Unfortunately Bitmain would just make new miners to match the new algo and we the people would be lining up to by them. The key to bitmain's success is their pool people must not mine there as this gives them control of the block chain. Then they can do some really nasty thing.

Thanks for the reply. All I am looking for is the normal cgminer screen that shows the shares being accepted and error messages that maybe displayed. Sorry I posted in the wrong area. I started a new topic for this question.

Does anyone know how to get cgminer to properly display when connecting to an Antminer L3+ and viewing it using SSH? I use putty to connect into the L3+ and then I use the Screen command. Unfortunately all I see displayed is one line of information at the top of the screen that over-writes itself. I have tried many things to get it to display properly but no luck so far.

Descortez is right. I just checked this pool for 2 different coins. The expected earnings computed by the profits calculator versus the coins you actually earn are very different. The earnings you get is much lower than it should be. The two coins I tried earnings were off by a negative 30 percent and the other coin a negative 70 percent. Something is seriously wrong with this pool. I have checked over several days now.

Does anyone know how to fix CRC5 errors on antminer L3+ The miner runs for a few miniutes normally after a reboot then it starts having CRC5 errors and 3 out of 4 cards stop hashing. Eventually they go XXXXX on the status screen update. I can reboot then they run for awhile and stop again.
Jun 7 12:27:37 (none) local0.err cgminer[25758]: bitmain_scanreg,crc5 error,should be 04,but check as 03 166 288 Jun 7 12:27:37 (none) local0.err cgminer[25758]: bitmain_scanreg: reg_value = 0x01000000
It seems to me the main controller board may be having a problem.

I still have one of their miners. I think it will be worth something someday as a collectible. A nostalgic reminder albeit an unpleasant one for most people of the golden age of bitcoin mining.

@ RochaMckay
Its too late to do that now. If you change the mining algorithm now everyone gets screwed. The time to have done it should have been just when they started selling the L3 antminers. Now millions of dollars have been spent by miners and changing it now would be like chopping off your nose to spite your face.

I have just today invested in Pundi. It appears as if they have a very, very good business model. It benefits all altcoins in general. So I would say Pundi X is a good investment.

The evil plan seems to be thwarted for now as the website that the miners are supposed to connect to seems to be offline.

@madmartyk
Good to hear. I have gotten fed up with some of the various pools and I am working with some professional programmers to create my own pool. It will be a pool for miners like myself that want an honest good, reliable service with pool mining and exchange service. We need a reliable mining system that is easy and fun to use.

Some people will stop and eventually all people will stop if the miners become unprofitable. The problem is will they stop in time. The other point is the one that really matters the most. We must mine some where other than the antpool. If we don't all is lost.

@searing
The real key to stopping the Bitmain and this greedy policy is two fold.
1. We need to simply stop buying the miners. We as miners should buy only a few batches and then stop. If we don't do this the difficulty will become so high only people with huge mining operations will be able to show a profit. 2. Absolutely do not under any circumstance mine using their Ant pool server as this allows them to keep profiting from the sale of the miners and it forms a monopoly of profit for them. We must mine some where else. Anywhere else otherwise Bitmain will completely monopolize and control all the coin markets. Part two is the most important.

Anybody know how much longer Bitmain will be selling the L3+. It seems at some point these miners will be worthless if they coninue to sell them for too long. There needs to be a limit.

Does anyone know what the typical orphan rate for EMC2 is?

Just another note for the miners out there. What ever you do, do not mine on the Bitmain pool. This just encourages them to keep selling miners with no end in site. They can make money off of you when you mine there. Mine for litecoin any where but antminer Bitmain pool. They will make money selling you the miners and force you to keep buying more and more mining power to be profitable. The best thing to do is to stop ordering miners and force them to manufacture only a set amount. Then do not mine in the AntPool.

Does anybody know how long Bitmain is going to manufacture L3s? Are they going to stop at some point? If they don't stop there is no sense in buying them as eventually they will be worthless.

The wallet is taking over a week to Synchronize. Can coins be sent and received while the wallet is synchronizing. Why is syncing on this wallet so slow?
