21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARK: next top 10 or 20 coin? on: September 26, 2017, 03:14:09 AM
Zakhal makes a good point - It some how doesn't feel the same to put up $5,000 for dPoS coins as putting up $5000 worth of mining hardware.

Logically $5k out of your pocket is $5k out of your pocket, but somehow it seems PoW miners have "done more".

Honestly, I think this is just a new paradigm and if/when PoS is as robust as PoW, we'll look at PoW as wasted computing resources.

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kin token 4x price on etherdelta, ICO still live on: September 26, 2017, 02:30:06 AM
If you follow OMG, they just posted news that their parent company and credit card processor Omise, is going to accept credit cards for McDonalds in Thailand.  The mostly unrelated OMG community felt this was good news.

If news of what the larger, parent company is doing is good for the price of the token, than we can expect KIN to have plenty of help from KIN news.

Yes, the project is great. But why they hadn't sold all tokens during ICO?

Good question.  Maybe the project is too real, the pump and dump crowd is not interested.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin for 2018 that is very cheap now? on: September 25, 2017, 11:02:01 AM
KIN is going to be a big force as they will get a lot of press for being and Token wielding unicorn.  Any major tech press will cite KIN and KIK as being the largest company to date to do an ICO - so lots of mainstream eyeballs will be on them.

Might not be 10x returns, but will be a major token economy.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kin token 4x price on etherdelta, ICO still live on: September 25, 2017, 10:52:01 AM
Not much talk of KIN here, but this is a huge project from a now billion dollar company.  When they make announcements, they are going to move the needle.

Just did a bit of research and I like their Proof of Development model they call Rewards Engine.  It's like an inverse app store model.  Rather than pay Apple / Google 30%, Kin will pay developers who make apps that expand the ecosystem.

I like their focus on rewarding developers - 20% of their tokens will go to devs each year.

Not sure sure about their product - KIK, but really how is that different from any other of these speculative ICOs with little to no product?  Grin
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kyber Network on: September 25, 2017, 10:44:32 AM
Does anyone know the ICO price? Not finding it anywhere...

ICO price:
1 KNC = .00166 ETH

1 ETH = 602 KNC

As of this writing:
1 KNC =  0.0079 ETH

1 ETH = 126 KNC

Well you top 20 predictors are quite correct.  I got into ARK just after their ICO and have been rewarded ever since.   I do notice a funny trend with this dPOS coin - the staking percentage.

When I started, it was around 40% of coins were being held and staked.  Now over 53% of ARK tokens are being held, and voting for the top 51 ( or so).  Curious if this trend continues and people get value from buying an holding - it takes liquidity from the market, makes for more holders and so price goes up.   Even when the market has swung low on China news, the 50%+ staking has not budged.  Stake holders don't want to lose their spot.

Not sure where this percentage ends up however - if you imagined 99% of coins staking - does not seem that would be so useful.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: September 21, 2017, 07:22:48 AM
ARK for sure.  They already moved past PIVX and now the #20 coin.

Just buy some Ark, put in your desktop wallet, then vote for someone paying out in the top 51.  Easy.

Tried NEM, but rather confusing to set up.
LISK tried buy also doesn't make much sense to vote for everyone.

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Beware of using Slack in ICO campaigns! on: September 20, 2017, 04:17:51 AM
Slack is clearly not the right tool, and Telegram is not the right replacement to Slack - it's more of a stream of conciseness.  No way to participate in groups.

I've seen Rocket Chat used by one group and Discord was just mentioned.  Others in the space seem to be Ryver and Mattermost.

I wonder if Kik would be able to be good for this?

[Suspicious link removed]  test
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Share where you invest on: September 20, 2017, 02:41:28 AM
My best investment is when I got back into crypto in March and just bought in a brand new token.   I looked at the newly listed section of Coinmarket cap and put money into the one I thought was the best potential on that list. Now 7 months later I'm up 4000%.   This makes other decisions much easier.

Now I'm only interested in the top new tokens, that are really able to move the needle.

Of all the things you can do - mining, staking, bounties, earning, or ico investing - ICO investing is likely your best chance to see a big jump.  Just hope you're lucky enough buy and sell at the right time.

32  Other / Meta / Bitcoin Talk Suspicious links mistake on: September 20, 2017, 02:29:48 AM
For board admins:

Just noticed Bitcoin talk will remove "suspicious links".  I just made a note that Blockchain.info owns both the .info and the .com, but if you use the .com link it labels it as a "suspicious link".

BLOCKCHAIN LUXEMBOURG S.A. in fact owns both domains - registered at the same time,  and the CEO mentioned as much in his interview on This Week In Start Ups.

33  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Was Blockchain.org hacked or what happend to my funds? Go easy- newbie here on: September 20, 2017, 02:21:11 AM
[Suspicious link removed] and Blockchain.info are same company and are the largest provider of Bitcoin wallets.  A very good choice to start with Bitcoin.  As a beginner, no need for downloading wallet software - just not necessary.

As the other poster said - post your BTC address and someone can look into where your funds are.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any coin I can mine with smartphone? on: September 19, 2017, 08:52:12 AM
Try doing it with a smart phone with https://coin-hive.com/.   Not going to earn alot, but it's easy, in browser Monero mining.
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help please on: September 19, 2017, 08:45:38 AM
seems clear that 0.07442297 BTC was sent, but you'd have to verify the address you sent to.  Make sure the vendor owns the address you sent to.

I have 1.5 CTR Centra and 1,000 CNX Cryptonex that seemed to have been air dropped into my accounts, FYI.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MyEtherWallet on: September 13, 2017, 07:13:57 AM
"Cash out" usually means convert to Fiat.  If that's what you mean, then no MEW can't help you.  You'll take your ETH and transfer to the exchange in your country. Then sell the ETH for your Fiat.

Another way would be do convert ETH to BTC via Changelly or Shapeshift - Then send BTC to Localbitcoins and they someone will send you cash when u sell.
