Weird...

This happen to anyone else?

When I look at the miner firmware/openwrt, it says my miner is now hashing at 152 gh (looking at bottom left number on cgminer status tab), yet when I look at btcguild, it says I'm at over 200 gh/s and the shares and payouts match the 200+ number.

Wonder why....
22  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 27, 2014, 06:06:14 PM
FINALLY figured out the prob...i'm sure this would have been super obvious to everyone else but....

When I moved the miner to .1. domain level, I thought I was going to still be communicating with it through the ethernet...and that's why it wasn't able to find the miner at .1.

I finally realized that the miner needed to me hooked into the router at that point.

The router isn't close to my miner, so i had to go wireless...couldn't get the miner wireless to work, so I ended up running the ethernet cable from the miner right into the LAN port of a range extender (that was already configured). Worked like a charm.

Stock everything, nothing changed, and i'm running at about 197 to 201 gH/s steady. Woke up this morning and it was down to 38gh...I just restarted the machine and went back to 201. frequency is set at 1400 even.

Thanks to everyone helping me!!!

Looks like i'll need to change the PSUs from what everyone is saying. Maybe then I could get the 220 that everyone else is gettin'!

so, mtnminer was nice enough to spend some time on teamviewer with me and attempt to set up....we couldn't get it up and running.

The miner seems to be just fine. Each time, we moved the laptop to the 0 domain, then threw the miner on the 1 level and when we went back to default and tried to go there, but no go. even the pings came back host unreachable

afterwards, i reset the miner router and started from scratch, but no go.

i was able to access the miner and firmware on the 0 domain just fine...that miner just does not want to go to 1.

My next choice - move my router [which is on 1] to 0. Since my miner likes 0 so much.

Thoughts?
Have you setup gateway on you pc network properties?

On another side, yeah, if your miner likes o so much then just use it.

I don't think I have. How would I?

Turns out, verizon wont let me change the gateway on my home router.
24  Bitcoin / Mining support / BTmine / Avalon clone / Can't get the miner to be recognized on .1. level on: January 25, 2014, 10:23:11 PM
Followed the guides and the miner seems to be just fine...in that it starts up and I can find it on the 0 domain/network level.

So, I move the laptop to the 0 domain, then put the miner on the .1. level.
then change back to auto obtain ip
then restart miner

When I then go into my browser and type the new ip that I designated on .1., it doesn't come up.
...even the pings came back host unreachable

afterwards, i reset the miner router and started from scratch, and I am able to find it back on .0. again no prob. Try again and no go.

I run IP scanners and it doesn't come up under anything. I go back to .0. and it's not there. Have to reset my miner router again to find it on .0.

I tried to just move my router to .0., but apparently, verizon doesnt let you change the gateway

any thoughts?

Following those instructions on the previous page, I set my laptop to 192.168.0.55
then found it at 0.10x
then set it to 1.21x
svaed it, then swithched back to auto
then looked at 1.2x for the miner and nothing.
router is 1.x

I just found the reset button and pressed it...maybe i can start from scratch again.
Any clue where I went wrong?

What ip did you set you miner to 192.168.0.?  or 192.168.1.?  and what address did you have you pc at when you were successfully connected to your miner 192.168.?.?  Do you know what I range your router is set too 192.168.?.?   If you can provide these details, perhaps I can help you diagnosis this issue.

Mtnminer

On the last step, you leave the miner set to an IP you choose, set you laptop or pc back to DHCP.  Then access the miner by putting it's ip into your browser.

I hope that helps

Mtnminer

Thanks. That was the last step I took. I set it to the IP that I selected. Then set my computer back to 'obtain auto' and then opened a browser and tried to go to the IP I set it to....nuthin.

And I don't see a reset button to change it back or a way to trip OpenWrt to failsafe.

I tried the angryip scanner and it didn't even show anything live at the IP # I created...and I tried anything that was live. Nuthin...

Take your laptop over to the Miner and connect an ethernet cable into it and connect the other side to your laptop.  Then...

Pick your Local Area Connection (you should only have 1, but I run my desktop via NIC Teaming so it says #4).  The icon will look the same.  Double click of course.

Click the Properties button (highlighted)

Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click properties.

Check Use the Following IP Address:

You can hit ok as you do not need any other setting for setting up the miner.  You will have to go back to this and set it to Obtain Automatically when you have the miner setup.

Next open whatever web browser of your choice.

YOUR IP will be the one on the case.  It should bring you here.

Click Network up top and click the edit button.

Then set the IPv4 address to 192.168.1.(Whatever number so you can connect to it instantly).
(EXAMPLE since you have 192.168.1.XXX subnet).
IP Address: 192.168.1.20
Gateway (Router IP): 192.168.1.1  (or if you have UVerse or anyone else that uses 192.168.1.254 for their modems).
Custom DNS: Whatever you set for gateway.

Click save and apply.  It should eventually become non-responsive and at that point you can connect your Miner to your router and can access it from the PC.  You will use the IP Address you set to connect to it.  Also remember you need to turn your laptop back to DHCP (Obtain IP Address Automatically).

Thank you so much for detailing exactly what to do!!!!

Followed everything to the t, but when I reset to obtain auto and then tried to access the ip I set, it could not connect.

Any thoughts on what to do now?

(bought on the 10th. They said 11th. Received today)

So (and I hate sounding like such a newbie), what now?

Is their a post that someone walks though it, or do I follow the regular avalon user guide at: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon#User_Guide ?

FYI - I ordered mine (1) on the 10th (although they have it down as the 11th)
Received my tracking number.
As of right now, it's in Cincinnati, OH.
Last stop - NY.

I think you can remove the Xtreme miners...

Havent they already been proven a scamm?

Not sure...People are quick to hit the scam button on here. I read some threads, but nothing looked conclusive. Please share the link if this is a scam for sure. At the least, I can link to it and warn people.

The Block Erupter Cubes could be on there. 32-38gh/s

Thanks!

Here is a first draft at a comparison between ASIC hardware available on the market right now. Although it is not complete. I will be doing my best to update and maintain:

ASIC Hardware Comparison 2014 (Spreadsheet)

Seeing as there are already some missing parts, I am happy to grant access to reputable forum members to jump in and make edits themselves.

Feel free to make suggested edits in this thread and/or send me your email via PM if you are interested in making edits yourself.

Thanks.

Add bitmine.ch and antminer u1 USB
Smiley

Added bitmine.ch, but skipping the Antminer U1 since I'm trying to keep this comparison to 25 gH/s and above.
Thanks for the input!

Absolutely perfect. No modded cgminer, no modded drivers, no modded anything. Fan speed, clock speeds, and temp display works flawless...

Super easy. Install 13.10, "saucy salamander" then install beta 13.11 drivers released 1/8/13. Then, install cgminer 3.7.2 and go to town.

Haven't "tuned" the cards at all yet. I want 5MH/s from this one rig  Wink

.05btc bounty!!!

So, do you think this is the case even for four? {290x} I'm downloaded Ubuntu now...

I'm having a problem keeping 1 stable with win7, nonetheless four or six.

I have:
Four Sapphire r9 290x cards
GA 990FXA-UD5 [mobo]
AMD FX 4130 4-core 3.8GHz
12GB RAM
1500w Enermax
Four 16 x 16 pci extenders [not powered]
(optical, WD 350gb hdd, Windows 7)

pics of my rig here: https://imgur.com/a/uKm87

Also, this is my first rig and may be missing something obvious to others.
All drivers are installed plus win 7
In the bios, I didn't really do anything. It was already set to boot pcie 1
Not sure what else to do in bios.

When trying just one card:
- I have to try multiple slots multiple times.
- Each time, either windows is scrambled, gets frozen at startup, looks 8-bit and distorted, or no signal, no beep
- when it gets going and looks perfect (1 out of 20 starts), it eventually crashes
- When i try other slots (like the x16 ones), it doesn't even beep once, or does the 1 long, 3 short beeps (gpu code).
- Once I got windows up with 2 cards, but one had an error 43
- I've tried to download the updated catalyst, but as it's installing, when the screen goes black a few times, it eventually never comes back.
- Tried uninstalling the drivers and restarting and installing, but trying to start windows without this driver and using this card is damn near impossible. Did it once though.
- Sometimes windows is going, but the monitor stops and says no signal, but the pc sounds no diff than a second ago...like it's still running win7
- If I try to start with two cards in any slot combo, i get the 1 long, 3 short beeps

.05btc bounty to the one that get's me up and running.

If you don't see it listed above, assume I haven't done it..even if basic

Thanks!!

Bunch of pessimistic, butthurt babies in this thread...

If you're questioning whether or not you should take the risk for financial reasons you probably should spend your money on groceries or diapers for your child.

+100

So true, were not talking about a lot of money here, I mean at most its a couple grand for a 25MHS rig.

Just a couple of grand? Am i missing something here?
After converting to USD, I come up with:

$8,910

That's a LOT of grand Wink
