Update
Development The 28nm BE300 engineering batch tapeout was in September 16 with TSMC. The power efficiency is 0.225W/G to 0.343W/G ranging from core voltage of 0.55V to 0.70V. The two main mistakes made in BE200 were dedicatedly addressed and avoided in the whole design stage so we do not expect surprise in frequency and power consumption in real products.
14nm/16nm projects are at pre-evaluation and pre-design stage. It has to be done in 2015 but the starting time of placing orders depends on overall gain vs (NRE/R&D/risks).
Led by Block Erupter Prisma, a series of efforts to reduce component-wise cost and system-wise power efficiency were made.
Production As known by OEM producers, several large batches of BE200 had problems with popping chips affecting whole boards due to the misoperation from the packaging company. It hindered afterwards chip sales and delayed the starting time of Tube/Prisma sales. Later supply of BE200 has no such problem and filtering process on old BE200 is also underway.
Because of the non-open-source status of Prisma and high cost of all other designs, BE200 sales were stopped. Rest BE200 chips will likely be consumed by Prisma and succeeding revises.
The mass production time of BE300 in terms of chip-out date is February to March, 2015.
Operation As sales were seriously hindered by unexpected yield issue of BE200, we had missed many dates with financing the big mining farm of our own. It is still hopeful that all good BE200 will be turned to hashrate before too late and we have liquid profits again before BE300, but from the big picture, the missing of target on BE200, the mis-judgment on OEMs and later yield/financing problem, limited our expansion and profit in this year. But luckily R&D on later products is not much affected.
AM will continue to develop new products, expand its mining farms, deliver machines to miners, as well as make money for shareholders.
There is no any foreseeable plan from AM side on force buy-back, dumping, or any activities on the open stock market. There is no plan of privatization either. The management, R&D, sales as well as marketing is being more and more separated and dedicated to professionals, but the founders will continue to be heavily involved and drive AM in the more and more competitive market. Scenarios of BE100 vs graphics card may never happen again, but we need catch any opportunity on timing window of leads at either technology or deploying/financing resources to win the last battle when mining is still an under-capitalized game.
Any way, thanks, FC. Although I lost a lot of money on AM shares, I'm glad to hear departments of AM is aiming to be more separated and professional. Packaging problem is obvious due to the absence of quality management system. If AM sent engineer to package factory, this failure would be avoided.

Crash on a 200 shares buy?? Exactly the opposition I think.

damn, so apparently, FC (and boardmembers) prolonged absence could partly be explained by the fact that china has indeed restricted access to bitcointalk: bitcointalk has been totally blocked by china interenet so i cannot login very often
are there anymore chinese people in here It would not be a problem to FC, don't forget he is smart enough to design amazing miners. Cross the wall set by Chinese government is not difficult, I'm in China also.

Good to see you finally made it!

There is nothing so surprising about this design. They have simply down-clocked the chips and doubled the number per board. They could have done this in June and had the most efficient machine on the market but the chips were worth more at the time (at least that was the thinking) so it didn't make sense.
Here's the math: 240MHz/270MHz(clock ratio or prisma to tube) * 800(1 Tube hash rate) * 2 (for the doubling of the chips) =1.4 TH/s
With some extra cooling and a little know-how, you can run at 1.6+ THs with Tube-like effifciency. (NB over-clocking the proprietary design is not recommended as it could result in a damaged product)
While I'm not impressed by the new design, I am immpressed with AMs ability to maximize the value of their product as computational difficulty rises.
XBTec( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=626694.0) who employs AM's chip has already released miners at this lever of power consumption, I guess they also followed this idea.

Saying to make "investments" based on rumors, is like trying to make a living buying lottery tickets and call it doing "business". I can see that most people who are "investors" here are extremely amateurish. So let me give some words of advice:
1) Never speculate, don't buy anything by hearing shit from third parties. Gather data yourself. 2) Don't be "Dumb Money": in the business and investment world they classify investors as "smart money" and "dumb money". "Smart money" are investors who are also experts in the field you are entrepreneuring, so the main capital is not the money they are bringing to the table but their expertise and connections that would eventually be a great help for the growth of the company. "Dumb Money" is what most AM shareholders are: bunch of clueless chickens who are just sitting on their chairs asking to the entrepreneur when they will see their money back. Not only they are not providing any help, but they are also an annoyance. For future entrepreneurs out there: never take "dumb money". For future investors: never invest in something you don't understand or can't help it to grow. 3) Never invest if you can't afford to lose. 4) Don't try to get quick profits by instilling FUD. That is extremely shortsighted and moronic, especially destructive for startups.
I declined to take commissions when I was bringing business to my investments, refusing finders fee and sales commissions because my main goal is to provide value to my investments. The end game is not some money now, but astronomical price when the companies exits (when they sell the company).
If you are a true investor in AM the best you can do is to think how you can assist to your company to be leading in the market. Can you connect them with potential buyers? Do you know a place with cheap electricity? Do you have connections with financiers? Or at least, can you refrain from talking shit about the company you invested? It is fucking moronic and self-defeating to become an annoyance and expecting them to outperform when you are staining their image. Be fucking smart.
Based on your theory and your frequency of talking, I think you need to replace your donation link with AM's AD in your signature, at least.

I think massive manufacturing and deployment costed most of profits in May and June. Based on current btc price, FC put sales the highest priority is right. Massive deployment is quite different from personal mining. If it's not economic feasible for more than three months, it means not profit loss but bankrupt.
Apparently, FC gave too much dividends last year, he may want to be a small smart company last year. This idea lead to short of capital and human resource which increased the difficulty for R&D and expanding. Too much dividends in last year also pushed AM stock price too high, but they can't last it with their former strategy, and then the stock price collapsed. It hurt the company's reputation and most stockholders' interests. FC is a talent engineer but lack of experience of running a public company. Hope he learnt from last year's failure and seize this final opportunity.

why not AM build a public hashrate pool? The affiliates can join this pool, then the pool will be big enough to attract outsiders. Our dividends will include the fees, at least AM's affiliates don't need to pay the fee to other pools.
