21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - BLOOM - ONLINE - new virtual fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin on: November 17, 2017, 05:43:16 PM
What do you think the future will hold for this coin?

bitcore? dunno.

you could argue because it doesn't have that power behind it it's not gonna go far, but in the long run that's all bcash has and i really can't see how much further it can grow unless it starts coming up with some actual cool stuff.

bitcore looks like they're gonna be the more nimble bitcoin that's the first to run new technologies. when you include gpu mining that's gonna make it attractive to many more people than are involved now.

no one can answer your question though. that's my guess is all.

I have a feeling that this coin can be big. This dev team is probably one of the most talented. This massive price jump I think will attract alot more attention and can maybe pull old ETH miners and other miners to it as it well.

For the guys that have been around for a while, Why is this coin so underrated compared to BCH, BTG? For what I can tell the devs have done fantastic work at reducing the size of the chain, ensuring stability, scaling transaction volumes, and speeding up transaction speeds. Everything segwit2x failed to due atm. The coin just seemed to be completely ignored for a better part of the year.

there's no agenda. the only reason bcash exists is because of that agenda.

also it's a different type of mining in a much more competitive area.

bcash came into existence when everyone was already fully aware of forks so it got max exposure.

it also doesn't have the personalities and companies that bcash has behind it mainly because bcash is the main vehicle to express their beliefs.

It doesn't have nearly the number of shills BCH has.
Do you think that is changing and do you think it can overtake BCH or be an equal. Honestly BTG seems like its going to be overtaken by this coin and its only on a couple markets.

So what are the expectations? Will BSD go up in value?

Well, what do you expect?

Well I'm pretty new.. I've been mining since june and had all my earnings converted to BTC. Now I'm exploring other coins to HODL.

It was a genuine question...... Will BSD go up in value?

Im betting yes, BSD will increase in value. Not sure how it could go down in value. Buy a couple MN's worth and get busy.

I did an analsis of total supply vs DASH and its price. The current supply ratio is about 2.23 BSD to DASH. The time I did analysis DASH was $432. Considering BSD can be said to have better tech than DASH, the theoretical cap on this coin is $187.5.

No it doesn't match emission rates even with the 25% drop. The original amount was 1,195,602.

so
1,195,602 x 1.03 = 1,231,470.06
1,231,470.06 x 1.03 = 1,268414.1618
1,268,414.1618 x 1.25 = 1,585,517.70225
1,585,517.70225 1.03 = 1,633,083.2333175
1,633,083.2333175 x 1.03 = 1,682,075.73031703

So only 1,682,075.73031703 should be in circulation. Unless the devs broke it in to many smaller wallets for exchange purposes?
Yes, you are completely right. We put the missing coins in some special addresses just for you. We want to sponsor you a reading class so you perhaps are going to be able to read and understand the content of the first post of this thread, especially the part about the new snapshot that was made on 2nd of November.

You don't have to be a dick, I highly doubt every single BTC holder claimed the coin in the span of 14 days at a rate of 1-0.5 btc. I am just noticing the massive shift of coins and I was curious. also https://bitcore.cc/pay.php

Payout = 589548.39443733 BTX for the April snapshot
There's no need to claim the coins. They were directly written to the blockchain to the corresponding addresses, as you could have known if you would have given it just a little effort read the first post of this thread. I'm just getting annoyed, as allegations, like the ones you made implicitly, are a very serious thing.
You can call it whatever you like. But anyway BTC holder need to take some steps to get coins.  Your opponent is trying to say that 70-80% of coins will be lost - (unless BTX will cost XXXX$). Even with todays price minority of btc holders know about BTX.

Well worst case its 50% of all Btx is never claimed from BTC snapshot. In reality we lost 50% of the already lost bitcoins, which is estimated 25% of all BTC. So effectively we have lost 12.5% of BTX with the snapshot. So best case there is a 12.5% loss of BTX. So 2080649.5 BTX can effectively be considered "lost"

Sorry I missed a paragraph on the first post I haven't read in a while, I wasn't making any allegations, I was just curious about how the distribution happened that's all.

So after exploring the BTX chain. There seems to be only 5.4 mil coins left for distribution, when a month ago it was 15 million coins. What happened?
31  Economy / Economics / Possibility of Nation States influencing BTC or other Cryptocurrency markets? on: July 30, 2017, 09:41:06 PM
My question is could an large nation state with significant economic power crash or boom the price of a cryptocurrency?

There have been many examples of traders like Soros crashing currency by publicizing large bets against the currency and pushing concerns about a countries' economy. If one were to publicize a large short on Bitcoin and attempted to cause a crash how would one succeed as this currency is not tied to single nation or economy and thus seems resistant to economic scares?

There are also nation states like North Korea recently releasing malware mining monero with cryptonight making millions. Proving a nation state can use cryptocurrencies to circumvent sanctions on their country. Could those actions inadvertently cause a crash in a crypto market due to large flood of miners and a dramatic increase of coin supply? Or can these nation states cause a boom by buying large amounts of coin due to increased demand?

If a nation state happens to buy a large reserve of a crypto currency could they drive the price down to zero by flooding the market with such reserve and in turn buy the worthless coin back effectively controlling the existing traded supply causing a large boom do to low supply of coin and seemingly higher demand?

These are a couple questions I am curious about and I'm interested what you all think about them?
