21  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Gold Coins For Sale 2014 and 2016 on: December 18, 2019, 05:17:43 AM
You're correct that these won't hold the same value as the originally funded coins.

However, because the dies have been destroyed, there's no other way that most people will have a chance to own one of these (current coin owners are not selling).  Less valuable, yes, but still one of the more rare BTC collectibles around.

As mentioned above, though, these are offered for you, the BTC community so if people would rather just own the gold piece then that's fine too and I won't go to the trouble of reloading.

Hmmm

"RE-Pressing" coins.

Not sure I'm a fan tbh. Just feels a bit ... off.

In the world of Collecting, they will always be a 2nd rate item compared to the Original.
Is it worth it?

‘This particular group of coins were sold direct and not made available to the public, so its even more interesting as it contains production numbers that were unavailable previously.’

I hold some 2016 Titan Mint gold coins (Lady Justice Version). The COA states that there they are limited to 100. Are the 25 sold here numbered as part of the 100 and were they loaded and then redeemed? Asking as the thread states that the holo has been removed but not that they were loaded then redeemed. Just want to clarify that you purchased and weren’t a reseller for Titan....

Also I f they were numbered, then I presume Tim has the numbers and if sold loaded will issue the exact same numbers and not start at 101?

That's correct.  These coins are a part of the 100 and retain their original production numbers.   These were purchased and redeemed and I've offered to reload them with a fresh key pair and Certificate of Authenticity.

2) Restored coins. Tim the president of Titan Mint is willing to restore these coins and reload them with a new hologram and load a bitcoin onto them. Price for the restored coins will be $100 over spot gold + the BTC price currently $8173 per coin plus shipping.

Hi,

This is a post from today (December 17, 2019) and BTC is nowhere near $8173, where is this amount coming from?

Thanks!

One ounce of gold + one bitcoin + $100
24  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Gold Coins For Sale 2014 and 2016 on: December 18, 2019, 12:45:01 AM
I offered to reload these because they are so rare... and there simply aren't any for sale, anywhere, that I know of.   The idea was to generate new interest in these ultra rare collectibles, for the benefit of all current holders.  More interest means higher value in the secondary market.

This particular group of coins were sold direct and not made available to the public, so its even more interesting as it contains production numbers that were unavailable previously.

However, If the community agrees that they do not want the reloaded coins to be made available for the sake of maintaining the value of unpeeled coins in existence... I will offer these as peeled only, with no reload option.

If you're one of the buyers interested in the reloaded version, please chime in on the thread so we know you're here.
25  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2016 Titan Physical Bitcoins for sale - Silver and 24k Gold on: December 18, 2019, 12:23:47 AM
These represent a significant percentage of the mintage for these two coins, which is why I am open to uniquely accommodating this sale.  The holograms' authenticity and their intact status is the primary security for these coins (I have yet to see a hologram replica of our coins).  These holograms will show the first digits of their public key, and still link to a page verifying they are authentic and linking to the blockchain transaction that funded them.

It's weird you're in the Collectible business and don't understand that over time these intact coins become more rare due to a lot of them being peeled. The long term holder's coins grow in value as they have risked leaving the bitcoin on the coin (are we going to hit $0 tomorrow) in the hopes that others with weak hands have peeled their coins. Normally you have unpeeled/peeled but now for maybe the first time ever in this space we are supposed to price in some "used to be peeled but aren't no more?" coins?

There's nothing wrong with an unpeeled and a peeled secondary market. This "restoring" you are offering is absolutely an unnecessary service provided by your company. Your coins are damn near one of the highest/most prolifically faked collectibles coming out of China. You open up an extra attack vector and the only person that loses is the people that have trusted your coins for this long.

To me this looks like a cash grab. You take your money made from reholo'ing these and the people holding the original coins pay the price. Christmas lookin real good this year kids, Daddy's got a new job.

I'm merely accommodating one of Titan's larger wholesale customers and helping with their resale effort.  Not a cash grab.  I'm just as happy (happier) if they sell as peeled.

I do understand the increased long term value of the unpeeled coin.  In this case, my thinking was that because the collectible community has been asking for these coins, and there are none available for sale, this would be an opportunity for new owners who never had a chance to own these coins before (or even an awareness that they existed).

Generally more awareness creates more value on the second market.  Hence, I believed it would be appreciated by the community that some coins which were never made available to the public were now being sold.  That's why I offered to reload these.

I'll take your perspective into consideration though, and if it seems to be how most current owners feel we will just offer these as "peeled".

It would also be nice if Tim/Titan would update their website for the coins they have distributed. This is a cause of a good deal of frustration attempting to confirm a loaded value of a Titan coin, and date, then getting an error stating not found.

Please PM me here with the coin ID that you're having trouble with?

PM sent.  I'm open to hearing your opinion.  I just pasted some details on the process I'm considering above, as well, if that clarifies any of concerns.

2) Restored coins. Tim the president of Titan Mint is willing to restore these coins and reload them with a new hologram and load a bitcoin onto them. Price for the restored coins will be $100 over spot gold + the BTC price currently $8173 per coin plus shipping. These restored coins will be loaded only with bitcoin and will not have any of the multiple fork coins BSV, BCH, ect that have branched off over the years.

I don't think coin makers should do this.

I agree 100%!!  This would completely devalue Titan IMO.  I would have ZERO interest in ALL Titan products if Tim actually does this!!  People need to use their f**king brain!!
28  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Gold Coins For Sale 2014 and 2016 on: December 17, 2019, 11:06:31 PM

I understand your concern.  To clarify, anyone purchasing the reloads of these coins are not getting "new mintage".  We are not increasing the number of coins in existence for these.

The reloads will retain the existing production number but are getting a new public/private key pair and a new certificate of authenticity. The reloads will show authenticity on the Titan website, just the same as the original.

Because of the added security that comes with the extra layer of authenticity verification, I don't think this is actually leverage for fresh scammers to gain any advantage but I may not be fully understanding your perspective.

The coins will be clearly loaded with bitcoin in 2020 not 2014. That may effect resale value compared to ones that have not been reloaded. They are beautiful coins. I think its better they get recirculated back into the community rather then melted down.

I anticipate most of these will get melted down due to a lack of demand in a general bear market for BTC which is ok as I just need to extract the gold value. However, I wanted to give the community a chance at them first if there is interest.

You don't need to argue the merit of whether this is proper or not. Just think, somewhere out there someone that works in a scam coin shop in China is watching the interaction here.. they make some of their gold plated/titan fakes and load them up with 2020 bitcoin. There are already many TitanBTC fakes out there, this would totally end the resale market for any of their coins.

Sorry for disrupting your sale, I will continue this in the TitanBTC thread. I think you should go with option 1 and leave it at that. Many people like to pick up gold at spot/just over around here.

Tim from TitanBTC has offered to restore peeled coins. I find this to be against everything collectible.

30  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Titan BTC coin redeem scam on: October 25, 2019, 06:22:51 PM
Just following up, we were able to recover some emails that went to spam.  I've got your coin ID from those emails and I've looked up the record on your coin.

We show you requested redemption twice, with two different addresses.  It was redeemed to the first address you requested in September of 2018, but the website is showing the most of the addresses you requested redemption to (that address is from a bit of automation that isn't based on the redemption transaction).  I'm omitting the details from this public post but I've emailed you the transaction ID so you can verify.

Hi,

I'm sorry for your frustrating experience.  I did have our customer service team reach out when you contacted us here.  They requested your coin ID but we didn't see your email responses with the ID so that we could take action.

We have repeatedly had spam email attacks against our mail servers so you may have been the victim of a false spam flag.  We'll go back and search to see if you got caught in the spam filters for some reason.

In the meantime, Please email me directly at tim@titanbtc.com with your coin ID so I can follow up.

32  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: titan bitcoin on: June 26, 2019, 05:27:30 PM
I would like to re-open the scam accusations. I bought a funded 1 BTC gold from Titan Bitcoin at the Texas Bitcoin Conference and now that I try to redeem it, no coin. Titanbitcoin.com has so far refused to answer emails for 3 months, and the member here is inactive since May.

I'm not inactive and I'm sorry we missed your email.

Could you please send the info on your coin to guardians@titanbtc.com we'll be happy to get you sorted.  We have a record of every coin sold at that conference (as I was there in person) so it should be an easy fix if you're having trouble redeeming the coins value for some reason.

Pichotklasa is welcome to release any PMs I had with him.

I told him that I would pay him to come forward with the truth.  I did so in the hopes that he would reveal some aspects of real life identity so that I can evaluate bringing criminal charges against him.

If you, the forum members would like me to continue responding here, please PM me.  I'm happy to answer all questions at your request, but i'm afraid we're legitimizing a criminal's attempt at perpetrating a fraud by continuing to engage.

@everyone else...

We're not infallible, but the evidence in this instance points pretty overwhelmingly to the rightful owner of the coin.  Much of this evidence involves sensitive info which I am not authorized to share here, but they include verifiable transcripts and un-modified screenshots of the Social engineering activity as well as photos and videos of the coin, hologram, and redemption code.

That evidence, combined with the timing of the communications and our IP logs indicate that Pichotklasa
1. Saw the coin owner's post here in the forum
2. Obtained the coin owner's personal info
3. Impersonated Titan employees to gain the coin owner's trust
4. Used that trust to obtain the coin's redemption info
5. Changed the coin's registration email using that information
6. Posted this thread Claiming to be the rightful owner

Ultimately, with these particular coins, Titan Mint is the arbiter of ownership.  Our system and the 2FA product itself was designed to automate that arbitration as much as possible.  It's an expensive burden but one we take very seriously.

If anyone has issues with our determination of ownership, they are welcome to contact us at guardians@titanbtc.com and we will respond as soon as possible.  We'll work with all parties involved to find the best solution.
35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Problem with titan one coin redemption on: January 07, 2019, 06:11:49 PM
@Pichotklasa, If you've truly been wronged and we have somehow made a mistake, please file a report with your local police department including all evidence of your purchase and your travel to and from Peru, as well as any communication you had with the seller prior to and after making the purchase.

I have multiple employees in Russia, and one in Ukraine, and I will have them communicate with your local authorities to verify the police report is complete and the evidence that was provided is authenticated.

Once that police report is verified, we will consider the option that we redeemed the coin's value to the wrong party and transfer the BTC value of that coin to you once we've determined that we made an error.

If you're in agreement with this process, then please confirm here that you will be working with us (Titan Mint) directly to resolve this issue.  No further discussion will be entertained with you in this forum until you've agreed to involve law enforcement.  If you've honestly been defrauded, then reporting that theft to the police.  Putting them in touch with us is the next step.

Can you verify that he link leading to legit TitanBTC website? Also please look at e-mail source as "from" field can be faked.

His confirmation email from our website is likely legitimate.  He obtained that info from the rightful coin owner usin social engineering tactics, by impersonating myself and acting as a representative of TitanBTC via emails with faked headers and a freshly created Telegram account.

In short, we're here to serve the interests of our coin owners.

To that, can you update you website to show the Titan Tenths (Silver) you sold to be valid?  For example, if you look up the cuties shown in the photo below, they do not verify on the Titan website.  This is most frustrating!

I thought those coin database updates were completed months ago.  I'm terribly sorry about that!

Yes of course.  We'll have those updated on the site today.  Please do feel free to email me with issues like this as well.  I'm not available on the forums too often these days unless requested by a coin owner.

P.S: to teeGUMES, cash in hand don't have TX I am sorry. This scammer (OP) is currently based in Peru

We understand that you're frustrated that your theft didn't pan out as you hoped, but come on now...

You physically paid cash, in hand, to someone in a different country?  At this point, I think we know you're in Russia...so...How did that occur?  How did the cash travel from Russia to Peru?

40  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TitanBTC frozen coin (Possible scam) on: January 06, 2019, 09:44:12 PM
I'm like 95% confident based on language patterns and grammar that you are just a shill account for the scammer, but on the 5% chance that you're not...

We follow an extremely rigid set of rules to defeat social engineering attacks.  We have guaranteed the BTC value on our 2FA coins, and we take it very seriously.  We successfully verified the owner of the coin in question before redemption, using a number of factors.

We're also not done chasing down the details on the scammer in question.  When we're able, we report these individuals to local law enforcement.  We may have collected some identifying info on the individual in question and if it checks out, we'll be putting together a docket of evidence for attempted theft to be handed over to the relevant authorities.

In short, we're here to serve the interests of our coin owners.
