21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX580 GPU mining but not all Cards are running? on: March 27, 2018, 05:23:29 PM
Oh man, Linux - That's fun. All your settings look ok to me. I wish I could tell you that there would be a simple way to check each GPU but I'm not sure how it would be done on linux. First thing, Make sure all your GPu's are being recognized by your OS, I think you can use Open Hardware Monitor for linux (instead of GPU-Z). Resetting your drivers might seem like a tedious task but I would recommend that as well.

Also, I'm not sure if there is a pixel clock patcher for Linux but if you can find one I would recommend using it.

I'm sorry if I don't have the best of advice, but please keep us updated if you do find a fix - it will end up helping others.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Competitor of Ethereum on: March 27, 2018, 05:09:35 PM
The SEC may start cracking down on ERC20 tokens really soon, we've seen how bittrex delisted over 80 ERC 20 tokens because of this. ETH being a protocol predominantly for ICO's, this is bad news.. Not to mention the amount of stagnant ETH waiting to be dumped by these massive ICOs like Omisego and EOS, etc.

This is why I see KMD as an ETH killer. dICOs (decentralized ICO's, there is no way to stop this). On top of that KMD is the king of atomic swap, having performed close to 100k. Imagine investing in an ICO and being able to instantly atomic swap any of your coins for the ICO tokens. Not to mention Baterdex, a decentralized exchange built strictly implementing KMD. The potential is massive and they aren't just giving promises. KMD makes moves.

Only shame is that many project are all talk and no action. KMD is all action and no talk, they seem to be content being super under the radar.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 27, 2018, 05:00:04 PM
I'm impressed by the amount of progress the team has made in the past few months, KMD is definitely a pioneer of its own kind. The only issue I have are the notary nodes - I always have an issue whenever voting is involved in any platform. You are signifying trust at that point (which is the completely opposite of what the basis of bitcoin was meant to serve, a trust-less service), and if there were to be a group large enough it would essentially become somewhat centralized. We can see a clear example of this by looking at Lisk.

Lisk has let this issue run rampant and now they have to deal with hiring a full "science" team to amend the issue, this seems like a greater feat in itself (rather than the javascript protocol).

None the less it's not like centralization really matters in the cryptocurrency market. Even BTC has ended up being severely centralized and people still use it. It seems in the end people tend to care more of the application or use. If that ends up being the case KMD is in my opinion a sleeper.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much could I get sell a 4-GPU (RX 580) rig, right now? on: March 27, 2018, 04:38:00 PM
Ebay is a really good resource.  Just search for RX 580 and then select the option to show sold listings.  from there, you can get an idea for how much they are selling for.  Exception to that: you may see some ridiculous low prices that are scam attempts and invalid.  Judgement call on your part to determine what's a valid price but it's usually not too hard to figure out.

Personally, I just did Craigslist and sold locally and I'm in a weird/limited market place... sort of geographically isolated comparatively but it all worked out fine.  Good thing about CL compared to Ebay is you don't have to worry as much about fees, packaging, and returns.  Just don't be a jerk and sell crappy gear or else I can imagine other bad things happening.  I've heard stories.

But yeah, I really like CL lately.  It just depends on the margin between sales and hassle between various resale options.  I was really pleased to use some used GPU's I picked up off ebay and then sold them for a little bit more after mining with them for several months.  What could be better than that?  lol

I agree, Ebay is a great resource to compare prices. Only issue I have with actually using Ebay to sell with, is that I just can't trust shipping carriers with a mining rig. I used to work for a shipping carrier and i know that there are a LOT of workers who don't care for a fragile sticker. I might just take your route and take the CL approach.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth Algo Switching with a Single Rig? on: March 26, 2018, 07:19:04 AM
Yes, yes, yes. If you are looking at daily profits and need to cash out to pay your electric bills, then by all means use a algo profit switcher. Nicehash is the simplest to use. However, if you are fine paying bills with fiat and holding coins, thats a different story. Some people mine coins they believe will experience increases in value in the future.

Another good algo switching protocol is miningpoolhub, which I actually prefer over Nicehash. A lot of people switched to that after the massive Nicehash hack - can't trust middle men anymore.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nanopool and monero7... on: March 26, 2018, 07:14:57 AM
Nanopool is one of the biggest pools out there. They have been mining monero for a long time now and they EARN a lot from all the pool fees they collect. They will surely update and support the monero7 fork because it means money for them. I believe its only a matter of WHEN, not IF.

I'm very excited to see this fork coming, it's about time a good project stood up against Asics. My only question is when is this supposed to happen? First I heard early March now I'm hearing April 6?  Huh
27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Searching for best ways to choose campaigns on: March 26, 2018, 07:09:01 AM
If we are talking specifically about bounties (aka altcoins) I would only participate in the coins that I would invest otherwise. I usually always read ICO's and altcoin announcements, I check the team, the coin, the product, the whitepaper, if it looks good I decide whether to invest or not. Sometimes I check if they have a bounty/signature campaign and I do that instead of investing my money into it. I believe that's the best way to do it and avoid hundreds of shitty bounties from shitty coins.

This. One thing to keep in mind as well is that when you are scanning through the bounty section, be sure to check for newly created bounties. The last thing you want to do is join a bounty that is just finishing up to get a mediocre pay out. So always pay attention to their spread sheet and see how far along they have been so far. The newer the better.
28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you ready for a crypto-based social media 2.0? on: March 26, 2018, 06:38:52 AM
Check out steemit. It's a social media and it runs on the Ethereum network using steem tokens.
I agree that a decentralized social network would be beneficial.

Steemit is a great social media platform, It's more of a blogging platform. There's also a project called Akasha, also powered by Ethereum and Vitalik as actually an advisor for it, the beta is currently running (and it is a bit slow). I really like the idea of it - you should check it out.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending out airdrops? on: March 26, 2018, 06:31:41 AM
Is there a guide to this kind of magic?

A bit of programming knowledge might help but this article I found goes into some decent detail on how to do it. If you like you can also pay spmeone in the service section to do it for you.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]CREDITS - New Blockchain for financial industry [15 Feb-28 Feb] on: March 23, 2018, 11:44:04 AM
Sebastian, my old friend. First you mistake me for somebody else (well, assuming it was me) and now i’m all of the sudden friends with somebody.

After calling my name two times I want to make something clear. The reason for not reacting on your posts is because you’re part of it all (i’m not high yet, forgive me). There’s a relation between you being Russian, your daily posts on this thread and the fact that Credits hasn’t switched to a moderated thread to filter your daily messages.  Wink

So people, I hope this will answer all your questions why Sebastian is putting so much effort into this. Nobody would do this without any interest. Although Sebastian looks like he's bashing Credits, the main goal for this is the opposite.

Keep up to good work buddy, cheers!

Yeah, its weird count-intuitive reason, but I wondered this too.  So much time and effort spamming one thread, has to be significant agenda or simply being paid to do so. Its certainly odd behaviour otherwise.

Although Sebastian is mentioning some points which really do need to be cleared out (by a dev answering the questions or time that will tell), the amount of posting and the time/effort he takes to do this is really outrageous. It keeps surprising me that somebody will only do this just to ‘warn us’.

There are many scams were you won’t see Sebastian. He's only 'busting scams' within this thread. So his need of willing to help people is very dedicated to one ICO/coin/project. The conclusion is that his main goal isn't just helping us.

The fact that Credits hasn’t started a moderated thread indicates that for some reason they are ok with Sebastian turning this thread in a colorful canvas, although many members complain about the amount of (the same) posts Sebastian makes every day. Any other ICO/coin/project would have moderate it for the sake of their members/investors/etc.

Why would Credits block al the persons telling 'the truth' on their social media/telegram channels, but won't moderate this thread which is used as a reference by many persons? This website, and also this thread, are high listed in the Google search-engine (result page). Credits is allowing Sebastian to scare off people who are Google-ing for Credits and see this thread as the first Google result.

I leave it up to you guys wether he’s really mentally ill, or he’s just fucking things up because he was told to do so.

ps. Sebastian, can you add the missing-proof of their patent-filing to your why-credits-is-scam-list? They told us they would publish it last week but they didn’t do it... Thanks mate, keep up to good work!

Lmao, That's some aikido stuff right there. I understand your point though, publicity is publicity. Even when BCC was KNOWN to be a Ponzi it was still in the top 50 for months. I'm not claiming CS is BCC by saying this, I'm just saying CS is getting a lot of exposure from the "fudders" as well.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a way to install 2 different AMD drivers? on: March 23, 2018, 11:39:44 AM
What is your OS? Are you using windows or linux? If Linux you are in the clear because it will allow you to use over 8 GPUs of the same make (AMD).
If Windows, you wont be able to. Windows does not allow over 8 GPU's of the same make, you would have to mix between Nvidia ans AMD.

As for having 2 drivers, That isn't a possibility. You are able to combine drivers though, by extracting them and copy pasting certain package folders etc.

That's so 2017, with amd drivers 17.10.2+ and win FCU update you can get up to 12 cards.

Well... Damn. Didn't know that... Thanks for correcting me.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: need asus rx 480 dual 8gig samsung memory biose mod file on: March 23, 2018, 11:38:08 AM
No one really needs mod files anymore since Polaris bios editor kinda does it all for you. There is even a one click mod function for this. I would suggest watching this video to learn how to do it yourself.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your criteria to assess an ICO? on: March 23, 2018, 11:34:13 AM
1. Use case of the product. If it serves a purpose that will stand the tests of time it is something to consider. A token used as loyalty reward points for a antique store is less capable of sustaining it's longevity than a coin that has high TPS that uses a new and further decentralized system for proof.

2. Validation of Team and criteria of WP. Google the names. Reverse image search every member, check linkedin background. Check if WP is plagiarized or even coherent (Incomprehensible calculations with no explanations / Typos)

3. Soft Cap and Hard Cap, Are they reasonable according to the goals of the project? What are the percentages for allocated funds and what is the total supply? etc.

4. Is foul play involved in PR and marketing? This is arbitrary but still useful information. For instance is their social media inflated with fake users and comments and so on.

5. Communication efforts, Are the developers engaging with the community? Do they respond with answers to every speculative question or ignore it?
(It's super awesome to see lead devs interact with the community in excitement, even to those who doubt - Vitalik Buterin is a good example of that)

6. Roadmap, is it promising? is there an alpha already or beta? What are the teams deadlines etc.

All together these are my main focus points, there are a few other subtle intricacies i may have forgot to brush over.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Marketplaces which list tokens for free or easily on: March 23, 2018, 11:18:23 AM
eh....good luck. Even Yobit charges and they are the bottom of the crop. If you are making an ERC-20 then you should be fine with Etherdelta/Forkdelta, there is no listing fee and it is practically automatic. If you have a strong community it may just be possible to get a listing on Idex afterwards or Cryptobridge as long as you have a reputable project going, and a bit to spare
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a way to install 2 different AMD drivers? on: March 23, 2018, 11:12:31 AM
I have mixed 12gpu rig with rx 580/vega, since hbcc dont work on 17.10.2 and later drivers im wondering if it is somehow possible to install 2 different drivers on one system?
i tried install blockchain first, 8 gpus get installed. then upgrade to 17.12.2 and rollback to blockchain. but this end up in a bluescreen on start.
also tried this but same result https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/7pwsme/vega_dual_driver_guide_easily_switch_between/

somebody knows a way to make it work or a workaround?
thanks

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Different Hash power on: March 23, 2018, 11:02:21 AM
Hello everyone!

There is a problem with my hash power on the computer its write 220 hash power, but when i see the hash power from the pool on the website it write 200 for exmaple
on the program its 1 hash power and in the pool its something different you know why?

thanks for the help

Not every hash your machine produces is accepted by the pool, and so you have a certain threshold of shares that don't get submitted or accepted. The hashrate that is shown on the pool's network is an estimate of the amount of shares that have been accepted within a specific time frame, so the hashrate can fluctuate. It is only an estimation.

However if you believe the pool is shorting you I would recommend testing other pools for comparison.

I am really sorry, but imagine a serious company doing something like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/credits/comments/85rd9g/fake_and_scam_partnerships_the_cringe_with_this/

Is this acceptable? What purpose does this have? I really don't know, it is beyond ridiculous and strange to be honest.
How can somebody say 'it's all fud' when this is brought up? Insane

These are the "religious doctrines"  I was saying you speak about like a divine truth. Speak with your own thoughts. You can use it as a topic, but what you are doing instead is just pointing to it - that's it....

Although, I'm assuming you are the writer since most of the links you post are from Lilac7 on Reddit. Most of his statements are attacks on arbitrary faults (Like personality traits, business names, social media following, etc). Not only that, the article is referring about a user on the platform...not the platform itself.

(Edit: Typos and consistency errors)
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]CREDITS - New Blockchain for financial industry [15 Feb-28 Feb] on: March 21, 2018, 02:28:45 PM
For instance, I remember seeing this being posted by You (Therat) and Sebastian a few days ago, but ever since the author added that update commending credits for not being just hype (on the 19th) I haven't seen it posted since.

You mean this? "For now this is just a very clever marketing video, since most people will be too frantic about the TPS, and not actually read the article. That’s why I am actually impressed that they published the article, it shows that they aren’t just marketing hype at least."

Don't understand your point really. He maybe figured he was being too harsh so he did not want to jump to any more conclusions and insult them.
They certainly are hype, with some kind of a product. So to explain what kind of a product is, I was pasting this in here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/credits/comments/860gua/ethereum_scaled_to_15_mil_tps_for_fun_how_is/

It's actually the same guy that wrote a review. Here he explained how pointless all this really is. Indirectly pointed out where they are going with all this... Were you trying to say that we are somehow filtering the 'good' news or something? What is really good news here I don't know.
Nothing has really changed.

Essentially. The author admits there is still a lot left to explore, and is impressed with Credits actually notating their difficulties and objectives (not to mention the fact that they withheld their ICO to fulfill their promise of alpha - regardless of their ad hoc performance).
That second article, It's a good comparison but it isn't accurate - ETH is a COMPLETELY different blockchain built off of PoW using Merkle Trees, which Credits completely abandons - so there is something interesting to see about this.

All in all it's too early to call it anything at the moment, that is all i'm saying. The comparison, observations and speculation is interesting - but truthfully it's all just mental masturbation.

You have been saying that from the start but unfortunately, the price and the volume keeps rising you are a villain in this thread and I don't know for how long just be sure you stopped it when it reaches $100, your post is redundant, same old irrelevant posts.

Its not easy to fight hundred of bots and fake accounts. I see here we are just 2-3-4 guys warning newcomers about your scam project.
If you allow critic on telegram, medium, reddit, facebook etc and you wont ban users we can be there too and lets see then how much hype you can create.
Inform your scam team to allow us to present our facts there and i give credits no more than 1 month before touches 0.

Since the date of membership, all of the messages are anti credits.

Who are you fooling? FUDDERS sebastian787 and therat

Do not cry anymore you look funny

I commend you. They're diligent as hell - literally posting every day and updating their articles. They have a very strong motive to do this - I'd like to believe that it is out of the pure will to warn others but they aren't even willing to debate - I only see a plethora of gotcha and got ems from them and whenever there is an intelligent dispute they go ad hominem.

Now I agree, a bit of what they say holds substance but the other bit that doesn't - they hold tight to it like a religious doctrine.
Same goes for all the "shillers".

When it comes down to it - a LOT of the information for this project is biased (ON BOTH SIDES) and should be taken with a truck load of salt - because no one is willing to meet in the middle between the "fudders and the shillers".

It would be incredible if the Credits team did an AMA - It would stop the parroting of these bigots.

But according to this video, they were too stubborn to do so.... This is obviously a major draw back. See, The team lacks 2 things

1. Community interaction.

It's strange for me to see Igor Chuginov gladly announce his pride for the size of the telegram group in conventions, but only see him post there very infrequently (I mean incredibly infrequent). The team is big though so of course it is compartmentalized - but still there is a lack of information down the developer chain to community. I assume most the community managers don't have the answers to the questions we ask due to this.
As I said though, it's a big team for a big project so take it at your own discretion.

2. Transparency.

The team is super secretive about a LOT of what they do. Most answers seem to be left unanswered intentionally at times. This goes hand in hand with the goal of their project though. It's success is dependent on their exclusivity (1m TPS).

It's High risk and high potential. That's it....

Thank you for a honest reply. The irrational hype around this is outstanding. People who have no idea what they are talking about are shilling it to unreal levels. Same goes for their team, talking about the price and promising x1000 returns. They are openly talking about such topics which is beyond unprofessional for a serious company.

There is no way that honest and valid facts or arguments about this can be brought up in their telegram or reddit. They have created a totalitarian system around them and it is working wonders, ban every sense out of it. The articles they write every day are totally meaningless. Repeating some dumb stuff over and over again, then announcing a scam partner and so on. No need to comment on their own testing with flashy titles everywhere.

They just ignore everything and invite people to bash on other projects. They say other projects are scared and fudding them lol.
Cmon, a pretty simple explanation of their shady looking scam can be found on Reddit in 5 minutes, enough to realize everything they got is hype and shill. Only explanation from their team and shillers is 'it's fud, they are trying to discredit us'. How awesome is that?

Totally agree with your statement on the developers predicting their own price value being unprofessional. To go so far as to call it a scam before they have even reached a dead line on their roadmap is a bit heinous though. I understand all the skepticism, but you also need to understand a lot of the people who joined the telegram weren't politely asking questions for the project - they were blatantly calling them scams and using profanity constantly, unfortunately many others who were politely asking were ostracized as well because of it. Keep in mind its over 28k telegram users - being a moderator there isn't easy.

The hype isn't that irrational if they can pull it off, isn't it?
