Moderately hopeful rendertoken or other forms of gpu marketplace gains traction this year.
Where are rendertoken currently at? Beta-testing still? Not currently giving out live rendering jobs yet are they?

Personally I'm still running all my rigs (RX 570's, Vegas and 1080's), although the latter are basically at breakeven point. nVidia clearly behind in terms of profitability for the last months.

I've ordered some fpga solutions: 1x BCU1525 from fpga.land, 1x Dwarfminer (yeah yeah I know, but it's only 400 bucks right - no risk no fun) and signed up for an Acorn too. Complexity of running them is above my skill set but I'm confident the community will help in getting them to run.

If the coin prices don't go back up I will turn off the 1080's. That'd be a sad day...

EDIT: not considering ASICs at all. Not out of snobism, but because they really make no sense currently unless you're in need of a big door-stopper.

13 cent power s-9 = $0.06 a day
12 cent power s-9 = $0.40 a day
10 cent power s-9 = $0.98 a day
 5 cent power  s-9 =  $2.72 a day
0 cent power   s-9 = $4.46 a day

13 cent power L3+ =  $0.00 a day
12 cent power L3+ = $0.14 a day
10 cent power L3+ = $0.48 a day
 5 cent power  L3+ = $1.33 a day
 0 cent power L3+ =  $2.18 a day

so the game is not gear at the moment it is power.
19802  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [160PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 18, 2018, 12:48:08 PM
Hi to All! Im new one here, and I have some question regarding payment, profit and other question Smiley I was always on p2p mining... but now there is some problem with block found.. but for electro need to pay every month. So im looking for a new place where to mine. I found CKPOOL. But i cant found some feedback or some information about payment, about profit. I have 7pcs of S9 Antminer. What is profit of 7pcs S9 on ckpool? Payout is when the pool found the block? Thanks
Read pages 70-76 of this blog and that will answer a lot. What is your estimated hash rate that will be running on average?

100TH
It will take you approx 8 days to get to 5N. Once at 5N you will receive a payout every block since w 100TH you should maintain your status in the top 100 payouts. Track your derp on the CKPOOL site to track rough estimate of payout.

full ramp up in 8 days

then 100/160000 x 12.6 =  0.007875 a block  and we should hit 2 blocks every 3 days   or in 30 days 20 blocks which would be  0.1575 coins in a month

all of the above numbers are subject to pool size growing or shrinking I used 160ph to 160000 th pool size.
also all numbers are based on a fairly low diff jump which may or may not happen.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty   if you plug in 100th in this link they have you at 0.1527 btc for a month as they do not use fees in their numbers

we had a big jump last time 14%  this time we may do 4% but  at current prices  diff may go flat soon

at current prices the s9 earns about 90 cents a day at 10 cent power
it earns about 3 dollars at 4 cent power

So we are near the bottom of profits for the s9

Loving this pool. Had to shut down for a day to make adjustments for summer rate electric bills. Yet we are still in the game. May need to mine the 8 pm to 8 am hours as such but still (my sons and I) are still part of the action. Thanks CK!

and slush would have hammered you

as would have nicehash

We are hitting another very soon
19805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan releases the "Moose" - Stackable unit containing 12 x 841 ready to mine. on: June 17, 2018, 05:08:25 PM
Can the solar array actually power that though? That's a lot of panels to power 15480W.

yeah  it is close to a perfect fit  and since the major array is grid tied  it is not an issue.

Have to talk  with buysolar  about power in terms of volts.  as we are 240 with the array

buying a transformer makes it not practical for us.

also not sure what the inverters he uses put out.

I know buysolar was talking to him about a 240 volt version of it since april.

maybe they won't want to develop that voltage after all

can I get some help.

I am mining and have 3 wallets all work.

I also have an account with cryptopia.

I have been able to move my coins between my wallets  no issues.

I have not been able to send  any of the coins to cryptopia.

If someone with a lite wallet  could screenshot how to send to cryptopia it would be helpful.

I am  going to support the coin and have been talking it up on my thread.

To be honest here;  I haven't splurged on buying any new video cards yet....     I am still holding out for 'that new model' that we know is being held back from us.
(remember word of a new model that is basically 4 1060 dies crammed together?)
I am waiting for that.

Here is a preview of dual P106 gpu by OhGodAGirl and she mentioned she have a dual P104 card laying around. 55mh/s Eth for Dual p106 at 150-175w, nothing groundbreaking given P102/1080ti can achieve this and GDDR6 cards right round the corner unless it's $400 usd.

So a dual 104 should do 80mh/s or so.

Video: https://youtu.be/A3i3jpJqgoo?t=24m37s

In this market I'm just holding, with sell limit orders between $700-800 set for my mined eth.

Last month I diversified to Baikal Giant X and looking to grab more equihash asic in the coming months. Moderately hopeful rendertoken or other forms of gpu marketplace gains traction this year.

that is why I still hold some  gpus

I just moved some coin here

I have about 150 of them in wallets

Which pool do you mine? Most of BIS pools have insane 10% fees...

I pay 10% at eggpool

19811  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan releases the "Moose" - Stackable unit containing 12 x 841 ready to mine. on: June 17, 2018, 03:46:11 AM
I wonder why the warranty is 90 days?

Single unit 841 has a two year warranty.

I have to say it would fit in the solar array perfectly.

I was given a free ticket for doing work for bill_gator

I think this is correct
19813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Afterburner fan curve not working on: June 16, 2018, 04:33:38 PM
Hi guys,

Just bought a couple of 1080ti from a fellow member. The cards are working perfectly but AB doesnt apply the custom fan curve after I close the AB window. It drops the fan speed down to 50% when i have set it to 70%.

I have a custom fan curve setup on my other 1070to rig and it works fine. I have checked all settings and they are identical (obviosuly the OC are different). I iust cant fogure iut why the fan curve settings will stick when AB window is open but when I close it it reverts back to a deafukt setting.

Ab is running in the background and on startup. As I said on the other rig it works fine.

Any help is appreciated. All drivers are up to date and its the latest version of AB.

Cheers.

PS. Also tried EVGA Precision OCX and that does the same.

that is weird.

did you try a flat number?

say 70%

where are you mining?

nicehash   sometimes over rides msi afterburner.

those cards   are pretty good at 70% tdp with 70% fan speed if mining  equihash
19814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: June 16, 2018, 02:27:53 PM
@ yankees

yeah  16.7 + 1.3 for extra ac = 18 cents for home mining until  October 1st.

I now am down to:

   550 watts = cpu + 2x 1080tis  mines monero7 + bismuth
1400 watts = 2 l3+ + some moonlander sticks   mines ltc solo and a gpu mining xevan

2000 watts = 50 kwatts a day = 9 dollars = 270 - 300 a month in home power at high rates

If I don't hit a ltc block I will earn about 200  at home and take a 100 dollar loss in June July August Sept

that  will be 400 lost  and my odds of the block  of ltc are not too good.

294,349 to 1  on each block are my odds.

about   4000 blocks are made in 7 days
about 40000 blocks are made in 70 days
about 80000 blocks are made in 140 days

so  294,349/80000 = 3.7 to 1 shot  but the loss of 400  I can live with.

I would be dead without the solar array and the deal at my friends office.

Any of you buying this FPGA card?
https://fpga.land/products/vcu1525-withmods
Too risky for me.

yup, bought one. BCU1525 with 16 gigs ram.

we will see how it turns out.

1 x GPU BCU1525 = 15kh/s at 150watts Huh

Amazing....

Pls share review soon

Yeah  I don't have many gpus anymore  I have a lot of asics.
Many asics are sitting idle.
This year  will be more about cheap power then anything else.

Asic builders made so many asics both coins and gear has become devalued.
But there are still some profits to be had.
Fpga's should be okay but if they are good  the asic builders will take them over. It is their way.

Still working on power more then anything.

If anyone  wants to buy  1080ti's I am going  to be selling this one

I got it in Jan 2018

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Graphics-Cards/Hydro-GFX-GTX-1080-Ti-Liquid-Cooled-Graphics-Card/p/CB-9060011-WW

Here is a moron ebay seller  that wants 999
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pre-Owned-Hydro-GFX-GTX-1080-Ti-Liquid-Cooled-Graphics-Card-in-Packaging/123039038092?

 I paid 815 for it.
 It lists for 869 now.

I can let it go  for 715 shipped to usa for free. I have some flex in price
Has 1 mod a grill for the fan.

gpus  won't die they will shrink
and  they  will mine shit coins

I mine this coin
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bismuth/

It makes some money  and is too small  for an asic builder to bother.

Once it grows someone will fpga it or asic it.

My plan is to shrink my 14x 1080ti gpus down to under 10x of them

I sold off an omen  880-160se  yesterday  for 2k  my profit was about 200 on that sale.

19817  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S9 - 23 TH/s possible? on: June 16, 2018, 02:35:24 AM
frankly who cares?

I rather have a 14th miner doing 900 watts.

Never ceases to amaze me pedal to the metal mindset never goes away.

2 14th miners pulling only 1800 watts = sexy.

1 23th miner pulling 2300 watts = hot and loud and no real benefit that I see.

I have physical room for 250 miners easy.

now supply the power and keep them cool = hard to do.
19818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: June 16, 2018, 12:48:01 AM
bought one. BCU1525 with 16 gigs ram.

we will see how it turns out.

That looks like about a 250 day ROI at current prices, barring future improvements to hashrate and additional algorithms being added.  Of course difficulty will rise once these are on the market.  Definitely plenty of things to consider right now.

yeah if i make roi in a year i would be happy. i know its a $3.6k USD risk. if i lose on it oh well, i will mutter a few choice curse words and carry on.

i bought it obviously hoping it can make bank but also as something to learn on, fpgas may be a big part of future mining. or not. but either way it should be a fun toy to learn with.

good luck with it.
19819  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ALL S9's are a waste of Money on: June 15, 2018, 11:02:09 PM
2$ profit and shit loads of sound and heat...

DO NOT BUY THESE PEOPLE YOU WILL REGRET IT

Even if you have free electricity there are better miners to buy.

if BTC hit over 30K they may be worth running up again but until then what a waste of time and management

80x 2$ profit , is still profit.

160 a day x 365 = 58,400 a year sounds like profit tome to.
19820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Exploring the Threadripper 2 and its mining capabilities on: June 15, 2018, 03:09:32 AM
I was looking at motherboards for threadripper yesterday and you can get models with 4 PCIE x 16 slots and 3 M.2 slots.  If these mini FPGA type GPU accelerators prove to be the real deal I could see a beastly setup with one of these CPUs as the base.

yeah but costly maybe 6k

 edit

I do have 14x 1080tis left
I have ram
I have psu
I have ssd

I would need a few of the m.2s I think 3 of the best are 900
a mobo ----------------------------------------------------- 300
a thread ripper 2 ------------------------------------------- 700?
                                                                           total 1900

4 1080ti's are 2800

so 4700
