If you say so,it's not profitable to mine with 280x packed with elpida memory.
Why is that significantly important of memory type for cryptonight?

Elpida memory in general sucks ass for mining.

You would need a stilt bios flash to fix it.

Elpida has shitty timings, that's all.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.0 on: July 02, 2014, 11:00:16 AM
CN PoW requires a lot of memory access, memory latency is very important in this algorithm. Memory size is important too.
290x hynix has 44 compute units, 4GB memory and gets about 740 h/s.
280x hynix has 32 compute units, 3GB memory and gets about 460 h/s.
Miner optimized for both these cards.

Doesn't seem quite right when I can get my 7870 cards (hynix AND elipida) to mine at 350 h/s each.

Something doesn't make sense here.

Hey guys!

Welcome to our pool Minergate.com. We support mining of MonetaVerde and offer two reward models - PPS and PPLNS (you can choose suitable method for each currency individually).
Moreover, we have the lowest fees on the market (2% PPS, 1.5% PPLNS).
Enjoy the most profitable on our pool!

Regards,
Minergate.com
Enjoy the most profitable mining on our pool

Do you guys even have an IRC?

Your site is entirely fucked.

Your stats are wrong, your connections are buggy at best, your payout system sucks (mostly because your system doesn't report 1/2 the shares submitted), and to top it all off, your support system takes DAYS to respond to anyone.

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MCN] Moneta Verde - CryptoNote coin with difficulty-BR (lnch at 15:00 GMT) on: July 02, 2014, 08:03:33 AM
Merged mining (Quazar + MonetaVerde) *2 most profitable in my opinion, difficulty too high for XMR.
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o mcn-qcn.pool.minergate.com:5567 -u (your email login) -p x

I've tried that merged mining bat file but I get a lot of "Outdated share found - skip" messages and the hashrate reported at the pool is almost half. Is that normal?

It's normal. It's the pool owner's fault, not Claymore's, not yours.

Everyone should start throwing a fit at minergate, maybe they will un-fuck their mess.

It's time to create a fund for MonetaVerde for marketing and development!
No... it's time to create more pools for MCN.

We have 1 pool for MCN... that's going to destroy this coin, because they can't keep their servers straight 99% of the time.

They're over-crowded, and can't seem to wrap their heads around applying a stratum server... let alone pulling their heads out of their asses.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Unfinished CryptoNight OpenCL (AMD) miner on: July 02, 2014, 04:04:22 AM
This topic has appeared on the following day after vehre refused to quit. This is also a chance?
anyhow, I fail to see the interest claymore algo is way much faster... (if it is just to get the bounty.... at 50USD/hour, it would cost you more)

How do you know Claymore's is faster? This doesn't even work yet - it uses ONE GPU work-item and ONE thread.

Speaking of open-source gpu-miners... Wolf0, you might want to take a look at tsiv's latest release for cuda-miner... made a binary to mine on compute 2.1 and compute 2.0 (fermi) cards.

Maybe that can help?

My 1GB 560ti's get 200h/s each. Just saying.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.0 on: June 30, 2014, 09:40:46 AM
You guys bitch too much about dev fees, but cry like hell when nobody donates because you worked so hard.

1. Wolf0, you used an open-source program to make your miner. Claymore wrote his own. When you can write your own, and see how long it takes for it to be written, and maintain/update it as often as he has, and do all this in good faith that the community will donate to you... then you would have a leg to stand on in this argument.

The only reason I am defending claymore at the moment, is because 1.. he was the first to write it... 2.. his time is valuable... and 3.. 5%, after doing all the math, is NOT that much.

All you pool devs take 0.5-3% in mining fees... now take into account how many miners you have on  your pool... and how often you find blocks... you can't say shit about how much he makes off his dev fees.

If I mined at one of your pools for 20 hours... he gets 1 hour, split into small sessions over that period of time... mined for himself... and it BARELY affects my hashrate to the pool... and YOU are still getting paid.

All you open-source devs... you want to bitch about it so much? Make something better, and stop complaining. The man said he would reduce or remove the dev fees completely if someone can make a faster miner.

He wrote his own code, so guess what you're stuck doing.

Port that shit over from the cpu-miner like tsiv did for ccminer. Shouldn't be too hard, cgminer was all originally based off a cpu-miner.

And my programm will be updated  Grin

5% fee - mining, 2% fee - pool, 5% - of exchange

Total:12%
It is a lot of fees.

Still, It fees dumping cost of crypto because them at once sell.

I against such situations.

I'm against someone who can't even type a fucking sentence without sounding like a moron... let alone try to jip someone on their hard work... or try to steal everyone else's hash-rate or mining earnings... or whatever.

I'm not even going to dignify this little shit's software with a download and analysis. Run it through virus-total all you want. I can tell just from the looks of it, it's a cheap visual-basic program with a keylogger, and port-forwarding.

I could have written this program in my sleep when I was 15yrs old.

Your computer skills are shit, your English is shit, and your ETHICS are SHIT.

Go fuck yourself with a cactus.

I vote he gets the ban-hammer.

Not supporting him, as he probably can't code for shit - but don't bash people for probably not speaking English natively.

And let's be fair - anyone bypassing Claymore's fee now isn't being unfair in the slightest. What he's getting paid is STUPID disproportionate to the amount of work. $10k or $20k would be plenty. He's no doubt made more than $100k at peak XMR prices and is showing no signs of stopping. Maybe he's dumping, maybe he's not, but he IS hurting Monero.

I'm sorry, but I used to think that way, until I've seen Claymore pump out more than 5 updates in the past week alone. Which is more than I can say for any other miner dev out there... unless they edited their git files late at night drunk and screwed it to hell.

What you're failing to see here Wolf0, is that he's not using open-source software, and he's definitely not using a branch of someone else's software. (If he is, that's his problem.)

The fact of the matter is, he's the first and ONLY AMD GPU MINER RELEASE that has come out for Cryptonight algo.

What you want, is a cookie. What I want, is to mine, and keep the dev happy, and have him keep improving the program.

He has good reason to. The faster he can get his miner to mine, the faster all the users can mine, the more money he makes. Makes perfect sense to be in his shoes.

Do I TOTALLY agree with how he does it? No. Do I think he made a very smart financial move? Hell yes. Did he hide it? Did he steal it? No.

As far as bashing someone who can't speak English natively... speaking is entirely different from writing my friend.
I've seen someone who couldn't speak a proper sentence in English (foreign student) to save their life write a 600 page term paper without a single error... and even beat me.

I'm not bashing him for not being able to speak it... but I am bashing him for coming into a thread for English language, trying to give people a virus, potentially harm computers, steal coins, or who know's what.

Claymore - I love fairy tales and do not like evasive answers. Test have 10 minutes - total hashes 206k - target 142k, devhashes 10k - target 18k. On hash - 5%, оn target - more then 10%. Draw conclusions.

Hmm... would like to see an actual screenshot of this... because I've ran his miner for days on end, and even did the math, and it still came less than 5%.

Sounds like you're just not happy with a working miner.

In that case, go play around with your pet rock.

I guess site dev/admin is a no-show for a while now.

All he comes on here to do is brag about "new additions" to his site, and ignores the pleas for help.

Not to mention he's losing mass amounts of miners due to the fact that it takes FOREVER for minergate to PAY, let alone CONFIRM your earnings *cough MCN cough*

Dev... seriously... I mean this in the nicest possible way.

Get off your ass... and answer the questions you are being asked, and stop ignoring people. That is a very QUICK way to lose business. No miners = no income 4 u.

Add stratum to your site... I have errors out the ass trying to mine cryptonote coins on your site...

And for fuck's sake add AEON coin... but only AFTER you add the stratum ports.

https://github.com/tsiv/ccminer-cryptonight/commit/72f35da0e3c86ff6564686502b0607c9df9211ca

Took the easy gains first, around 18% boost on 750 Ti. Still trying to wrap my head around the hard part.

Will upload a win32 binary later, got something to do right now.

Any luck on compute 2.1 binaries? Just wondering, remembered you saying something about that in the past.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: June 29, 2014, 06:04:02 PM
I need a working C/C++ CPU miner to plug my code in, ideally a fork of cpuminer (because that is also what cudaminer/ccminer are based on).

simpleminer does not talk stratum as far as I know.

cryptonote-easy-miner is a C# app for windows (WTF?), and all it does is launch simpleminer and manage a wallet for you.

Christian

may have jumped the gun on this one, thought zone117x finished the bbr port to cpu-miner... let me see.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: June 29, 2014, 05:55:35 PM
Christian,

Any chance now that the CryptoNight coins are only the 4th most profitable algo to mine on 750tis you'd NOW consider doing an official CN release?
Carlo

we're also having trouble with XMR profitability at the moment, but BBR is still OK...

BBR GPU mining code will be made public if there is a solid stratum layer available to work with.
also I heard dga is working on some BBR GPU miner as well (he announced it in the BBR thread)

Christian

Stratum already implemented on a few pools.

http://bbr.farm/#getting_started

http://bbr.extremepool.org/#getting_started

Probably too much to ask... but please include 2.1 binary so some of us who haven't jumped aboard the kepler/maxwell train can still mine?

quick... while I'm ahead, please tell me how to get ccminer (tsiv cn edition) to work on Amazon EC2 g2.2xlarge! LOL

I've installed all the pre-reqs... but even though I installed Visual C++ 2010, it still gives me missing msvcp100.dll... dafuq?
how much does it cost to watch his program crashing ?
(I think it would be a lot easier, if ccminer was built with static library for that purpose)

Not too much. like... 10-15 cents per hour. Canceled it though... can't get ccminer to read the cuda driver... at all.

Well... fixed the crash... if it's not one thing... it's another...

Code:

Already installed the damn driver... wtf over?

How fast does it work compared to CPU mining? cost efficiency wise?

If you take into account the actual power draw of a 750ti that doesn't require a PCIe connector from the PSU, then it draws ~70W @ full load.

The average power draw of a CPU @ 4.0GHz (suitable for cryptonight mining) is around 150+W.

Now... cost-wise... upgrade CPU/MB... ~$400+. ~200 H/s... total.
Power Consumption: 100+W

Buy 2 750ti cards... ~$300   ~205-210 H/s EACH
Power Consumption: ~140W

My Xeon X3460 @ 4.0GHz is drawing around 140W at full load right now, and I'm only getting ~180 H/s out of it.

I'm going to get a couple of 750ti cards, and then I'm going to say deuces to the 7870 cards (and toss them into my gaming rig, with twin Kraken G10 setups. Tongue)

Performance per watt for a 750ti - 3 H/s per Watt
Performance per watt for my Xeon - 1.29 H/s per Watt
Performance per watt for a 290X - 1.97 H/s per Watt

So... all in all... I'd rather have 3 H81 Pro BTC rigs running low watt CPU's and 6 750ti cards each.

I might mine a little slower than most... but I'd still be raking it in compared to my power consumption.

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.0 on: June 28, 2014, 07:00:40 AM
v3.4, 13.12 drivers, Asus R9280x @ 1190/1800 yields 545 H/s

You should make this available on Linux and offer it within PiMP (www.getpimp.org).

yeah i agree talk to the guys in #pimp on freenode

just make a working linux executeble ad ask them to include it....

I'd rock it. I love PiMP.

The only reason I switched this rig over to Windows is so I could use this miner.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.0 on: June 28, 2014, 06:51:52 AM
About 740 h/s on stock 290X (Hynix memory).
About 650 h/s on stock 290X (Elpida memory).
About 450 h/s on stock 280X (Hynix memory).
About 300 h/s on stock 270X.

Getting ~360 h/s on a 7870 GHz OC (Sapphire Dual-X v1) 1250 gpu / 1350 mem / 1.218 vddc / powertune 20 / 100% fan speed ~50°C (Ambient temp is 75°F) (Hynix Memory)
-a 1

Fan died on my other card, same card, only Elpida Memory. Going to go to microcenter tomorrow to be an ass and buy a NZXT Kraken G10 and toss my Corsair H70 on it with some vrm heatsinks and make this bitch hit 400h/s. Tongue

Question... I'm used to the old POWER HUNGRY GeForce cards...

How big of a PSU is needed to run 6 750ti cards (w/o 6-pin PCIe connectors)?
