meant to somehow track trust with another person, you are still putting your trust in something else other than you and the person you wish to do a transaction with.

Bitcoin does not end stealing and people being douches, if anything though, it makes it easier to tag those people Smiley
2000  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question from a new guy on: June 29, 2011, 02:04:45 PM
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=21659.0 was the answer.  I would look around that thread or some people within that thread for what will be the next solution for this problem.

I am voting for Google to step in with a million percent secure temporary anonymous wallet system.   If you don't mind me, I'll be dreaming now.
