But if you would like to propose a solution (a real one, with implementation details and all) do it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

Sure, here it is - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4542153.0

In relation to this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3628532.0

Some say that it is ok to advertise suspicious products on this forum and that the senior members warnings are enough and that each individual is responsible for his own investments. This is partly true. Why partly? Because even though we are all responsible for our investmebts, this forum still stays as a method of delivering such scams, ie making them possible, intentionally or not. Senior member warnings are enough investment wise. However, if there are no details about the advertised product (be it scam or not), thread should be locked until proof is presented. If there is no proof (video of the device in action, face, name and the address of the individual/company that is producing, etc) thread should be locked for good, and person should be tagged a scammer or banned permanently. This is not a brain surgery, please keep the things simple and effective and above all, try to keep the name and the reputation of this forum clean.

This forum should have some kind of mechanism to protect the users from these scams. This way bitcointalk and it`s moderators are accomplices in the scam.
I like that approach. Let's all get scammed and blame the forums for it! It's like a capital protected structured investment! What could possibly go wrong? Cheesy
You can play dumb if you like and keep that semi philosophical attitude. The truth is that people got scammed and this forum let (by taking no action - helped) that person scam others. If there is no sufficient proof of existence of said device, thread locked, person banned. What we have here is a 40+ pages scammy thread.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do I start? on: June 22, 2018, 11:30:12 AM
Hello everyone, I'm a newcomer, but I really want to learn how to mine. How can I start my study? Can I recommend some elementary teaching? I'm currently idle 4 video cards at 1080, I don't know if it's useful, I hope Enthusiastic people can help me.

With hashrates constantly going up, while coin prices constantly going down, it is absolutely unwise to start anything right now.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: June 21, 2018, 10:54:44 AM
You can be guaranteed that if someone does find a coin with a decent ROI, they won't be posting about it. As soon as a coin gets out onto one of the calculators, R.I.P. your ROI. Too many miners have mined and immediately sold to pay for their cards, this can only mean downward pressure on every single coin out there.

Exactly this. Too many miners that dump everything they mine is a huge pressure for every new mineable coin.

Why do you even include Blake and other ASIC-algos on GPU mining software?

Seriously, why?
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: OhGodAnETHlargementPill not working that good after recent updates? on: June 15, 2018, 03:18:07 PM
51mh/s with latest nvidia drivers, but WITHOUT latest win patch. pl 60(!) core+80 mem+600. evga sc2 1080 ti. why would you have win updates enabled on a mining rig?

Is the pool fee on eggpool 10%??

If you have time and will, single coin mining is always more profitable. I have used Nemos for some time, but always ended getting payed less. Algo switching is for the lazy, way too busy, or people that do not have much knowledge.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: "Best" Zcash miner? on: May 19, 2018, 09:06:41 PM
Dstm miner zm 0.6.1 is what you are looking for for equihash algo. As for bminer, i`ve heard stories of it doing some unsavoury things in the past, something with keeping an open port or something. I can`t tell if that had changed tho, or is it completely safe to use, since i`ve never used it myself, been more than happy with dstm.

Professional rendering is done on cpu`s, not gpu`s.

Hopefully OP didn't overpay for the ti and is doing due diligence when selecting coin to mine as barely making a dollar a day seems to be on the very rather low end.

yeah the topic was started back in march when the mining tanked hardest. a bit better situation now.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin is the best to Solo-Mine ? on: May 13, 2018, 10:54:29 PM

ETHash Algo : 50 MH/s x 16 = 800 MH/s

FTFY. And those cards could be pressed even harder to squeeze 54-55 mh/s. But i was gentle and careful.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 13, 2018, 10:29:05 PM
Don't worry guys, you wont be using your GPU's for mining much longer anyway.

I'm going all in as a supplier in the sonm.io network. Livenet launches in june, but only with crypto mining IaaS to begin with.
IaaS crypto mining is basically automated mining with profit switching, aka a contract that will be generated to mine the most profitable coin when your rig is idle/has no other contracts/deals.

Later on customers will be able to rent your GPU/CPU/HDD or internet bandwidth as well. Your rig(s) will always sell to the highest bidder, which means profit will always match or be better than regular GPU mining.

Honestly, i can`t wait for this to become a reality.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 07, 2018, 04:22:21 PM
Maybe it will spark some bright young mind to figure out how to unlock those mythical disabled CUDA cores on 1070s. We need  an "equilargement pill" or equihash equalizer tablet or something now to go with the ethlargement pill.

Hahahahaaa good luck with that. Those cores were disbled for a reason. If they weren`t, chip would probably end up in 1070 ti. If they are disabled that means that they are either not functional, or the chip is unstable.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 05, 2018, 07:05:43 PM
ETH currently has 266,000 GH. So that is equivalent of 8,866,666 RX 570/580 cards. Imagine if they went PoS. The current XMR network (500 MH or so) has about the what would equal 62,500 570/580 cards on it. So if let's say only 200,000 of those ETH cards when to XMR... XMR would be much less profitable to mine and you would still have 8,666,666 cards to still spread over other coins...

Well, not all of the miners will continue. Many will sell their rigs since profitability on other algos is not that great.

Until other big players look at the value proposition and decide to full on compete with Bitmain we are stuck.

Exactly. It seems however that it requires a lots of cash to develop and produce an asic chip. Buying off one of their top engineers would be the best option.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining still profitable? on: May 05, 2018, 06:57:56 PM
Dont know about the vps part, but as far as gpu mining goes, enter only if you can find cheap gpu`s. And i mean cheap like half the regular price and that means used. Other options are waiting for new gen of gpu`s or to buy one of the asics that are spreading like a plague these days...

Didnt zcash dev already said that he doesnt care about  asics and that its to much hustle for him to do anything about it because he thinks thats the fight without chances to win Undecided Also add zencash on the list of coins that plan to fight asics, also anyone have idea how much % of all equihash hash zec takes?

What is.. zcash...?  Tongue

sounds familiar. i think it is just spelled wrong, hmm bcash maybe?
yea, familiar to me too, but can`t recall exactly... ah! it came to me! that was some shitcoin that was developed by some company that was bought by large asic manufacturer.. Grin
