On CoinMarketCap, the Announcements link is still pointing to the old bitcointalk thread. Someone should let a dev know.
Thanks for the heads up - it's correct now. Very welcome! Glad I was able to pickup some Zen ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Now for some dumb questions.
What is the difference between making a "backup" of my Swing wallet and Exporting my private keys? Do I need to do both to backup my wallet? I would assume I should store these on a USB in a safe place.
In the swing wallet on Windows, go to Own Addresses tab at the top, see your wallet in the area below? Right click and click Obtain Private Key... That is the Private Key, privkey or AKA the only thing you need to own the accompanying Public Key AKA pubkey and then a shorter address shown to you in the UI of your wallet, which is what you give others as your wallet address. The difference is backing up the wallet.dat is just a file backup quickly readable by the core client. Those privkeys you export are the real ticket... if you EVER lose your data and comp or w/e... as long as you have those privkeys, you will always be able to open a new wallet on a new machine, and import them. Once it syncs the transactions into the new wallet.dat file (automatic as part of the import privkey process) your funds will be available again for you to send and receive to that address. Put your privkey on paper in safe places where they wont be lost and encrypt the original wallet.dat to a USB or even CD/DVD. REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD!!!!! Thanks much for the detailed info. That all makes sense. I guess my only concern is if my pc were to be compromised in some way, is there any way to put a pw of some sort on the Swing Wallet itself? I would assume as of now if someone were able to remotely access my pc they could just open my Swing Wallet and send my coin to an address of their choosing. Maybe I am just paranoid.. Not paranoid, those are good questions. Caring about your crypto security is paramount because you are your own bank here. For now it appears the encrypt wallet feature is not activated in the wallet itself. It was suggested you use another encryption software to lock up the wallet.dat file. You will have to decrypt it manually then start the wallet software to use it. Then close it and encrypt it again manually. Soon it will be embedded. that would be a great feature. Can't wait till we are on Trezor!!!

Anyone using the windows swing wallet? Is is safe to pull my Zen off Bittrex and use it my primary wallet for Zen?
Thanks!
I'm using Swing wallet for both way transactions, and everything working so far. Be sure that you are on correct fork check you have latest version of wallet. Always backup your wallet.dat before any change and you will be ok! You can try probe coins, or small amount 0.01 for example, then you can be sure 100% Thanks! My wallet is syncing now. I will send a token amount to give it a test. It is nice to Zen price holding up so well with alts all RED. There must be some demand

Wallet Update to Fix Security Issues.
Ralf SThu 6:46pm Hi @team,
Today we have released a security update for our wallet (v6.6). The login and transactions are rewritten to safe offline requests. So your keys will never leave your computer.
Attention to all delegates (mainnet + testnet), please update your wallets asap too, using the following command:
./shift_manager.bash update_wallet If you are using a public wallet and have doubts whether somebody got access to your private keys: to be 100% sure move your funds to a brand new address. We lowered our fees to 0.01 Shift for sending, and 0.1 for creating a second signature. So that shouldn't stop you.
This had to be fixed with priority, we hope you'll understand, more updates to follow soon. Stay tuned!
Replies in +general or +testnet, thank you.
Updated! thanks ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I invested in ZenCash since the fork from Zclassic. The price has obviously gone down, but I am really pleased with how things have been progressing. Way to stick with it devs! Where is the most active forum for Zen? Would like to contribute ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) https://forum.zensystem.io/thanks, its a bit empty. Is it more active than the slack?

It isn't a scam. There are some devs that put a lot of effort into developing tech for Shift. The community is fairly active on Ryver.

What is the main purpose of RISE? Facilitating online games and stuff?
You can find out more in depth in the forums not reall about facilitating gaming more so on providing a user friendly platform for people to build off of SDK APPS/DAPPS(which devs have completed SDK APPS). While we do have an ongoing project with an online casino tho that's where "Chipz" airdrop will come to play once that project is done. But you can read more on our forums and the website should be updated soon. any idea when the website will be up?

Shift Coins from roughly July 2016
I admit, I have not been keep tracking of this coin. I did mine it during the July time period of 2016. Recently I wanted to do an inventory of my alt coins, and I found a folder called Phantom-bundle... looked a little deeper and oh ya, I have some Shift coins.
I noticed on page 1 that there was a manual coin swap but I'm afraid I have missed the transfer window by roughly a year. I do not see my address on the shift block explorer, I am assuming this is because of the manual swap.
So, is there any chance I can salvage my older Shift coins?
Thanks
Hello, You should go on the Shiftnrg Ryver forum and ask one of the devs. Hopefully they can help you out.

Well this is good news. The Bittrex wallet is no longer in maintenance mode for RISE... This means THE SWAP IS COMPLETE!!!

You keep saying no one is answering your questions, but Ralph did.
Umm what? When did I ever say that? I already asked the devs about the wallet security hole at Ryver and the response I got in return has already been posted here. Then I asked another question regarding when the new version of the wallet will be released and there was no response to that. Some people want to know this specific bit. I don't know why you are posting the original response everywhere which everyone already knows about. Not everyone knows what the devs are saying on Ryder. I just don't want the impression floating around that the wallet update is not being worked on.

This doesn't look good. Still time to fix this, but I'm surprised there was no urgency even when they knew about it
After getting the above response, I asked the devs when the new version of the web wallet will be released. No response so far. I'll post here if I get any. This needs to be fixed on an urgent basis. After what happened with Parity hack, I don't think I can sleep easy until this is fixed. Shift also needs a desktop lite client. Web wallets cannot be trusted. No answer about it yet ? Nope. This is the response a dev named Ralph S gave the Ryder forum a few days ago. Some of you mentioned this post about a warning for LSK, SHIFT, RISE. https://boards.4chan.org/biz/thread/2836956 There is no reason to panic, we are aware of that API endpoint and the security risk this could cause. They do have a point, and it is important to repeat: ALWAYS use the OFFICIAL https wallet, if you are not running your own node! No need to say that we NEVER log input. Some users who lost their keys wish we would though. We do have a fix for this, to be released in the next wallet update. Where we don't use this endpoint at all, and sign transactions at the client side to broadcast to our main nodes. That way your private keys are safe, because they aren't sent at all. You can compare it to the way MyEtherWallet works. We hope this explains the case and answers your questions.

So do we vote for more than one pool? Or if we vote for more than one does that mess up forging?
Hello, Vote for a many delegates and delegate pools as you like! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You can vote for 33 at a time and up to 101 total. It costs 1 shift to vote, so try to vote for as many pools and delegates in one vote as possible. So then which pool would pay out to me that i voted for? All of the pools you vote for will payout. So you can vote for every pool that is forging (top 101) if you like.
