21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which project you are more likely to invest in on: August 28, 2019, 06:00:41 PM
I've just recently learned about NULS and feel pretty excited on all of the announcements they've made such as their SCO. T
22  Other / Beginners & Help / How to Keep Your Crypto Safe on: August 27, 2019, 08:11:28 PM
After CipherTrace's quarterly report showcased $227 million stolen from exchange incidents so far this raises conversation around what people can do to protect themselves from sim swapping, malware, and typosquatting (which is new to me.)

What are other forms of protection users to become aware to?

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCO Lab Launches on: August 23, 2019, 09:12:10 PM
From my understanding of what I read on their website https://medium.com/@nuls/nuls-enjoys-the-first-mover-advantage-with-scos-the-staked-coin-output-rewards-model-a8f64bbf2516 is that the SCO is more so tied to guage the general interest before moving forward with funding.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber Crimes and Crypto on: August 13, 2019, 10:55:45 PM
Cyber Criminals Netted $4.3B From Crypto-Related Crime in 2019

All these Criminal Acts is giving Crypto a bad name , i think there should be more measures and controls to be put in place in other to curb such occurence.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/cyber-criminals-netted-43b-from-crypto-related-crime-in-2019-study
Bad name? Come on man, crimes happen. There is nothing you can do to stop it. People commit frauds and crime everyday using fiat currency. Is it giving a "bad" name to those currency? People use prepaid cards and gift cards to hide their identity when selling illegal stuffs online. Are those prepaid cards getting a "bad" name? Just because the crime is related crypto currency the media is exaggerating.

I feel confident knowing that cryptocurrency is better than fiat and will be able to showcase that through stopping these sorts of crimes before they happen. Unlike fiat. I think what Ciphertrace is offering is actually really helpful for the space.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will China Accept Bitcoin As A Currency? on: August 13, 2019, 10:47:15 PM
China most definitely will. I was reading about how Virgin Bitcoin are being highly sought after because of how they'll be regulated meaning a lot of people are looking into them from people in China. Do I think that the government will try to take control and own their own BTC, definitely. But I think China would shoot themselves in the foot if they don't accept btc

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your family thinks about that you into crypto on: August 12, 2019, 09:20:02 PM
There is definitely a lot of confusion and resistance in my family. They all think it's a waste of time and money... little do they know
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Identify Cryptocurrency Scams on: August 08, 2019, 10:54:05 PM
Why not identify them before they happen with proper technology like those provided by Ciphertrace? They're working much more closely with exchanges and ATMs now so hoping that gets scams down before they approach people
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will Crypto Intelligence be the Solution to FATF Regulations? on: August 07, 2019, 07:48:49 PM
Right now everyone has been watching the FATF Regulations closely and waiting to see if the government will drop the hard ball of flat out laws. While their involvement has been more alive than ever, I am interested in what everyone's thoughts were about companies that provide crypto intelligence solutions that are able to analyze scams, money laundering and stolen funds.

This report by Ciphertrace shows just how much criminals stole and people lost https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/

It's actually really alarming and this is only Q1!

I have a good feeling that companies that offer this type of technology might be the bridge between regulators and the crypto community. What do you guys think? Will there be a meeting point?

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If bnb overtakes eth on: August 05, 2019, 11:04:03 PM
I agree with the thread that BNB holds a good fight against ETH. I think once Ethereum finally updates this might help advance the coin a bit more. At the moment they are having technical issues.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for scammers, yea right! on: August 05, 2019, 11:00:03 PM
They can attempt to scam but they will be caught. Don't they know all about the different blockchain forensic companies like Ciphertrace who have advanced technology to find frauds, scams and money laundering on BTC?
32  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Career path and detours on: August 01, 2019, 11:05:11 PM
I feel like i've changed up my career paths multiple times. I still question whether or not I am on my right path. Does any one else feel this way?

Is it a thing to do with passion or is it encouraged to explore different careers?
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scarcity of Blockchain Developers on: August 01, 2019, 10:54:44 PM

34  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Paper wallets best practices on: July 31, 2019, 06:09:06 PM
I've heard of people saving a copy of  their paper wallet in their bank's vault. Maybe a hidden tattoo is a legit idea?

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: July 31, 2019, 05:54:37 PM
Really curious as to how the XRP community will react with Elixxir. When Chris Larsen was a major investor I saw a lot of excitement but haven't seen much since
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can lost Bitcoins be traced? on: July 31, 2019, 05:43:40 PM
I can see where everyone is coming from and the difference between lost versus stolen. Lost could be traced but might not be worth the effort or expenses unless it's a large amount. Stolen are definitely something that is being explored by companies such as ciphertrace who are trying to help with the legal side of crypto.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dash, ETC and Zcash ---- See these going up in value? on: July 30, 2019, 12:05:41 AM
You might want to look into Elixxir too. One of their big competitors that is going to come to the market end of summer/fall
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NULS Online Hackathon prizes up to $500k on: July 18, 2019, 06:10:51 PM
There are so many businesses that need to track their supply chain with blockchain. I would love to see Nuls implemented there
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy coins list - which one is the best ?? on: July 18, 2019, 05:49:46 PM
Has anyone heard anything about Elixxir yet? I want to know if they have a coin in the works with their privacy platform
