This Cheesy

I would assume he is trying to push bids up to sell into anyone that tries to get above his wall...

I mean i would assume someone with that much cash would know what they were doing and not leave so much on the table. Unless he thinks there is an imminent move higher...in that case id just start eating the asks..

Am I missing something?

Don't assume too much. He should know that he will push it up to 4.5 before he gets any substancial sells into it. Thus he should just be buying up those cheap asks instead of pushing them up, unless it's manipulation or a gamble he should know he will lose. (There will not be a huge sell-off below 4.5). He's in a much better position to sit low, or be eating up the asks with that kind of order. There's not much point in going over the top of some people only looking to buy 1 or 2 shares unless you don't know what you're doing or you're manipulating. But I don't think he's manipulating because when you do that with a wall, you're trying to incite other people to increase their buy orders, but almost no one has yet he keeps increasing, so he would have nearly nothing to sell into if he was a manipulator.

Somebody placed a 250 shares buy order at btct (> 1000BTC)  Shocked
I'm curious to see if it is manipulation or not...

If that's for investment and not speculation then that person will be banging their head against the wall when they learn of DMS.SELLING. Costs 0.031 BTC per share and will be paying out around 0.008 BTC probably on Friday. Those 250 shares at 4.27 BTC each could purchase 34,435 shares of DMS.SELLING at 0.031 BTC each, which would make 275 BTC by this Saturday.

You can't buy 35k of DMS.SELLING at 0.031 because only like 293 are available at that price. It has no liquidity for a guy like that. In addition DMS.SELLING doesn't work like that. You're full of something, and it aint facts. You should really back up out of this thread slowly. Save some of your dignity Mabsark.

Wow.. 250 buy order guy, please stop pushing it up. Just chill and wait for some sells.

215 shares gives enough dividends to buy one more share this week. (For those interested in reinvestment strategies)

This is the number I watch to determine whether share prices are reasonable from a historic standpoint. I prefer the number to be under 150 for me to purchase.

Yah but that's kind of an arbitrary way to think about it. You're are essentially just thinking about APR based on the latest dividend.

Wait for someone to nibble it's toes. If it cries like a girl and runs away, it's manipulation.

I don't think it's running away.

Yah, someone sell into it to reveal its intentions! Keep thinking "You scared the wild pokemon away!"?

It was at the top when placed, suggesting it wants to be bought.

Maybe a board member with prior knowledge of a coming announcement? Wink

Haha ever the speculator.

I suspect this one is legit. The last major legit buy order wall I saw was 100 at 4.7 (it was eaten)

As part of this launch the other fractional passthrough, named ASICM, will be renamed to AM100, to make the names more informative:
AM1 = Full Shares
AM100 = Fractional Shares

I don't know where this terminology comes from

AM1 = 1 share of AM
AM100 = a 100th share of AM

but it seems to me that "I have 100 AM1's, so that's 1 AM100" is easier to understand. It also feels like AM100's should be better than AM1's. They're higher! With the way AM is going, an AM1000!

That's confusing as hell. Best to keep these 2 PTs named in relation to actual AM shares rather than each-other.

Point taken.

As anyone who attended last August's IPO skype camera meeting could tell, I'm not in the photo. Smiley

PICS?! WHO HAS THE PICS!

OH GREAT FRIEDCAT, BE WELL AND STAY AWESOME!

Not too shabby. Off by 0.0018 (8.7%).. not my worst prediction.

Friedcat himself is not in that photo.

... starting to think Friedcat isn't a single person, he's a group of people ("Team Friedcat"), in the spirit of the Satoshi theory.

That's awesome.  Is FC the one in the FC t-shirt?

Orange shirt
How do you know?

Not gonna lie.. I just guessed so that someone who actually knew would come in say NO UR WRONG so we could find out.

when you see old analog photos you can almost touch, now we live in an era of best miners, awesome digital cameras, all the best from technology but no one to take a clear picture... Sad

stop your bloody moaning. its a picture of the team, and a friedcat t-shirt.

How awesome can you get? so what if its not HDR and 24M pixels. Some people are disappointed with everything, sigh.

Best of all, friedcat is a short-ass like me  Grin

Just wait til the dividend - last week disappointment reached "end of bitcoin" proportions. Wink

Can't wait to see them flood back in next week. Not because I want them to, but because it's fun to watch.

What's your Div prediction for today, Eric?

Couldn't tell ya vela. Before last week's div, I figured this week to be lower due to the gap for blade sales. I'm feelin' 0.0189...

I've actually been away since Friday (returning from Japan). I don't think I missed much. Let me try anyway...

July 10 - Modest ~0.0189
July 17 - Epic 0.035+
July 24 - Good ~0.032
July 31 - Decent ~0.022
# Cautious of competitor August/September promises
August 7 - Modest ~0.019

What do you think about that, Mabsark?
please don't feed the troll...
This.

Mabsark lives in fantasy land where promises from every company have equal bearing devoid of reputability.

1) congratulations on your board seat, maybe now you can consider giving people the option of moving shares out of TAT (maybe for a fee?)

2) I would much rather friedcat post updates in the forum himself, otherwise this precisely becomes insider information (particularly in the hands of someone with that many shares - and you just mentioned your private shares aside from the passthrough you're offering right?)

1) As I've stated in the past, I won't even consider exporting of TAT.AM/ASICM shares if the asset doesn't hold well over 5000 shares. Even then, if the service was added, it would have fees attached. However I will have other news you might like soon.

2) I understand, but this is the way he chooses to respond and I can't make him do otherwise. As is, I had to reach out twice to get the response at all. He is busy, and I'm not interested in nagging him about how he behaves. Regarding whether this info is a trading advantage, that "advantage" is something all of the other AM PT operators have had for months as board members. Only now am I the same as them. Will it turn out to be a real advantage? I have no idea, nor is it my concern. The biggest advantage is getting to be a part of the crew, in whatever small way I can.

"this is the way he chooses to respond" => how about asking him to post an update in the thread itself?
He used to do it in the past (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2390687#msg2390687), but has since stopped since you started the questioning. Please make sure your pm/emails request that he post the update in the thread.
There is a very small line to seeing how easy it would be for a man with 5000+ shares knowing that hardware or statements won't come for another 3 weeks to try and take advantage of the information before the market knows of it - example: yesterday, AM trades at 4.6, now trading for 4.2.)

+1 There's no reason why you can't ask FC to please post his answers himself.

I'm talking about what is happening on BTCT, which is what happened last night.  It is not the "market" reacting, it is someone diligently going through buy orders all the way to the bottom.  and then they wait for newbs to freak out and they buy back cheap shares.

That kind of market manipulation is unhealthy, and I'm saying, folks, stop with it.  Don't fall into the trap and fill sell orders.  If you want to sell, set a price and leave it. Don't go chasing the manipulators' tail, cause you are gonna get fleeced.

This has nothing to do with fundamentals (strong, btw, look at the average APRs), and everything to do with scare tactics and market manipulations.

You know how to fleece the manipulators?  Don't sell.  That's how they lose.

And that's not hype, it's the truth, folks.

Do you have proof for this, or just "it went down, and that can't happen unless someone is manipulating!"

It's like anti-FUD  Cheesy

The "average APR" argument is BS since there's absolutely no guarantee of current return holding for more than a month or two. The downside risk is enormous.

In this instance I agree with velacreations. I've noticed manipulation since 3.4 but didn't say anything due to lack of proof. Just looking at the graph and watching it get weird at 3.4. All of a sudden it was being bought up and followed up very thinly, but not even just thin on the way down, they were trying to hold the spread low to induce more buys, and it was thin on the way up but somehow linear like it was being held. Then on the crash it was right back down to basically where it started. Whether was manipulation or not, it's never been so bad. I dunno, not trying to FUD, just saying I noticed something fishy too. Still bullish on AM and still think it's worth the price, or will be again, when we see blade sales and no competition yet in a couple weeks.

Do you have charts where I can see stuff like volume and depth of book over time? All I've got is the crappy graphs on BTCT.

Keep in mind that 1000 shares were just auctioned off at 4.5 BTC. That alone will cause weirdness.
