Hi,
Just a thought as a response to badly researched publications on the net.  A useful site that no only could help journalists but give them insight into topics like computer security, technical issues in general etc.

Overlooked facts like....the dollar is also used to pay for illegal drugs - that it is traceable (and more easily than the dollar??) and also to provide insights into technical issues journalists dip their toes into.

Is it ultimately going to be down to reporters whether the mainstream take it up or not?

Again, just a thought.

I think it is about time for Bitcoin to get a Wiki maybe to help have information with citations and links.

Edit: Click on this link and this link only https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page

There more for how to start mining though are they? I'm taking about "Journalists click here". Make it easier for them and try to get it up the ranks in google. Maybe this PR site would be more important to have at the top than the technical resources.

Bitcoin has too much depth.   The simplification of this whole system is still not fully ready for public consumption imo.   Things like weusecoins and bitcoinme I think are in place to attempt some sort of simplification, but I think also these sites know better than to put information out there  in a way that people would not question or look further (but I don't run these sites, just a theory).

Once the nerdy users feel fully safe using it, or at least safer than right now, that is when people who help with the Wiki should revise the WeUseCoins page to work as that PR site you may envision.

Alright then, just one more thing.

Surely with the amount of people using BTC now someone has a contact in reuters or the like. Also surely someone knows an expert in litigation to find out if it's legal.

Do you have a press release or story on Bitcoin you need to get out?  I'm curious as to is there any major outlet you don't think Bitcoin has been featured on?

As far as Bitcoin law, we have a decent team of professionals who could probably assist with specifics regarding that http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=13882.0 Smiley
