21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: January 24, 2020, 04:19:20 AM
Altcoins after long are following Bitcoin price action. After 2017, they used to just go down with every Bitcoin price up movement.i am pretty optimistic about altcoins this year. I have diversified my portfolio and have included a few large cap coins.
So far the returns have been massive. Link and etc gave almost 20%+ return over Bitcoin price surge. New year is treating us greatly.
That is great but I do not think the altcoin surge is going to continue, it is better to take your profits now instead of waiting for even more profits in the future, especially since in the last days the price of bitcoin has begun to go down and most of the growth in those altcoins is being erased and in some cases those profits are becoming losses really quickly as it is the case with some of the coins that gave the best profits like Dash and BSV.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: January 24, 2020, 03:58:40 AM
To start trading at least we must know about the basics that must be owned by a trader, because when you do not have anything that can be applied when trading, it is not a good result for you. There are many sources that we can get now, one of the most important things is that we have to know about the coins we are interested in trading, whether the coins have good potential or not, and in this case we don't need to look for more stable coins but all options is in you.
Definitely. Studying and mastering the basics would be the best option for any beginners or newbie in the trading field because it would be so risky and not profitable if they will dive straight to this volatile market. As a trader for years, I still experience failures and that is why I encourage all of the newbies around to learn the fundamentals so you will lessen your failures ahead of your journey.
That should be the standard but that is not what we see, many people decide to trade the market even if they do not know nothing about it, I do not know why they do this since it should be obvious they are never going to beat expert traders without any knowledge or experience but since anyone can join this market then this is very common, and while I do not like it, who am I to tell people to not throw their money away? If they want to lose their money then let them.
23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whales keep getting richer and richer while everybody else is losing... on: January 24, 2020, 03:35:15 AM
"Money makes money"
Also in the other hand. Imagine we have two traders:
1. A Rich one who doesn't need to go out and work and eating best foods and having best pillow  Grin
2. A Poor one who needs to go out and work and usually thinking about bills, etc..
Ofcourse, the first one can trade much better than the second one.
I hope all you guys be the first one with a good pillow xD
That is only true if those that have that money know how to use it, if you have done everything in your power to learn everything about trading and investing then you will generate more money with your money, but if you got that money just because you were lucky enough to be born in a wealthy family then even if you have money you will not know how to use it to generate even more money and you will eventually lose it and end up like the trader in your second example.
That is how important is financial literacy. Financial literacy doesn't choose between poor or rich because it is always up to the person if they are going to have a financial literacy. Financial literacy will help a lot because with their knowledge about finances they can identify if something is worth it to try or if it is just a time and money waster.
Financial literacy is critical, it is known that the majority of those that are rich now were not born rich and instead became rich thanks to their efforts, meaning that wealth does not really last long and that most people end up squandering their wealth because they do not understand how to manage their money, this is similar to what happens to lottery winners in which the majority have to declare bankruptcy just years after winning the lottery because they never knew what kind of effort and skills were needed to get that money.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: sell bitcoin to buy fiat or altcoin? on: January 24, 2020, 02:31:16 AM
Absolutely worst decision why you try to sell Bitcoin? You know in last few days Btc price congruously increases. I suggest you can wait to touch 10000$. Now altcoins or fiat currency investment will not a perfect moment. You cannot make good profit in altcoins i think. Crypto is very slow growing even without btc pumping there are no effects in the cryptocurrency market. In 2020 year only for btc investors.
It is his money let him take his own decisions, as long as he has a plan to come back to the market then I do not see anything wrong, maybe he thinks we are going to see a decrease in the price and he wants to take advantage of that fact, and in the case he is wrong he is going to regret his decision but this is better for you as the more traders lose their money to the markets the greater the chances you have of getting some of that money.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin market being manipulated in 2020? on: January 23, 2020, 03:05:03 AM
Well it really depends on the altcoin that you picked, If you pick a startup who have a shady team then it will be manipulated surely. I suggest that you pick up an altcoin that is already stable and have use case already. There is so much altcoins that in the industry trying tovachieve the impossible.
Even some of the top altcoins in the market are suffering from manipulation, if you see a coin going up in price by more than 50% in a single day and it is one of the top coins I can assure you that in the majority of the cases that coin is being manipulated because the growth that is caused by the general population adopting that coin does not look like that, it will be a slow upward pressure that will last for months, and I am skeptical of the current growth of altcoins because of this.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will any new project will do payment with ETH ? on: January 23, 2020, 02:29:02 AM
So far, I have seen several projects that claim to pay with ETH, and the results are all scam projects, which is really disappointing. The IEO project was very popular in the beginning, and slowly investors lost confidence in this approach.
Get used to it, since the market conditions are so difficult for icos I would have thought that scammers would have given up already but it seems they are trying to find all possible ways to try to scam bounty hunters and it seems they are now offering to pay their bounty hunters with ETH but unless they sign an address with enough funds to pay everyone then you should not participate since the chances you lose your time are going to be very high.
For me scammers will always be there and if you are a project that is trying to provide payments to bounty hunters in the form of eth I think it will attract a lot of attention for bounty hunters and also investors to participate in the project. Regardless of the scam or not the project, of course there will be many people who are very enthusiastic to participate in the project and I think a project like this must prepare a large amount of funds to be able to develop their projects.

The enthusiasm of bounty hunters to keep participating in bounties is going down dramatically, just as the interest of investors is going down bounty hunters are getting tired of always receiving the short end of the stick, they are always denied their payment for ridiculous reasons and if this keeps happening to you then it is natural that at some point you are going to give up regardless of the promises of the developers about the payments they will give to you if you participate in their campaign.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth That Will Eventually Kill Bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 01:47:01 AM
In the below 6-minute video, it is explained why Bitcoin is a fraud where a gift record is falsely presented to the public as a market item.

https://youtu.be/LlPwmW4XphE

Avoid seeing these dirty things. A hater is always a hater. Negativity against bitcoin is nothing new. Many have tried before and still they trying. But Bitcoin is growing just like itself. Why don't they say something against the banking system? Why don't they say something about government printing money everyday? I believe Bitcoin, that one day everyone in the world will use Bitcoin.

Btw This channel has no subscribers. It is understandable by looking at it. What is the purpose of this video.
Most of those that criticize bitcoin are only repeating the points of people that do it because they know that bitcoin is a shift on our understanding of the economy, banks and money in general, they do not understand the economy and how the financial system is rigged to benefit those at the top and no matter what you do they will always have the upper hand, bitcoin changes all of that, that does not mean there are not going to be very wealthy individuals but at least we are all operating under the same rules.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: BEEN IN THIS GAME FOR 6 YEARS on: January 23, 2020, 01:19:09 AM
I've been in this field for about 7 years or so and I have learned a lot, I was there when the bitcoin price was only $ 230 or so and the price touched its ATH.  One thing that I want to do right now (which I didn't do in the past) is collecting bitcoin as much as possible, I regret when people told me that bitcoin would hit 15k or even more, at first I thought it couldn't happen but now I believe anything is possible, people are speculating that bitcoin can hit $ 100k, it's better for me to prepare.
It is a good thing that you have changed your attitude, but make sure that you can hold your coins until the growth in the market happens, there are many people that held their coins for a long time only to sell them at the worst possible time, it is important that you make up your mind and you are willing to hold your bitcoin for years or even at least for a decade, it is likely the bull run that will make bitcoin that valuable will come sooner but if you think you will have to hold for that long you will not make the mistake of selling too soon.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I Buy Bitcoin Now? on: January 23, 2020, 12:49:58 AM
If you will ask many people if you should now buy bitcoin, most of their answers will be yes. It really depends on tge situation, if the market is still in bearish, I do not prefer to buy bitcoin but the current situation of the bitcoin is now in the market reversal where we are now seeing highers highs and lower high which is a good sign that we are now in an uptrend. The best time to buy bitcoin is in the beginning of the bullish trend.
I know that during the last days we have seen an important recovery in the price of bitcoin and everyone is happy because of it but I am seeing a lot of indications that the price may go down during the next days and the price may experiment a correction, I am not saying the price is going to crash or anything like that, I am just saying that it could be a good idea you could wait for that correction to happen and then once the price goes down then you can buy bitcoin for a cheaper price.
why the price will make a correction? I don't think bitcoin price will increase very high right now, is there any hype before halving occurs so its makes bitcoin increase? but I didn't see it from halving before. usually it increases after halving occurs. but it is very possible that there will be a FUD before halving occurs. we also never know the price that is said to be low, if you look at the future, the current price should be said to be cheap because it is still below 10k.
If you want to know the answer to that then learn a thing or two about trading, just one day after I posted that the price went up and then there was a very important correction in the price of bitcoin, I am not an expert or anything but it was obvious the price will go down, right now things are not so obvious, the price could go either way so in my opinion the best thing to do is to watch the price attentively and see in which direction we see a breakout.
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: January 22, 2020, 04:00:15 AM
Crimes will be committed will all types or currencies including government fiat currency.  We can't use that as a reason to ban or over-regulate cryptocurrencies.
But that is exactly what it is going to happen, people are scared of freedom and bitcoin gives us freedom so they will want to regulate it, fortunately for us bitcoin was designed to avoid censorship and it does not matter what they do bitcoin will still be used by many people around the world, besides unless all the countries of the world agree to ban bitcoin then we will always have some place to use our bitcoin and the big holders could always move there and avoid the ban.
31  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bot trading domination: Time to panic? on: January 22, 2020, 03:32:36 AM
Unless bots provide a steady profitable income to everyone that uses it, there is no "domination" of bots, I can honestly go head to head with a bot and make money, bots are programmed to do same thing over and over again and they have patterns, humans can beat patterns every single time, you just lose when you are learning at worst but in the end you learn how they operate and try to go around those patterns and beat it, if a person plays the same exact way on chess every single time, you will eventually beat them as well.

Long story short bots are not AI right now, they can't make up their own minds, they are basically programmed by the developers to do same thing repeatedly and that is not good enough, that will not end up dominating anything until AI comes along and starts to make changes by itself.
Bots have limitations, as you say they do not really posses intelligence or the ability to adapt to the different circumstances of the market and while they will not beat an expert trader, they do not need to do it, they only need to beat the average trader and if their set of instructions are good enough I am sure they can do exactly that and generate profits for those running the bot, however I think people are exaggerating about the domination of bots since most people do not have the money, the ability or the confidence to run a bot.
32  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you holding Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2020, 02:58:40 AM
I'm currently holding because I believe that a bull run is just starting.  I will hold probably until next year and then sell when I have achieved a decent profit but hopefully before the next crash in price.
That is not really a bad plan just make sure to have some plan to comeback to the market in the case you sell too soon, during 2017 there were many stories of people that sold their coins at the beginning of the bull run since they thought that was the end only to be deceived by the market and you do not want to be one of those people, after all if a new bull run begins in this year or the next one we will be unable to tell how high the price of bitcoin may go.
33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie looking for some strategic advice on: January 22, 2020, 02:05:20 AM
Trading is a process, we cannot begin in becoming a day trader.
IMO, we can because we will surely gonna experiment until we improve, yes, day trading is hard but a trader if he is willing to learn and improve his knowledge its not impossible that he will be successful, it's not impossible to be successful in day trading but it's just not advisable for newbie to start with an aggressive amount.
But how likely it is for a newbie to become profitable as a day trader? There are people that have tried day trading for years and they still have nothing to show for their efforts, what are the chances that a newbie with even less knowledge about the market and how it moves could make more money than such person? It is better for newbies to begin as long term traders and then they should reduce the time frame of their trades and then after some months they could begin to day trade if they are successful.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to 2020, the year of cryptocurrency bull market. on: January 22, 2020, 01:38:13 AM
There are too many high hopes, but let's say that, of course. Nonetheless, 2020 could be a reasonable year on which to base the upcoming events, we have to face the fact that such events could change our expectations. Just be prepared for any scenario, and I bet we're going to be safe. It would be halving, but the price does not change immediately. However, scammers even make it much smarter than before.

It seems that almost everyone is expecting a fast growth in the market and obviously I would love to see that too but that is difficult for me to believe the growth we are seeing is sustainable, I fear the whales are playing with people and their desire to get profits and one day the price could crash and many people are going to lose their money, I do not want to be negative but that is what I am thinking about this growth, I just hope I am wrong but the possibility is still there.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to avoid fraudulent projects? on: January 21, 2020, 04:13:32 AM
Reading and reading more about the project and how realistic the project is in relation to its set goals and expectations is the only way to stay away from fraudulent projects. Fraudulent projects usually have unrealistic ideas and in the crypto world they don't really have a specific purpose. If you're slow in learning and reading, you're likely to invest without knowing it in fraudulent ventures.

Thats true we can avoid fraudulent projects if we are aware what to look into before making a decision to join or invest. There are many guide and factors to consider before participating in projects hence if you're careful and not easily believe those promises that seems real then you wont end up being a victim of these scammers.
If you begin to do that you will soon realize that most of the projects that you go through the trouble to check are scams and this is going to be discouraging if you want to invest your money or your time, I remember that years ago I did that experiment and even if my abilities as a scam detector were limited I was able to see that most of the projects in which I was interested were scams and when I realized that truth I decided to leave the market of icos and never come back.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: Two Years Ago, Bitcoin Was Over $19,000 — What Happened? on: January 21, 2020, 03:47:04 AM
Dec 17, 2017 will be remembered in the history of mankind, as bitcoin touched its ATH on that day. A value which no trading commodity has achieved in just a short span of 10 years. It was FOMO and FUD that pushed many to buy bitcoin and that took bitcoin beyond moon in Dec 2017 and then back to earth in Dec 2018. Nothing can happen but I don’t think we will see another bitcoin ATH very soon.
Many years ago people talked about the dot com bubble and how it was one of the biggest bubble and crashes in history and now if you take a look at the price of some of the stocks that went through it like Google you will see how small it is compared to its current price and most likely something similar it is going to happen to bitcoin, in a few years or decades people are going to look at the bull market of 2017 and will not understand how we could be so worried for bitcoin when at that time bitcoin will be worth several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright claims , today will be the last day for Bitcoins. on: January 21, 2020, 03:18:37 AM
Due to the recent market increase and good market trend,  saying bitcoin's last day as today will be a waste of reputation. Why? because people will keep on taking the opportunity to buy and will not believe on any FUDs anymore. That is mainly because most of the people are tired of waiting for the increase. So to make things easy, instead of believing on funds, we are inclined to seek profifs instead of loss.
For most of those that know a thing or two about Craig Wright he does not have any more reputation to waste, he is always making some claim and then he does not provide any evidence about it and the same is true about this, for someone that according to him created bitcoin he seems to hate it and wants it to disappear, but that is because he wants his scam coin to take over the market, something that will never happen and if it did I will get out of this market.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going beyond $14,000 before May, history repeating itself on: January 21, 2020, 02:51:36 AM
I'm not sure bitcoin will reach $ 14k before May. because right now the price of bitcoin is still stable at $ 8k. to be $ 14k means that bitcoin has to increase by around 70%. to be able to go up high of course there must be a strong push that causes the price of bitcoin to increase. hopefully the next 4 months there is good news that can push the increase in bitcoin.
All of those that want that history repeats itself are just showing that they would like for the opportunity to make money in the markets to appear again but they want that everything happens in the same way so they can maximize their profits and such people will never make money because that is not possible, if you want to make money then you need to be able to deal with the seemingly random nature of the markets since you never know what the price will do next with any degree of certainty.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has the crypto market reached its bottom yet? on: January 21, 2020, 02:31:35 AM
Yes, the market has already reached its bottom and in 2020 it has already grown slightly above the bottom, I hope that over time the market will only grow up.
Hmm, how do you know it is bottom or the half point of the downtrend?
I don't try to catch the falling knife because the wound will be bigger than whatever I will get in hand, from my experience. The experienced traders also think twice before buying the bottom which can go to the dippest level after the clicking to the first available "ask order". The crypto market's volatility can drain the energy of trader with melting account balance faster than a blink of an eye. I have seen such crazy volatility years ago, luckily the traders don't face such situations nowadays.
No one really knows when we have reached the bottom, but a lot of people like to pretend like they do, as you say that is impossible to know and it is only after the fact that you know that the price is not going to go down any further, but when the price is going down you have no way to know for sure that the price is not going to go down anymore, so it is important to be realistic about what we can do when the market is going down or otherwise we're going to buy at the wrong moment and lose money because of it.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: January 19, 2020, 04:20:51 AM
The reason altcoin isn't rising these days may have been due to excessively hyped 2017 Bull market.  So when the price goes beyond its actual value, there is a tendency to go down until it reaches its actual price value before it rises again.  Another thing during these hype years is the scam ventures. Most investors have been scammed, so the next wave of investors is likely to be somewhat reluctant to enter the crypto market before they recover their trust in the crypto market.

What happen in the previous years  really do affect the price of bitcoin together with other altcoins, many investors lose their trust in the market and pull out their investment, maybe instead of crypto they put that in forex or stock market, many ICO are being turned to shit because lack of investor and lack of support of the devs.
Thats true, we suffered in long bearish trend for alts and some investors are losing hope that it will back to its previous ath price thus they are switching to other investment opportunity out there.

If investors see an improvement to the market they might invest again and will start for the coins to bounce back. Hoping for alts to show some growth for us to take profit for waiting for so long but until its not happening lets us all be patient.
Altcoins need to show some improvement if they want to bring the attention of investors back them, we all know that more than anything investors want something and that is to earn money, and altcoins have been really bad at that during the last two years so we cannot really blame them if they are not interested in the market, so far we have seen a recovery in the market of altcoins but compared to their all time highs this is nothing and many investors are not going to invest in them even at the current prices.
