1981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Silver Asset Backed Cryptocurrency on: June 03, 2020, 01:15:11 PM
So are people just supposed to trust that you actually have the silver you say in your vaults?

Do you have any third-party audits that can add some credibility to your claims? The vast majority of other pegged-tokens have some way for holders to verify what is in the company's reserves—yours doesn't...

Even Tether Gold has a live update page showing the gold in reserves, and Tether is as sketchy as they come.

Also, any information about who your team is? In particular your executive team?
1982  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ Madoff's game⭐Jackpot Dapp🚀 Win the jackpot 💰 Or win new player's money 💲 ✅ on: June 02, 2020, 10:53:02 PM
So is this just a gameified Ponzi scheme or what? Pretty much seems like a multi-level marketing scheme with a game element to it.

That said, the gameplay does actually look fun, though I doubt the game will pick up the momentum to deliver the jackpot rewards you've got in your ANN post.

Can you tell us how many users you currently have?
1983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think testnet coins should be trade able already in exchange on: June 02, 2020, 09:13:21 PM
So long as there is a 1:1 coinswap with mainnet, then I think that's fine.

However, I can imagine some projects could easily pull off some tricks by allowing their testnet coins to be tradeable.

For instance they could force a token split at a later date, thereby expanding or contracting their market cap at a later date to their advantage. They could also launch the mainnet and essentially render testnet coins worthless at any moment, particularly if they don't offer a swap or anything.

That said, for genuine projects it really isn't a problem—though the potential for abuse is there.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson vs Holyfield Charity Fight on: June 02, 2020, 04:47:51 PM
It happens that Lennox is still there and doing fine

In fact, he beat Holyfield twice, but the first bout was declared a draw. It looked liked a close fight, however Lennox would come out a winner if the judges were more impartial. The fight was in New York, and Lennox is from England while Holyfield is American, so the judges were not. The second fight made Lewis' dominance abundantly clear

My bad, I missed it, so these 3 were not already in their prime but they are still fighting, so what do we expect next, would it be possible for Lennox to fight the winner of Tyson vs Holyfield? I think that one is going to be an exciting fight too

Lennox would dispatch them both in a heartbeat

Though I'm almost certain that he will never step into the ring again (for a brawl) unless he is offered a fat paycheck, like a very, very fat one. He had been wise enough to call off his agreement to a rematch with the elder Klichko as he was obviously past his prime too and got tired from boxing. All in all, I think he is quite happy with his life in retirement. Unlike Holyfield and Tyson, who still look like they have something to tell each other on the canvas, he doesn't have anything  to prove to anyone, and especially to these two losers (from his point of view)

I don't think the boxing match will be between these two. Holyfield is clearly in massively worse shape than Tyson, and I'm sure he knows this. He will get mauled.

I'd love to see Tyson vs Mayweather, even at two different weight classes. I honestly think it would be a competitive fight.

Mayweather is the GOAT of the lower weight classes, and Tyson is a way past his prime heavyweight goat. If they can meet somewhere close in weight, maybe 160lb Mayweather vs 180lb Tyson, I think that would be fair.

Mike Tyson is only around 5ft 9, not too much bigger than Mayweather. I'm sure he's walking around about 190lbs right now, so he could probs cut a big to meet at a catchweight with Money.

1985  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone from US, UK, AU or CA (I will pay for the work) on: June 01, 2020, 01:24:19 PM
Nobody from any of these countries is going to spend their time discussing with you, opening the link, completing the survey and then sending you their BTC address for 50 cents.
1986  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Creating a new service need feedback on: May 29, 2020, 10:17:25 PM
I personally think the fee depends on how much KYC you're going to do.

If you're not doing any KYC, then I think you can reasonably get away with a fee of between 2-5%, possibly even more in some jurisdictions.

However, if you're going with the whole KYC shabang, then you're looking at around 0.5%-2%. This will keep you competitive with platforms like Coinbase, Coinmama and CEX.

As far as I'm aware, Coinbase offers Paypal payouts for some countries, so it might be worth using that as the basis of your figures.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you donate in a casino? on: May 29, 2020, 08:34:53 PM
Plenty of people do donate all the time.

Check out the crypto.games chatbox, you will find that big winners often send tips and lottery tickets to other users. This is a kind of donation.

That said, I don't think people would be inclined to donate to charity while playing at a casino. They're there to make profit, and are only likely to donate to one another or the dealer or something through a tip.

The feature will almost certainly fail to generate traction.

1989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Latoken will charge you 5USD monthly, if you are not active. on: May 29, 2020, 10:12:21 AM
This is a common practice among traditional asset brokers and exchanges, however I've recently see that cryptocurrency companies are not beginning to implement a similar feature.

I guess they're trying to penalize the people that are just using the platform as an online wallet, rather than actually doing any trading.

Another exchange that has a similar policy in place is exmo.com.

Though as far as I can tell, the $5 is only a one off fee after being inactive for 6 months. Not quite as bad as $5/month.

https://exmo.com/en/docs/fees

Quoting the exact paragraph below;

"If during 6 (six) calendar months the User does not make a single: Transaction, Deposit, or Withdrawal of Funds, the Account of such a User is considered an Inactive Account. The fee for the inactivity of the Account is the equivalent of 5 (five) US dollars at the current spot rate of the US dollar to the Currency in which the commission is debited. The Account ceases to be considered an Inactive Account from the date of any of these listed actions: one Transaction, Deposit, or Withdrawal of Funds."

1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson vs Holyfield Charity Fight on: May 29, 2020, 08:44:18 AM
Although they both look to be in excellent condition for their age, it's quite clear that Tyson is in by far the better shape of the two.

He's still a shadow of his former self, but he's still got the speed and power needed to post a threat to even some current ranked heavyweights.

Because of this, I'm pretty sure that he would maul Holyfield in the rematch. Holyfield is just looking big and slow right now. Sure, I bet he can still throw some nasty hands, but Mike Tyson has far more speed.

For the most part, speed usually beats power—and Tyson has both.

Let's just hope Tyson doesn't feel like finished Holyfield's ear this time.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to Miners After Bitcoin Halving? on: May 28, 2020, 10:18:48 PM
The hash rate inevitably drops when the less well-heeled miners realize that their revenues are not covering their operation costs, and then begin to shutter operations.

Inevitably, more efficient mining hardware then becomes available which is first monopolized by the big mining operations, again driving up the hash rate while the price of Bitcoin climbs in tow.

Now that Bitcoin has an improved price and the price of the newer hardware has slightly reduced, smaller miners can then begin to scale in. And the cycle begins anew.
1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Despite Many Participants, You Can Still Get Huge Rewards In Bounty. on: May 28, 2020, 09:14:59 PM
Is there any reason why every first letter in every word of your post is capitalized?

Maybe you wouldn't waste so much time with your bounty tasks if you spoke properly.

The fact is more participants usually means fewer rewards per participant unless the bounty manager is doing his job properly and ensuring that only high quality work is rewarded.

The vast majority of bounty hunters are spamlords who deserve zero rewards. The ones who actually generate value should share all the rewards, even if this does represents just a small fraction of all participants.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is good strategy or technique for Toss Coin? on: May 28, 2020, 07:23:14 PM
Why bother asking if there any strategies for a game that is 100% a 50/50 split?

By definition, a game that is unequivocally balanced cannot be gamed in any way. The only thing you can do is look into the actual coin they use and see if one side is slightly heavier than the other.

That said, I doubt it would help anyway since it's unlikely to neutralize the house edge or rake if there is one.

Don't waste your time with strategies, just accept the odds as they are and take your chances. The alternative is to waste your time with baseless strategies.
1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with the Kick token and it's 888888 Frozendrop? on: May 28, 2020, 04:56:12 PM
Lmao, to be honest KickToken had a good marketing strategy.

It's the first time I've seen a frozen drop used to such a dramatic effect. They managed to drive the price of their token up and pump their market cap to almost $100 million at its peak.

No doubt the project founders and their earliest investors absolutely racked in the profit.

That said, I hope we don't start seeing a wave of new shitcoins trying the same thing. I doubt it would work again.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do anybody know if there is a Best Crypto Project that Failed? on: May 27, 2020, 07:13:16 PM
Plenty of good cryptocurrency projects have failed, some of them you've never even heard of, because they simply failed to launch entirely.

From recently memory, Multiversum sounded like it had great potential, but then completely failed to deliver.

PIVX is another one that did the same, promising to bring the IPFS protocol to the mainstream—and then got hacked and died.

Practically every token that was hyped up in 2017 following an ICO is now in the early stages of death.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mmorpg, Bitcoin, and Gambling on: May 27, 2020, 06:26:27 PM
I was also an avid MMORPG gamer back in the day. Specifically Runescape and Warcraft, but I have grown out of it now. Or maybe life beat it out of me, who knows.

I would definitely love to see a game that genuinely incorporates cryptocurrencies as the in-game currency and allows people to trade between one another, either for in-game items or real ones. However, I doubt any major game studio wants to open that can of worms, due to the crazy amounts of money laundering that could occur.

That said, would be nice to play some games of gwent in the Witcher with a few friends, while playing for real money (Bitcoin) of course  Grin

1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: May 26, 2020, 08:15:20 PM
Definitely not here.

I'm a professional poker player with a highly positive EV. I play simply because it makes me a good amount of money and it's easy. Honestly, I don't even enjoy playing poker anymore, I just do it because I'm good at it.

For me it's similar to doing a job you don't like just because it pays the bills. I could quit it and get another job for sure, but I doubt I'll make the same amount in a real job as I can with just a few hours at a poker table.

That said, I've definitely seen people who play poker to escape their problems. These are fish that get terrorized and felted pretty quickly,
1999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China electric issue causes Bitcoin to pull back on: May 25, 2020, 11:06:34 AM
Why would reduced mining activity cause Bitcoin to pull back?

Bitcoin hash rate has been on the decline since May 12 (halving day). There is no evidence to suggest that the recent dip from high 9's to around $9k has anything to do with miners.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. It's irritating when people try to link practically any trivial event to the price action of Bitcoin.

The vast majority of miners are sellers, not buyers. Reduced mining activity should actually lead to reduce selling volume. Doubt the difference would be consequential though.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you pick slots? on: May 25, 2020, 10:29:37 AM
I'm not a huge fan of slots, but I have been known to dabble when a particularly attractive one comes along.

I tend to go for the ones with the highest jackpot, but no minimum bet restriction. Ideally ones that have bonus games and interactive elements.

One from Endorphina tend to be good because each round tends to last a while, same with iGaming but the RTP is often trash for these games.

In general though, you should play dice or crash games if you want to maximize your ROI, since these have the lowest house edge.
