Well, almost a day has past and there have been very few POS block generated. Some people are still running the old version. I guess most of the coins are at the exchanges. If we don't move at least 120 blocks, the blockchain cannot continue as the new coins generated need to mature. I see that there is some interest on the coin. I will like to make a proposal since otherwise the coin will be dead. What do you think of adding some POW blocks: 2000 or so. This will allow people to move from the exchanges to their wallets and start generating enough POS blocks to make it POS only as originally designed by the OP. 2000 blocks with a reward of 5 ETD mean 10000 more ETDs. Since there are currently 1.5 million ETD, the inflation will be low. Do you think that a new thread with a RE-ANN can be useful? Those with the old version may not be reading this thread anymore ... BTW the current richlist is: E7MdiwtV2qSEk6FyCDVTzCLbbzFUekxy3K 167106.67851122 EDxtWqvURarBqZSaN6XUJ88EwN2GXdGQyc 105673.33986669 EFMmf97Tm2V7CgpuQsFgqkah3CZpG61au5 83111.8 E9FXcdV5t6TnZKh6cPJtbuyR94umfVwPVz 80719.38612333 E5gyj2anh7joUnk61jjyV5sfCTGp7BSEWV 63080 DxTCTYUgdp8Rwk94EqQtd5vSuotyu4aoxV 62993.98110122 EBmzZVmkY69bCSztG58fea1NbU8E85K8W6 55042.19840583 EFRMfye3r4v5Q7k83kPUgcTF3WQPCA6ZMR 50000 EAn2V8PTmb6WgFL8XzLjXexxWtyAeR9oBA 47373.06446823 DtzC3mMugPVEGvVAEtYdhCBF1VdTajZ2nc 46789.54458128 E3V8C6avBkGvvGp7xjvr5cDC9qZXQfjJhw 45834.36824203 E2k2csVA4ukLxysY7qnfQLcWUpLajQeeJg 42190.5150616 EGELCNSxho8x3HUuGAAU1YNcpXA4rhiZvG 38324.22733832 E2RfFYyZYVtjGJV4sQYJwyi4pRgSPpkaxJ 36860.08637491 DtuhbCt8Jh96hoxurHDUTwX99WjZ9X7AgC 30304.98 EGbm8eiywrw8megg4Grc4ipGaEEWu9AsxZ 29867.49614319 Dt4TLwWJP4AipCnBZ6zAsXPursxTxrK7YK 27481.33395847 E2wRptn7VqVJQT8qdkkq4cRRY6j6ersD5a 25000 DubEfphP4U1cZENcjJcXcDxfBsZ6rVf976 24141 E3Rymae9VTenfg1K3aDJ4wYC1KSaVYDner 23505.40110013 E7LppP8jP5TUCFfY8eqRWJBctfeCr75y46 23046.2222268 E1srJjEauQQNgP3uYqv4qGNC3qNfPXH9UB 22138.32250273 ECrjNsWmbuGhV4N86dggHYm2WNDNkmX27g 21810.04 E4gNVmJwiGvhnDNmocoFZcaC3sMM4awZ7b 17741.03 DubMWQcsc6JnHGzndHQ4i8vcTgxkVUsFmL 17148 E5RkidFjyBmPwFkJVGX9MQzcQk6KgKU68T 17000 DspJWUYDimq3AsTmnRfCX1iB99FBnpDZgu 16980 E2wHXAs7XAd6yMAcoK3wAjnvcyuva5SPUJ 16083.54855486 Dv52FSvHwJ2EXcGEwtPCM3cpVySpvdY9ja 15795 E94fwtYibq1CVTLY3gKdFEHtaKbhNfqGww 15779.23298014 E5pHepxRCg63qECJMffpNm8evunkjqWuZ7 15310.02401947 ED3PoE1Nj4UXB1Znq1YDtMy3u8c1SQB5G8 15238 E4V7FGP7N3YZr6vL3FBuu8XrAnE3F1dzi9 14822.78367308 DumQaNmX3vxs2KC6qwp1AYd8Xne8rWU1RY 14633.95385472 EG4QL3zqy2m1hmMhzyeeeQUNTNLSRs4Z5C 13980.2 E97TBLc4ZJFzU53MuPDkA5BQpavh1ot6F2 11550 EGbV2ZTpT3Jw1jkQf723pUhyTWbzTHW78K 9749.21487044 EDWTd4ewyWSaZC7UvBrFuzhmNFyarcxgJY 9192.29636216 E4q6g4xhGHYD8tKVuMUWMEtGzCdRnB5Wic 8047 ECxpt5nQNjzr564TMRawLR2iy63cLAxHMH 7401.27524964 E9gUHtba8pYmau4YEMSNMjKGsFGPU7xt5Q 7282.98 DwtruGQvLVVm1fvWGq6NzrbefYjiyWG887 7235.2222214 DymHDCMWwFnNPrhV8kA22M6Shjh27Pe77F 6850.34621534 Dw9CZyWnueeHG31NEEmkCRYjxctuw4egKK 6439.39987861 E2s37Xf9xVivsHqutt3yk4pmQU5QXD1Lbe 5956.22826857 Dt34DCafwcLtXyDSnrdkqL1g5rrDvcpUNv 5399.9 E7qtNgSwt4ZQuWW2gxtwz8BMKi6Yj9o8DT 5198.5649616 EDeVG5za3LccqfVSGKuCTQH2mzeb79K8RM 5042.9 EAwQLnpeWnToVK9Bg6pUmZT4ffetAQKpER 4548.9822258 DwkkLNufn2VpSyig391qTXFBV6B9VVgDex 4500 EFj73WWraDGwHTVnkZWbgrfMdGHhobALok 4486.32490367 DtxAmwjqJG35gG3deE7P8rKjBoEJq8Zw1c 4264 EDwZyjW8VEmw9Y71W7GggbYzEJYjoNmQRQ 3958.74755787 EFBZq15BRKYcrdviKwaf386jMP8WNgHjVW 3670 E2P27syBX6jDC41T4zDDT61VppjArssj8b 3321.64897204 DuE4YbVP7AvCWp48KxYNPvoGQJndkYjoE6 3280.38845141 E2UKBMwAQa74mPAQZkuPTpEBBUhuuf4Wzy 3078.24174942 DwNd5UM2hjoshoGzn3prnngX3Q3uEd2jqL 2909.40803852 EFApYutUJyCpFJXh3Gnvsp6ZXYHBMAhRLM 2892.28316742 DuCMb2LWrTcLZu5WhavVRdNUvADsnZ8e8y 2687.10660488 E9oRsHCCsMAcLdJc3pR86Y2xysZHFy45VQ 2542.62998933 EGjmuncSAJHg5U61SNHnfEvmkTZydwq1sz 2440.52693548 EBSiYM4cjikZ9CLmYNSizRdNQRhzWeTidG 2329.38269345 E9taP5jzVQyBzcFDbodMkDNKvs7mwsVBQ7 2148.1775 E6o2k9uRqkW5UkEYSGswS59Z9JBjs9A1Nt 1999.9 DsrbXSXfPk1UJZFpxqgrNdVFLSeCFFnMis 1993.84420525 E6MagsggZLUYgi2ZLeePojLcRu4Yx27bjw 1825.20632133 Dub7Tr5UyAkMzMg6XoRVeJedYwv9ahwdAL 1779.74932651 DuoEzAHKF5jLRmBiSSQ2127U6qsKpyjjAP 1765.41529938 ECD8BFqv4ds1vNouP5rypNodfS2jxQoi43 1725.01 E1YFswP6P5ZjZCa6wefgxtuSWNoLFofTAT 1635.021 E16RoLzRe6rXhLnnkVJ6FTJh12dKZKpwCN 1496.89970013 E4PJYAHZFh1FxV6tfiH3NYMxbbR5GLak8U 1486.0187953 DuAhhhnfGYgX4WU8r7nfYSbZd4DntDVsNb 1455.31710846 E784V9pyoS5qgUumXwmjL73JnsD9Qrc4q5 1406.9200638 DwkMbfpxhp5DpmaFNujEyWv1EiAyei7jFA 1403.36234352 EGyAnTJnaAPuiMzEVXaguXo4wJhDKWqJLW 1382.939319 EEwnNRHNj1wrzGp62VCbPKxw1gozTnt4pz 1311.75406993 E97EywWCZaas9n8AoZYSztYkEkQ5zssVc5 1254.3307268 E3oBxWqPpFe3DQzvLEY88vR177Mo5XsP1p 1230.98 EE55f1WG3Vgn28ci3Z95Fo72fjKZe6f4Xk 1199.98 E58GLwwpwti3vwQswspx6emwADiKnZ2M3k 1175 EBFVKrNxi11KWcs1hzMjqjhXVJuAmjckXT 1089.71890282 E1Gv6ZSB9xXeutYaHRYErQQHqpnk9tr41P 1003.98084953 E1pLQSWSLkhq92MeaTaqJNS4kUqzfXu8B1 994.4925556 EEdjT2fYcNiWqXDFyiBpFDhjqcFUYESXDP 917.73708077 E3ZY46bpikkn7rcxazsLPcwWxgxb1URJuc 915.6073159 EGQVNNKwkkqqVGCLzX96KVsppN5z7Ek5iX 910.251073 EDAJKYVRGqf4kVUjvf1cs1VuQmDrJnB7d3 855.96 EAFZvtdwCgv7cs6AUdCmtWNSnLWPgnjRo9 834.26199301 E1dZnYviH8xiSNDoND58XidshiDGJS3ay8 742.54768506 EFrvjqq5yfDDca1SS55R31zm85bfode61e 727.22960605 E8nkHmhig3Vhbda6jQGrWddn8ZrvMP8sie 727 E8JV4KnG6Hk7WGxVXRscjZzZgu6uhj6vDd 711.831346 EGENMipaw9CRcXmyM5kupkqB8pieAATZKV 684.18407057 E7MuYsE5XBWa6tACkuMtKszP8VmuKUhxK5 656.98019333 Dvwc3c4wcNVBEnKZGBvHyLJMo6DvVkxY9g 655.54320032 EBv6t1Fq7EYAzgFVhXMiBpBLxQtseNBRLF 645.3685892 DxPPkyzCe8zgDe3Sp8ehANkcoLGvhn6SRd 645.8 DuD2sFc9K81ekCaUXt2xq373kNxtG1L57i 640.7

The POS phase has already started: http://cryptobe.com/chain/EthereumDarkCoinYou can already open your wallet for POS. There are still people using pre-fork version 1.1.0, remember to update. I've still got no confirmation from the exchanges. bittrex and empoex have answered to my messages, but they haven't confirmed the move yet, so please do not withdraw for now.

POS starts on Friday at 13:00 UTC to give everybody time to update, so no new blocks for now. BTW, the blockexplorer has already been updated to the new version.

I've uploaded the windows version: https://github.com/liteuser/EthereumDark/releases/download/1.2/ethereumdark-qt.zipNot sure if I've been clear enough with the specs after the hardfork: POS Interest: 100% Min stake Age: 8h Max stake Age: 20 days POS Starts at block 13999 POS % interest will half every 60 days until a minimum POS of 10% (the halving starts after first 60 days) There is a maximum stake reward of 250 ETD (i.e. if your stake produces a reward of more than 250 coins then you only get 250 coins) There are currently 1535015 ETD and the premine was destroyed by bittrex:

I've finally push the code to github. The new repository is at: https://github.com/liteuser/EthereumDarkThe POS phase will start on Dec 5 13:00:00 UTC to give everybody 2 days to update. Please let me know if you find any issues. Your debug.log may grow since the wallet tries to generate blocks but are not accepted because of the date. You may test it and then stop it until Friday, or use reservebalance. The commit with the change is: https://github.com/liteuser/EthereumDark/commit/9dd5c4cf5169d64bd07e5d36ac4f7832282cbf22I've changed the POS so it works, added new seednodes and a checkpoint at block 13999. I'll add more checkpoints next week once the POS phase starts. I'll compile a windows executable later and will upload it.

A heads up to all of the block explorer hawks... I will be transferring my coins to a new wallet address the next few weeks as stakes come in. I think it is a good idea to do this every so often to increase security Have you automated it? Maybe using S4C?

My guess is we won't be seeing the other promised features of this coin but that's fine.
I can fix the POS and make some other changes, but fear that I don't know how to code the anonymous features promised by the dev.

Please can you clarify this. Is the maximum RECEIVABLE AMOUNT of stake 250 HBN at any one block (eg a chunk of 12,500 HBN with 10 days coin age will produce 250 HBN stake) , or is the maximum size of block (chunk) which will stake, limited at 250 HBN in some way ?
It is the maximum receivable amount of stake. A chunk of 12500 HBN should receive after 10 days a stake of 12500 x 10 x 1/365 = 342 which is above the limit. If my math is correct, 9125 coins should get you 250 HBN after 10 days. (I'm assuming 100% stake. Due to HBN having NVCS this could change according to the difficulty)

I've been busy this week, but I've got the code working and I've compiled a windows wallet. I'm testing that everything works before uploading it to github.
I contacted bittrex and they told me that as long as the blockchain and the coins are the same they will move to the new fork. I still need to email them to confirm the details. I also need to contact the other exchanges.
I've been thinking on the specs and I think that 1h stake is too fast. If you agree I'm going to change it to 8h and a maximum age of 20 days. The interest rate will start at 100% and will be reduced by half every two months until a minimum of 10%.
Our first stake will have the maximum age of 20 days since some time has passed after the POW phase ended, but all of us will be in the same situation.
One of the few remaining things that I still need to do is to setup a seed node. After the hardfork the old nodes will be in the old fork (I doubt that EthereumDarkDev will update them) so we need to setup new seed nodes. I hope to have one ready tomorrow and after that I will upload all to github and give everybody three or four days before the POS phase starts.

From the list of options in https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin -banscore=<n> Threshold for disconnecting misbehaving peers (default: 100) -bantime=<n> Number of seconds to keep misbehaving peers from reconnecting (default: 86400) Of course 86400 seconds = 24 * 60 * 60, i.e., 24 hours. Just been patient and reading a bit sometimes works

I've done some tests and the POS is fixed. The code is a clone of SYNC with some parameters changed. Specifications: Algorithm: X11 Ticker: ETD Est Supply: 1.4 mill (Math is a bit wrong - It's more like 1.6-7M Max POW Height: 14k Block Time: 60s POS Interest: 100% Min stake Age: 1h POS Starts at block 8200 POS % interest will half every 30 days
I would like to ask for input from you about these parameters: Do you think that we should leave the POS interest to half or do you prefer to keep it at 100% or maybe 50%? As the code is written it halves every 30 days until a minimum of 1%. Maybe just one or two halvings are more than enough. Do you prefer to change the Min stake Age from 1h to 1 day or to leave it as is? I've set a maximum stake size of 250 ETD to control inflation. I would prefer to modify the halving of the POS interest to make the coin a bit different from SYNC. I also like high-POS coins. Once I hear from you I will commit the changes to a new github repository and request the exchanges to update.

Nice command. Having some coin control for RPC is very welcomed.

Is this coin totally dead?
Yep, it never made it into PoS and/or beyond block 14000. Dev has abandoned it. If you're lucky enough to have your coins on an exchange with buy orders, sell immediately. Is there a way to re-enable POW to make the blocks flow again? There is a way to activate POS. In main.h unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 0; // 0 days That is obviously wrong. We need to change it to something different such as 30 days. I've tested it and it works and generates POS blocks. The problem is that it is 1% interest instead of the 100% announced in the OP. I was changing and testing it. If we are interested in reviving the coin, I can do these changes, but they require a hardfork. It should be planned in advance so everybody has the new version with POS enabled and let the exchanges and block explorer now about it. We should give everybody the chance to update before the POS starts. That means give them at least 4 or 5 days. Also, I don't know how to compile a windows wallet, but I'm sure someone here will be able to provide a compiled version. If EthereumDarkDev is still around, he could do these changes himself, but I fear that he has completely disappeared.

Is it me or is the staking not working? Dev was online today.
Glad I bought some when the price dipped down, but I'm a little concerned if the staking is broken?
If anything, it's good to see a decent coin without some ridiculously high stake percent, they seem to everywhere nowadays.
I said several days ago that POS is not working, but apparently nodoby cares ... From what I can tell looking at the code the proof of stake will not kick-in till after block 14000. However, I'm not an expert on the coin code. We still have a day and a half to find out if that's the case. OP says that stake starts after block 8200 (but the code has 8209, I think). I think that POW ends after block 14000, but I am unsure about what will happen with POS then.

POS Interest: 100% Min stake Age: 1h POS Starts at block 8200 POS % interest will half every 30 days
Shouldn't have POS already started? We are already on block 8500, and looking at the block explorer I see no POS generation ...

With the upcoming new wallet release i plan to implement max PoS reward limit. So the question is what limit should we set? First i thought about 1000 but it looks too much to me. I feel like it's better to set tough limit, something like 300 (HBN going to set 250 for example). What do you guys think?
I think 300 or even 100 is better than 1000. Since nStakeTargetSpacing = 90, we have about 960 blocks each day (like HYP) so 300 x 960 = 288000 additional TRK each day. I don't know how many coins are currently created each day, but 288000 means 8.6M in a month. According to the block explorer now we have 14.8M.
