21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - hybrid fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin- 7% Airdrop every week on: March 05, 2018, 01:28:06 PM
I think the main topic for BTX is to get listed on new exchanges quickly as possible.
One of the big ones I mean (Bittrex, Binance, etc.)
Cryptopia is very unstable for an investor, Bit-Z is mostly for asian markets, and the 24h Volume on Hit-BTC is kind of ridicoulos, it's like 5 btc per day.
I don't know maybe the problem is the liquidity, maybe once airdrop will end dump's phase will be useful to create liquidity on the market.
Personally I think this is one of the most interesting projects I've followed on bitcointalk, it will be a shame after airdrops' end having a smooth decline Sad

We live in a global world and economy, especially in crypto. I am very happy using Bit-Z, even though I am not living in Asia. It works perfectly for folcs living in the Americas, Africa, Europe.

I have a question about participation to airdrops:

I checked the Top 500 rich list on BitCore Blockchain Explorer
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/#!rich

All addresses that show (at time of writing this post) the last change as 6 days and 11 hours have obviously participated in airdrop and have received their share of the 6% airdrop from last Monday.

There are however almost half of the Top 500 addresses (236 out of 500) that have not seen a change since 50 days or more.

1) Do I correctly assume that these addresses have not received any airdrop?

2) why would somebody with such large sums of BTX(range from 3000 to 77000) not register for airdrops?

Those are the btc holders that got the last 50% btc snapshot in November. Probably don’t even know they have them sitting in their wallets. Or can’t be bothered to import their priv keys.

How could a BTC holder receive a 50% snapshot and have it pushed to a BTX address / wallet if the BTC holder is unaware? If they are unaware, then they also don‘t have a BTX wallet. So It would be that they don‘t bother importing their private keys.

Or these are such poor guys, who lost their private keys.

What about Devs, are they excluded from receiving airdrops?

Interesting inflow of new accounts promoting either exchange. Are you from Pakistan?

It does not help anyone who has their coins hijacked from the Cryptopia thieves.

Agree.
There is a reason if some people use an exchanger instead of another, don't you think guys? Personally i don't use Bit-z cause they have high fees, a minimum of 5btx withdraw and a maximum of just 100 BTX ( after that, you need verification, and it sucks!).
And for the ones that promotes Bit-z, how this can be helpful for people that losing money on Craptopia? Cheesy

What is wrong with verification?  Huh Huh
These verification regulations for fiat/crypto onramps and offramps are necessary to keep the crypto world as clean as possible from slave traders, drug dealers, money launderers, and other criminal scumbags.

I can't use the new wallet on my Macbook. The new version Core 0.15.0.2 is not compatible with the latest macOS. How can I fix this problem? And why is it not compatible with the latest macOS?

Same here 0.15.0.2 does not work on my macOS 10.13.3

The software is still shown as PRE-RELEASE on Github. Only stable release available on Github is 0.14.1.6.

Try this guide.

http://macappstore.org/boost/

After you install boost, the wallet should work fine..

Thanks keyzersoze! That advise of yours worked perfectly after installing the boost portable C++ libraries. The new QT client upgraded the database and started without problems.

Now in the meantime I see that v0.15.0.2 for mac OS is no longer available from the bitcore.cc page and it is also no longer listed on github (https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitCore/releases).
Was there a problem with the pre-release mac OS version 0.15.0.2?
Or is it still safe to use it?

As every monday since I joined, the value of BTX is dropping more than the percentage of airdrop which has been distribuited. Holders with weak hands are selling the airdrop received today. Not many of them have yet fully understood the magic of compounding interest...

Anyway, we're getting stronger week by week. Next target at 350k satoshi will be reached soon.

The team and devs are very active online, I think Bitcore is going to become huge in 2018 after the airdrops are done.

There are indeed many weaklings and headless chickens active in the crypto coin space.
An I agree that many must have an IQ near room temperature because they don't understand the concept of compounded interest. Maybe 3rd grade elementary school kids  Cheesy

29  Economy / Economics / Re: Obligatory: Is Bitcoin Cash A Bubble? on: November 25, 2017, 09:05:09 AM
On an economical point of view Bitcoin Cash is a bubble and so as Bitcoin, a bubble is defined to being an overpriced asset in which it is far away from its real value. The problem with Bitcoin or BCH in this matter is that we don't really know what is the real fair market value for it as we are the only once who are determining the price of Bitcoin. The price of them is so played out that their is no stable price for them. That is why not all people are buying Bitcoin because it is hard to set a foot on.

I agree. It is hard to determine a fair market value. At this point with rather limited use of crypto, one can only estimate the fair value of banks and other financial institutions that crypto can destroy. Think about the market cap of banks today and the future marketcap of the same banks if bitcoin or any other group of cryptos take over 10% of the global financial transactions and store of wealth.

This to be destroyed financial services market cap might be the base for the valuation of crypto.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin explained by economic theory on: November 25, 2017, 08:46:06 AM
I think that one of the reasons is that a lot of lesser financially educated people are demanding bitcoin. We are at the point that millions of people try to grab fractions of bitcoin or any other crypto asset they can buy. As long as it has to do something with crypto or blockchain it is bought.

I bought most of my cryptos more that one year ago, some 2 years ago. I withstand the temptation to buy more at these prices and ride it out, hodling.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin explained by economic theory on: November 25, 2017, 08:28:46 AM
Looks like there are a lot of fools out there.  Just checked on coinmarketcap.com and it seems that 92 out of the top 100 crypto coins and tokens are raising in price. It looks like a mass phenomenon.

This is scary because there is no differentiation made between coins. This bubbling of the whole market is bad for bitcoin and will lead to a massive profit taking sell-off.

These fuckers stole your ticker! They forked BTG HAHA!

I recognized that those bastards stole the design of their webpage from UBS Swiss Bank. They use same font, pictures, and layout as UBS.

Hello Community Of BTX!

Whoever agree's with me please comment on my post!

NO, I DO NOT AGREE.
It is better to let people, who want more BTX through the weekly airdrops, buy the coins in the exchanges. That way the price upward pressure is there, which ensures a growing market capitalization. It appears to work well so far.

The QT wallet doesn't sync.. 0 Active connections. Can anyone help?

Have you configured on your router the forwarding of the correct port?
If not, have you UPnP enabled on your router?
Check for port 8555 (TCP)
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 15, 2017, 11:51:16 PM
I don't understand what new value proposition Bitcoin Gold (BTG) brings to the table that Bitcore (BTX) doesn't have.
BTX is already built for GPU mining and is ASIC mining resistant and it offers placing fast transactions and very very low fees.

How do you guys see the difference between BTG and BTX, does it really 'require' BTG?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCC/BCH on: November 12, 2017, 11:20:32 AM
I also dumped my BCH straight off I believe in the Bitcoin and not in Bitcoin cash. If they can't pick a side do it simply don't join either side and just join side stocks. Smiley

These days the holdings of BCH are a good hedge against the correction in BCT. I am glad that I never sold my BCH.

Got this week's airdrop yesterday. The stress-test was a very impressive feat, congratulations! However, I think a lot of people (including me) will not claim the distributed BTX in the near future. I was waiting for Segwit2x and planned to combine splitting of BTC (if necessary), and claiming Bitcoin Gold and BTX. Now with Segwit2x cancelled and the future of Bitcoin Gold uncertain I am reluctant to move all my BTC to a new wallet, and I do not want to expose my private keys without doing it. Anyway, the amount of BTC I hold and the corresponding amount of BTX is small. I suspect a lot of people have similar thoughts.

Why can't this claiming round be not done like the last round with signing a message?

I find it highly unpractical to move all my coins from one TREZOR to another HW wallet so that I can impirt my private key into the BTX wallet. As I have different Cryptos on my Trezor, I would incurr quite some TX fees. In addition I need to reshuffle my recovery seed backup and create a new seed. I find that too much of a hassle.

I will rather buy an additional few dozen BTX on an exchange to benefit more from the weekly 3% airdrops.

The difference between Bitcore and Bitcoin is only the block size?
larger blocks means less security, that's why bitcoin keep the block size low.. am i wrong in something?
Wrong about everything actually. Plenty of differences between BTX and BTC, larger blocks means more disk usage for full node operators in exchange for more transactions per block meaning lower fees. Has nothing to do with security.

but larger blocks means bigger blockchain, that means less nodes, that means less security..
There is a reson why bitcoin does not enlarge the block size, no?
Yes because it's a stupid trade off, does not scale well at all.

The 10+10=20MB block size is only theory to make it future proof.
Have a look at the Bitcore Block Explorer and you will recognize that currently the blocksize is only a few kB.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx
As long as the transaction volume does not exponentially increase, there is no increase in blocksize and the whole blockchain does not require mich storage space.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lost my Bitcoin Cash on: September 01, 2017, 09:36:49 PM
Doesn't matter the moves after August, the snapshot has been made on 1 of August, future moves won't affect the BCC balance associated with the private keys

What if one had coins in a wallet at an exchange (i.e. Coinbase) before August 1 and has not touched the BTC coins yet. Coinbase reversed their original decision and announced that they would credit the Bitcoin Cash tokens somewhen early 2018. Does that mean that one could transfer the BTC to a hardware wallet and Coinbase would then still be able to allocate the corresponding (before Aug 1) BCH?

Or is it safer not to touch the BTC before the corresponding BCH are available in the Coinbase account?
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 25, 2017, 10:56:04 AM
My dream would be that Bitcoin would have a lower volatility the value growth predictability similar toe Berkshire Hathaway stock. But I wouldn't mind if that value growth would be 25% per year instead of 10%.
