1981  Other / Meta / Re: Offensive words on the forum on: June 14, 2023, 10:29:57 PM
No form of response is wrong as long as it contributes to the learning behind the thread. How would you feel if you made a thread and nobody responded to it? Sometimes members find different means to fit into a discussion that seem difficult to understand or isn't controversial. like everyone said, no need to be sad about a member's criticism on a thread. Have you noticed that such abstract responses get merited by some members. Meaning that, while it gets you sad, other members find if funny. Along the line in the thread, when another member opposes the critic they may come back to explain in details why they responded that way to the OP. It's all fun and they must be something to learn from them; don't stop opening threads because of critics. Be a mature and playful member. It'll facilitate your journey.

The forum may have lots of rules like you said, but few rules must not be broken and those rules you should be wary of, such as plagiarism, spamming, AI contents, and using abusive words on members. Plagiarism and spamming are two easy route out of the forum, if boycotted. If you can use the forum without breaking few rules out of the many rules, you won't have any reason to be scared. When you are not sure, if you are getting things right, scroll through the rules again and refresh your memory. Also visit the mega board to know why some users with ban appeals are getting banned. It will enlighten you more on how to place yourself in the forum.
1983  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 14, 2023, 09:49:00 PM
Poverty is a state of mind, a rich man can travel miles to give a poor man money, if the poor man has what he needs. In that situation the poor man can control the rich man as long as he wants, until he hands over the item or information to the rich man. Nobody on Earth possess everything, some have money, while others have food, pastures and livestocks like Op stated. The person with money needs those things and would do everything to get them with his money. They is a saying that “you can only be weather-wise or otherwise". A person can't hold it all. Everyone can be said to be rich and poor in their own capacity. Health is the best wealth.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 09:34:56 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I’m still gambling at the present time. I can say it’s not that huge amount actually that I won when gambling but just a good amount, enough to cover up my previous losses that time. But when asked if we can easily quit from gambling after winning big, I don’t think a gambler will just stop gambling and go home when he’s still in the heights of gambling. A lot of gamblers fail to discipline theirselves with this scenario, the reason why most of them end up losing rather than taking home all their profits.

The house knows about this, and that's why they're not bothered with the big winners, as 90 percent of the money will go back into gambling. The gambler's mind is structured that way, and it happens out of greed to win more, but not everyone considers it as greed, what matters to them is that they enjoy playing the game and in addition they've got enough money to take care of the expenses. For an online gambler that gambles from home, it'll be difficult to discipline himself, and quitting gambling after winning huge amount is close to impossible. Players will focus more and spend time gambling, when it pays off big.
1985  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: June 13, 2023, 09:02:18 PM
The increased focus on business activities does not detract from the social aspect of the platform, but expands its functionality to meet the needs of a wider range of users. but it is still inherently important to note that even though social media has become a powerful tool for businesses, it still serves as a platform to socialize and connect with others. Many people continue to use social media primarily for personal interaction, sharing updates and staying connected with friends and family.
The addition of features that are tailored to the needs of the platform users themselves is indeed a step that is quite helpful for Social Media users. And yes, you are right that all the things that make users increase their business through social media also have no effect on social media interactions that are still running as usual. But the shift that is happening there is the increasingly complex activities on social media. Everything is not just limited to ordinary interactions but rather interactions that also lead to an interest such as business, politics and increasing popularity.

Today's social media is becoming more like the social world in the real world. because everything is available on social media. Even now, people prefer to read news and watch news through social media rather than television. This is what makes advertising and the business world grow faster on social media platforms. because it follows the growth in the number of users which is really fantastic and indeed suitable to be used as promotional media too if we have a business or product that we want to promote.

Regardless of the enormous amount of people using social media everyday, which makes it a client hunting place for different businesses, people still utilize social media for social purposes. The content creators makes social media a fun place and seize the opportunity to market a business. Without socializing businesses won't thrive on social media, because users are there to have fun and meet new trends, behaviors, fashion etc. From my observations, they is more of socializing on social media than businesses. The algorithm features more of businesses because the social media platform makes money through those businesses. And we tend to see more of business pages because they spend more time on social media to build networks and attract new customers. I see lots of small social media accounts that don't focus on the growth of their pages, as they don't care about getting customers on social media instead they're there to experience fun during leisure.
1986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best board to focus on as a newbie in the forum? on: June 13, 2023, 08:36:44 PM
I'd suggest that you focus on beginners, and help and the bitcoin discussion boards. Since you've found fun in the gambling boards it's fine to stick around there, but these two boards will facilitate your learning journey in the forum. If you're fine with the level of bitcoin knowledge you possess, the economics board is always a good place to learn about the real world and business. I bet as a newbie you'll enjoy chatting with members in that section, they exist in the board, economics, premium responses generally about how people live life in the world and society. Meta section is also great as a newbie to learn what's happening in the forum; updates and new observations. In a nutshell, while building activities in any board that fits you, endeavor to create threads about your views and questions relating to the board.
1987  Other / Politics & Society / Re: marriage is everybody problems! on: June 11, 2023, 11:40:07 PM
...that's the problem of the businessman and not everyone...The employees doesn't have to...
Well, tbh, nobody want to be in this chaos honestly, I want to live a trouble free life too, this never ending chaos is going to drain so much energy, at least as much effort as a fulltime job, for what? for a clean house and a cooked meal? Bailout the business just for the sake of clean house and cooked meals? Couldn't I just hire third world slave to do the job? And save me all the hassle?
Well, there is the saying that if you can't take the heat in the kitchen, get out of it.

And that's what you have to do when you can't all of these whether it is the business or being a married guy. There's divorce if you can't take it anymore and it can't be resolved with talks.

For someone who just want to live free and doesn't want to deal with these normal problems, you know what to do. Don't get involved into marriage or even a business.

I think that is a different comparison, I can't get tired of seeing and wasn't always with them everyday. Marriage is fine, but different people have unique responses about it and how it may affect their daily life. Looking at the society today, lots of people behave in a strange way and its difficult to get a good match for marriage. That's what I am pointing at, and such a rare union if not achieved may become a catastrophe. Men and women no exemption. That is, the risk is high and it has no moderator, like OP said; its for everybody to know the problem, which means nobody is meant to help solve the problem, as they also have their family to focus on. The whole thing arrives at mutual understanding, a man that doesn't get the kind of woman he wished for, can lose interest real quick.
1988  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ad sales down 59%, company valuation down 66% on: June 11, 2023, 11:25:21 PM
Elon musk is trying to run twitter Like other paying social media platforms. He just announced recently that content creators will have to get paid for the ads being attached under their comment boxes. So, he thinks with that more content creators will have to flock around twitter and it'll also increase the reach of Ads in the platform. Twitter users dropped drastically when Elon Musk started selling verification badge to everyone. The whole concept of that badge faded out, and it affected Twitter's growth. However, he is yet to master his new craft and soon his policies will begin to fit in and twitter will grow again.
1989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi nakamoto was there that is why BTC come to stay. on: June 11, 2023, 11:11:39 PM
Satoshi continued a process that other cryotographers started, other internet money existed, but they weren't as excellent as Satoshi's innovation. I can't say if he broke any rule or not, yet he did make some sacrifices to achieve his goal. The fact that he's no where to be found, is also a huge sacrifice to the bitcoin community. Because it's creating awareness and too many questions everyday from the public. Of course other countries adopt bitcoin and some ban it, that doesn't imply they'll regret their action, as they still have the power to accept bitcoin whenever it feels like they're losing out in the battle.
1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin die? on: June 10, 2023, 01:13:57 PM
If only this false principle exists; bergofsky principle, bitcoin would have been dead long ago. For a technology that is getting famous everyday and making daily news I don't think it will die. Even the post office is not yet dead despite the widespread usage of emails. It can only be that a crypto technology that is more sophisticated than bitcoin is created. More users can moveahead to use such technology, but that won't kill bitcoin, it can just reduce in value. As the world of tech is moving too fast people in future can refer back to bitcoin as the source to the technology they're using. Even one node can run the network, so it's very difficult for the network to fail or breakdown.
1991  Other / Politics & Society / Re: marriage is everybody problems! on: June 10, 2023, 12:31:51 PM
just like business, when the business goes bad, it is everybody else problem, everybody, every taxpayer gotta bailout the bad business that goes broke, everyone would pay the taxes.

we all hope the husband would fix and help the marriage on his own. that is a wiseful thinking. i saw many married men have this very funny opinion, they always talk about their life suck, and foreveralone guy is better. It is clear to me now, he can't tix his marriage problem alone, when he got married, it is everybody else problems, it is the entire nations problems, it is internationally problem, everybody else gotta bailout the marriage!

Marriage is a business too. A marriage is a company with 2 partners. The male partner is often at a disadvantage financially because of the marriage law. It is a bad business practice. A male should be a lone wolf and rent sex when he is in need. I am usually against the subscription services but his is one of those moments where paying for a subscription makes more sense than buying the product. It is because in this example, the product loses its value over time. Just like FIAT. FIAT and sex partners lose their value over time unlike gold and bitcoin, which become more valuable as time goes on. Why would you want to invest in something that is going to have less worth tomorrow? It is against common sense. You should always rent these types of assets.

Lol, the truth made me laugh, male should always get what they want at anytime they need it, not getting it all the time. Subscribing for such an asset pushes the man to have sex more than he should and it also sets some men backward. A famous saying; if you want to be happy for a month get married, and if you want to be happy forever, become a priest. I don't know how marriage looks like, not married. But, I see it as boring, nothing special seeing same person everyday for years. The value diminishes, as the wedding ring wears off.
1992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a mistake to make a separate Bitcoin channel on YouTube? on: June 10, 2023, 12:23:52 PM
Sorry I haven't posted any updates. I've been doing a lot of reading about YouTube monetisation, traffic building, and their draconian policies. I'm starting to feel that YT is going the way of Bud light, and trying to destroy the business by enforcing the will of the banking/pharma elite. I guess it is a reasonable platform to experiment with video production, but the way it is at the moment, it doesn't look as if it is a viable long term project. Some content producers arfe reporting a reduction of 80% in their revenue, and that will make it difficult to start a new channel. They are also promting a payment service to gain traffic, and that will reduce quality in my opinion. I certainly won't consider paying for traffic, that was the reason I gave up on using the Bravce browser and it's monetisating community. I guess I'll look around for some of the newer "uncensored" platforms, and especially those that are Bitcoin friendly.
I'm getting fed up with all the rubbish/noisy adverts that YouTube is pushing, and I'm concerned that those are being added to videos without any reward for the ciontent producer.  YouTube is constantly pushing an ad free premium service that I need to pay to join. I'm reluctant to do this if all the decent content producers are leaving the platform.

Lots of traffics still hover on youtube, and creators still make money from the platform. Though, the fact that users are moving out doesn't mean an end to the platform, a new set creators like you would join the platform and continue publishing their work. However, if you are in the US you can use Patreon to create contents and earn money, VPN works too, if you don't stay in the USA. You also need to understand that getting traffic will be difficult for those who don't pay for traffic, unless you devise a different method that works for you.

What do you guys think? Is YouTube losing its dominant position?

Youtube still harness the highest number of video contents, short and long. It'll be difficult for it to leave its dominant position. New contents platforms are coming up, but the traffic on youtube is still excellent and enormous. Don't know about how they pay, but the topics you listed above are very interesting and catchy. I like the way you made it look attractive and the fact that you'll also create some fun contents that won't focus mainly on bitcoin. It's better to start, be consistent and forget perfection for now!
1993  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 09, 2023, 03:30:37 PM
being an established member is different from being a high ranked member. Established members are well known members and we've got some snr members in that category and legendary members who are not in that category. Yes established members get more merits because their posts are too informative to the members of this forum, which made them become established. To get merited, a post must in a way solve some problems for members of this forum. As a newbie, always spend time to research the cryptocurrency market and come up with question that you don't understand. Creating a thread here will help you learn from different members and you may not forget that topic easily when asked to answer such question. Getting merited depends on the people who read the content and the way they felt about the content you shared. Even a one line post can get merited, according to how quality it is to the readers.  It's a gradual process to rank in the forum and every merit counts. The more you expect to get merited, more disappointed you may become. Just share your thoughts on things, which is not clear to you, be consistent, the merits will roll to your account.
1994  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: June 09, 2023, 10:56:12 AM
That is a stupid statement, they don't work for small wages, they don't work because the small wages isn't a livable wage, your statement is defending businesses that pay dirt cheap to their workers, have you seen the pay raise that many union workers ask? They're not a lot, they're smart enough to know the limit. Give me evidences that the state isn't accountable? Say if there's a war, will there be a continuous prosperity in that state?

Prosperity will never exist when the country is facing war, but in general, almost everyone does not want to work in low-paid jobs if there are other job options with more decent wages. But if some of them are facing a difficult situation such as war or like they have no other choice to survive, of course it will be very forced if they will continue to choose to work at jobs with low wages.

Although they will also continue to look for others for a more decent income because the state is only able to provide education and employment in a makeshift way, not as complete as what its citizens want. So the consideration of a job with a very small salary depends on how the environmental conditions or conditions of the country are at a certain time, because a job with a small salary is not suitable for long-term work.

Job seekers shouldn't sit back at home because of low salaries. Opportunities can as well fall out from the place of work, they can learn new skills or build an existing skill from that company. Having a gap in job history is bad for resume, and employees find it difficult to hire such applicants. That's why most time we have to start from somewhere. I understand his friend is a family man, what if he doesn't find another good paying job in few months. Staying at home is not an option, unless he's got some digital skills to keep him busy. What matters is having in mind that he won't end up in that low paying company. He should strategize his mind, to leave that place when a better opportunity arrives. Yet, he still needs the low paying job to warm up his skills to be qualified for the high paying opportunity.
1995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One more message inscribed on Bitcoin associated with the 2009 block 1018 on: June 09, 2023, 10:23:54 AM
There is nothing strange here, the message was not signed with a specific date or a specific event that can only be known in the future, so such a message can be created today, yesterday or a year ago because it does not carry a historical character.

For example, I can sign a message in the name of “Bitcoin Flash” and in the future an update has been invented that makes Bitcoin transactions instantaneous and has been called by this name. Does this mean that I am right or did I have information in advance?

I don't have access to even confirm this message is valid and signed, can you post it in text form?

https://www.ord.io/11035214 you can get the text form there. I thought of it as strange since the private key is linked to Hal Finney and the address was created back in 2009, and only a few people can be able to sign a message with that private key. You can enlighten me more about how it works. And if it's not some weird thing many people would have done similar thing. I could see the surprise on different users when onesignature signed a message using that private key. What is the secret behind how they are doing it?
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: June 08, 2023, 10:31:11 PM
I’m not sure I agree with those of you blaming the parents. I am pretty sure that their child committing suicide wasn’t their goal. People do things by themselves sometimes and I feel like if help was needed it would have been provided. Having been young once myself though, I can understand how a run of bad luck could seem like the end of the world when you lack life experience.

I doubt the parents have done anything wrong in this situation. I do not know them, but it would seem to me they cared enough about the well being of their son for them to try to provide him with education. Unfortunately, they may have skipped the talk on potential vices, like smoking, drugs, alcohol and gambling...

I can't even imagine how it feels to lose a child, and even in such horrible manner, knowing it was an agonizing death for something which was preventable.

Well, emotional intelligence traces everything that happens to a child's emotions back to his parents. Multiple factors proves right why parents should behave well in the presence of their child. I don't know the boy's parents, and don't blame them, but console them about such a sad experience. Yet, in a society that gets wild everyday, parents should always make out time to discuss and interact with their child. They can easily discover when their child is depressed and passing through tough times. The deceased may have started gambling before he got admitted into the university, and his parents wasn't aware, because they never watched him closely. Or if they found out about his gambling addiction they should have counseled him and get a therapy that can help him fight the habit. Parents have lots of role to play in a child's life, such that if any get omitted it can be a torn in the flesh. The high rate of divorce today is blamed on the parents who fought or argued in the presence of their children.
1997  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: June 08, 2023, 09:45:46 PM
You aren't wealthy unless you save, however you cant save plain cash as its losing value often. But to have savings is generally going to include stocks and bonds beyond plain cash I think is fair.  Some say their house is their savings I don't disagree with that though variety is required, a few would say a house is a liability not savings but depends how you play it as you can improve a house which is a form of self improvement I think in the same category as savings imo.

Saving money is not a fast means of getting rich, when we have the opportunity to invest wisely our money. Most wealthy men live from the returns of their investment. Just like you pointed out a house. A man who rented out his house, yields more wealth while the other person that saved money to build a house to reside, is not getting any dime from the house he's built. So, if we spend our money wisely, we'll earn more money. Think about some websites that earn more money than a rented house, and the website owner didn't spend much money near to what the house owner spent in building his house. What do we gain to watch money stay idle in the bank, as if it was made to sleep in the bank. Investing money is like taking control gradually over our money. That doesn't mean we should spend everything investing money, no. But it's wrong to believe in saving money until we become weathy, that's risky for our offsprings.
1998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / One more message inscribed on Bitcoin associated with the 2009 block 1018 on: June 08, 2023, 09:05:34 PM
An anonymous person, known only by leonidas.og, signed a message on Bitcoin with the private key associated with the 2009 block 1018. We could recall that a forum member onesignature, in this thread, signed a message using the private key associated to that block, last year, which attracted multiple attentions in the community. Yesterday, another person signed a message using the same private key, with the ordinal protocol. The inscribed message reads ord.io the ordinal explorer that leonidas is building, the person dmed leonidas.og on twitter about this and  leonidas decided to keep the person's name a secret. This block was mined by hal finney and sources from bitcoin news claim that Hal Finney's private keys got stolen, sold or hijacked. And the people in possession of the private key is using it to sign messages on the block and they're not showing any sign of stopping.  Here is the inscription: https://www.ord.io/11035214

What do you think about this strange signatures on block 1018?

1999  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 07, 2023, 08:18:46 PM
Exchanges was never made to store crypto, but to trade or swap cryptocurrency. For people who trade often they'll have to leave some funds in the exchange, for easy transaction. Hence, in my opinion, I don't have much funds saved in any exchange, because I don't need to swap coins often. No need leaving my funds in exchanges when I have a wallet. In addition, most people that keep funds in exchange don't want to take responsibility for holding their money, I talked with a friend he preferred keeping his crypto in exchange because he thinks the exchange will refund him if anything happens to his money, but if he losses crypto in his wallet maybe to hackers the money is gone without any hope of getting them back again. Different reasons for different people.
2000  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw your funds from Gate.io on: June 07, 2023, 07:44:53 PM
I thought Gate exchange was based in Japan, but they probably changed something in recent years, now it is showing they are registered in Cayman Islands.

They are one of top ten exchanges according to Coingecko website and they have very good trust score rating, so this news could certainly affect whole crypto market.

Gateio is hosted offshore but it's a Chinese exchange. It's sad to hear about this issue, I actively used gateio for few months when they ranked 3rd on coinmarketcap. Seeing that their rank dropped back to number 10 shows that they were also affected by the fall of FTX. Most of these exchanges are dependent on other exchanges, now gateio is affected again by the disappearance of the multichain CEO. I think my assets there is not enough to make me bothered and I don't want to stress myself with their login requirements.
