Perhaps future ICOs should use Iota for contributing  Cheesy

So much for Ethereum scalability...
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Quick. Name your top 3 coins that will be x100 in a year on: June 17, 2017, 10:45:36 PM
Three coins which are still grossly undervalued in my opinion:

VIA

$1.97MM in volume the last 24 hours, ppl &/or deep pockets are starting to notice how under-valued this coin is compared to it's peers.

edit, 6 hours or so later: now $2.28MM

How much do you think is a reasonable value? Might jump in, looks very promising!!

I'd rather not say to be honest, but way more than it's sitting at presently, it's my 3rd highest crypto holding after BTC & DASH presently, for those interested as I get asked this quite a lot, my hodling then followed by Strat, GAME, CRW, DCR, GNT and a few ICO coins as well, plus another due to be added to BFX soon (easy to guess, but I'll edit to add after completing a large P2P buy tomorrow all being well)...

I've seen your name mentioned a few times and nearly messaged before just out of curiosity. Did you earn your btc through trading or we're you a really early miner / buyer of bitcoin? I know that you we're with dash very early on and probably made a decent chunk there

I started in the summer of 2011, buying and trading, my cheapest buys was when the price fell Nov/Dec 2011 to under $2/BTC (on UK exchange), I took an early liking to LTC and was the largest holder with 620,000 LTC when it went to $48 at the end of November 2013 (base price 10 cents), about a year ago and earlier I was the largest holder of DASH (darkcoin), now I'm quite diversified, I got 200,000 ETH at the ICO for 100 BTC but sold them far too early, but was playing safe and had just found my dream house.

Edit to add, I'm the largest holder of Viacoin and have been since way back summer of 2014

SHIFT

the most undervaluated coin, they are about to release PHANTOM (an alpha of the new decentralized WEB), with storage (like SiaCoin) + smarts contracts  it could hit EASY top 15 marketcap.

XBY

Hi,

I created an thread about the best scalable coin:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1965832.0

While I like XtraBytes for its uniqueness I was not aware that it could be a scalability solution, as well. But one answer in the other thread stated it is very scalable.
So can XtraBytes really handle much more transactions in a second than PoW or PoS coins?

If yes this coin would not be only a lot but extremely undervalued right now.

Yeah we know.  Grin

Would be nice to have a confirmation for that (Fatoshi already claimed it in the other thread). Why exactly is XtraBYtes super scalable?

(...)

I agree that XBY is a good coin and that's why I am invested in it. But it's not a totally unique coin. It is based on the IOTA Tangle concept. PoSign being the replacement term for Tangles. That concept was talked about in 2015. If anyone can show me XBY is unique to IOTA I would be interested.

Actually IOTA is based on DAG which isnt a unique concept to IOTA in fact Byteball has used the concept already before IOTA. XBY uses a very different approach using Chords P2P concept..static signed nodes, and a virtual layer that makes blocks. There is nothing like it. Whatever the criticism you want to give XBY it cant be its not unique.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] æternity blockchain ∞ GET AE TOKEN ∞ [PoS x PoW | Smart Contracts] on: June 14, 2017, 10:32:05 AM
When will the ICO tokens be distributed and Aeternity start trading?

The website says 'after security audit' but is there an eta for that?
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOT] IOTA Speculation on: June 14, 2017, 06:54:23 AM
This is too good an idea to not jump on immediately, buy and HODL! Top 3 coin easily.

I agree. It was a bit crazy and unfortunate (for me as a new investor) how high this started on exchanges but it actually rightfully took it's place. This is Crypto 3.0.

Why don't you ask your question in the Iota announce thread?

Some nice infomercials on Iota:

Why do these Devs think its okay to sell so many coins before putting it on an exchange? It makes it seem so sketchy.

Let the average investor get in cheap. It shows that you're are honest and transparent about the distribution of tokens.

I think this will be a big lesson to be learned as more people come into this space with their own coins.

Just the opposite, they did let people in cheap, as you can see if you read the 450 pages of this thread. What they didn't do is hype it like crazy like those newer ICOs.

Circulating Supply
2,779,530,283 IOT

Max Supply
2,779,530,283 IOT

They sold all the iota to the funders and now funders have to sell their iota's to other people.

No PoW, no fee, no economy.

Fucking ponzi.

If everything is free with iota,.. Why would i pay for an IOTA? Don't make any sense dawg

Lots of assumptions and little understanding. Consider reading up on the project.

IOTA is superior to eth. No transaction fees, and unlimited scalability.

Brutal dump incoming.

No. You guys just don't get it. You have no idea what's gettting ready to happen.

Just heard about IOTA, what is going to happen?

This is why I do believe we need government to step in to regulate this ICO shit.  It makes people look stupid to invest in something that only shows promises but no real working product yet.

The ICO was two years ago and raised just over a million dollars.. There is so much people don't understand.

So Mr. Windjc,  Do you think this IOTA is better than GameCredits?

IOTA is better than ETH. No transaction fees and unlimited scalability. It's Crypto 2.0.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 13, 2017, 04:11:32 PM
yes, yes, yes $1.7 billion valuation.  It makes me feel very stupid! Grin

RISE OF MACHINES.

IOTA is a whole different league. Its not a blockchain, trillions of dollars worth of IOT machines will be connected on this platform. If this thing is successful.

Zero transaction fee and super fast.

Speculative buy.

Better than Skynet.  Cheesy

Market cap is still low

Exactly, one of the few contenders which deserves the high market cap.

Should be #2.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 13, 2017, 03:13:38 PM
So let me get this right. (Please correct me)

Bitfinex price is for 1 MI (Mega) IOTA which is 1,000,000

Total supply is 2,779,530,283,277,761

So Total supply / 1,000,000 / 21,000,000 BTC = 132.35

So for every 1 BTC there are 132.35 Mega IOTA

So if it was priced equal to BTC it would be  1 / 132.35 = 0.00755572

Which means current price of 0.000235 is 0.03x of marketcap of Bitcoin

amirite?

How the hell does that even happen overnight?

It's not overnight, it's two years in the making. Price just increased 10x times overnight:

Where do you check market cap and such info?
Still not shown on coinmarketcap..
Where on bitfinex i can see these details?

Right now you have to manually calculate it...

current price = .00021000 X total supply 2,779,530,283 X current BTC price 2740 = $1,599,341,724

Still WAY too high!

But is it really? If you look at some of the Shitcoins which have a market cap over a billion...  Wink

ETH started out at $45,000,000. Took it almost 2 years to get to where it is now.

But that was before the whole madness hype started. Also, IOTA didn't start today, it's been around and traded for a while, it just started trading on exchanges today.
