21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whales. What do you know about them? on: April 13, 2018, 05:39:56 PM
They start off with a ton of capital to begin, which already makes them smarter and more savvy than the average investor. Combine that with the fact they will have better connections in the industry you can see how they will be able to crush and fleece those who don't know what is happening. I know of a couple of these people and they are the savviest of individuals I have the pleasure of knowing on this planet.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Scammers Are Making Fortunes By Ripping Off 'Greedy' Investors on: April 13, 2018, 05:35:15 PM
Are we really surprised by this? I just learned about the biggest scam in crypto history today and it was off the amount you mention by itself. Clearly it was a ponzi scheme because they offered guaranteed returns but honestly I don't feel bad for those who get fleeced. When a project asks you for money or guarantees you income some red flags should go off. If not, hopefully you can learn after getting scammed once.

23  Economy / Economics / Re: Jim Rickards: The Fed Is Going “Cold Turkey” on: April 13, 2018, 05:30:45 PM
I tried to but it says the page does not exist Huh. Raising rates is probably good though, if they let them go to 0% or negative then you are likely heading for a deflationary economy like Japan's.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: April 13, 2018, 05:23:31 PM
When will Nano and or Raiblocks stop blaming the Bitgrail team for what happened? How about both of you accept what happened and try resolve it. I don't have any stake in that game but I know several people that do, and I think pointing fingers is the silliest thing either of you could do. Stop pointing fingers, and figure something out please. Thanks.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Will regulating cryptomarkets increase or decrease trading volumes? on: April 12, 2018, 04:56:08 PM
Dispose of useless cryptocurrencies: If we need the cryptocurrencies, this does not mean we need more than 1000 coins and tokens.
Reduce the price of ether: Since most of the tokens depend on it, it will also increase the demand for cryptocurrencies that can not be traced like Monero.

It might turn out to affect Bitcoin as well. People don't think things through properly. While I am not at all a fan of Ethereum or any other altcoins aside from Monero, they actually play an important role within the entire crypto ecosystem. Ethereum's growth resulted in people using Bitcoin to either buy themselves in these tokens early on, or to trade them on-exchange at a later stage. And that's just Ethereum with its ICO thingy. If we look at the global altcoin market, and regulations making sure exchanges as Binance (non fiat exchanges) increase the demand for Bitcoin to trade it against altcoins, it significantly helps in taking possibly hundreds of thousands of coins off the regular Bitcoin market. Binance alone has a trading volume of over 200,000BTC in the last 24 hours! Less demand for altcoins and tokens means less demand for Bitcoin.
Counter: Bitcoin's demand will be driven higher by institutional players who otherwise aren't getting in due to crappy unregulated exchanges. If there demand can off set the demand lost by altcoins then this is no big deal. Of course that is a big what if but I think we stand a better chance carrying on with some regulation than without any. I don't want a ton of oversight, but some is certainly welcomed at this point in time.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Only a mature and regulated crypto market will attract big investors. on: April 12, 2018, 04:51:29 PM
Well there are big players in the market, they just probably don't use exchanges. Instead they probably facilitate offline trades OTC instead of using crappy exchanges. Not until the exchanges are smooth and regulated do I think we will get the big players. I don't want regulation but if that is what it takes for tons of money to pour in then I am 100% for regulation.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Currency Always Fails on: April 12, 2018, 04:46:27 PM
I am absolutely agree, whole stuff of paper money is complicated since there is can be printed unlimited paper money in the world..
No doubt and once people realize the system is no good, they switch over to a new "fairer" system. It all ends up being the same anyhow, this is the first time in 500 years+ we have seen a real shift to another type of currency. I don't know what lay ahead, but I am excited to find out and be on the forefront of history.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best wallet for bitcoin? on: April 12, 2018, 04:41:15 PM
Use a hardware wallet that way you don't have to trust no 3rd party and you will have your own private keys. Not to mention you physically have to be present to use it, the security is top notch.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: market refresh or just a pump ? on: April 12, 2018, 04:37:14 PM
The markets do look great today but I believe it is too early to tell what will happen because of it. Unless you have a magic ball or are physic there is no way to know whether this is a bull trap or the beginning of a breakout.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questioning the safety of Bitcoin? on: April 12, 2018, 04:32:02 PM
Depends how you approach it really. If you bet all your money it is extremely wreckless, but if you bet a smaller portion of your money you should be fine. The bubble part is up to every individual to determine, don't believe what the media spoon feeds us.
31  Other / Meta / Re: New new rank requirements on: April 01, 2018, 02:17:47 PM
Lol, I cannot understand this new rank system. Can you write it perspicuity? or just a joke of April Fool?

Same happend with me. I am totally confused in this nrw system. Many of people said that this is april fool but i can't believe it. So can anyone tell us that this is truth or just April fool??
And if this is true then i have many queries to understand the graphical rank up system. So i hope you will soon gige clearification on this topic.

Go level up !!!!

Or you know they could wait until April 2nd to see if the system is still in place? Not terribly hard to do, and I don't understand why people tend to believe this is real still! Baffles my mind but oh well I got a good chuckle too upon logging on Cheesy.

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Far ... How Has the Merit System Fared? on: April 01, 2018, 04:26:06 AM
Honestly, I gotta say despite the fact that I know I won't rank up (even though I have semi-decent posts usually) I don't really care about it. The intent of merits was to stop shitposting essentially and if visits have gone down, it likely has done that. On the other hand though, bitcointalk apparently is supposed to be a place where you can thrive and earn a little bit of money. It really is a mixed bag but I am okay with the present system as is. A small shakeup wouldn't be bad, but it shouldn't be so drastic that shitposting runs rampant again. In any case whatever the mods decide, some people are going to be pissed off you simply can't please everybody.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT WILL BE THE PRICE OF BITCOIN AND ETHEREUM BEFORE THE END OF APRIL on: April 01, 2018, 04:18:21 AM
I don't think we are honestly going anywhere, or at least it doesn't feel like it. But I feel like the end of this consolidation will near and I believe Bitcoin will be near 12k, while Ethereum will go above $500 again and be inbetween $700-800. Obviously my guess is just that a guess, and nobody should take it as financial advice.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank Hackers Set up "Enormous Network" to Mine Bitcoin for Laundering Money on: March 29, 2018, 03:15:32 PM
No matter how bad these banks do, or no natter how negative the news may seem, as long as you insert the word 'cryptocurrency' in there, the meaning would suddenly change especially to those who don't know what cryptocurrencies are. In this case, the headline is hinting towards crypto being the target but if you read carefully, it is the insecure nature of the banks' own systems that enables hackers to get the money and place it elsewhere. Most people nowadays only read the title/headline and don't bother to read deeper, leaving a distaste regarding cryptocurrencies and thinking that banks are still the way to go.
And you know why we people in general don't read articles anymore? Because there is tons of misinformation, you have to source check, you have to actually read, and most importantly we are bombarded with tons of information in a day that its next to impossible to retain it all. That is why I only read the important stuff, not saying this isn't but people prioritize. It is unfortunate because then misinformation does go around because of titles, but there is nothing you can do about this in the digital age of news everywhere.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going $1000 on: March 29, 2018, 03:08:43 PM
I am not buying that we will hit $1k ever again, but if it happens I will believe it then. More likely situation for me is that we hit 6k and rocket off that in a couple of weeks or months.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australia implements harsh anti-crypto tax laws. on: March 29, 2018, 03:05:01 PM
Wow seriously good luck to all you Australian traders out there, sounds like a pain in the ass now. I wonder if they are doing this on purpose, almost to discourage getting involved in cryptocurrencies. Wouldn't be the worst idea, because literally everybody hates tracking that many trades.
38  Other / Meta / Re: what is actually our mission in the bitcointalk forum on: March 29, 2018, 03:01:34 PM
To improve the knowledge of everybody here about what Bitcoin is and where we are headed. At the same time as learning we are trying to get rid of the myths and nonsense that surround Bitcoin. Only when we have the knowledge can we leverage it to further our cause. After all, knowledge is power Wink.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to sell all my btc as its too low now :( on: March 29, 2018, 02:57:25 PM
Sell now and buy at $800 if you want. All those nosedives/crash pictures on news websites say bad things for Bitcoin.

Look at other safest investments also

800? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes How do you figure that?
Probably some wild ass pundit guess in the dark if I had to guess. Saw CNBC earlier this year while Bitcoin was tanking down to 6k they were saying we will get Bitcoin $1200, I don't see that happening but they could be smarter than me who knows Grin.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fee just 1 cent for 10,000 dollars on: March 27, 2018, 04:37:09 AM
Believe it is both that is effecting the fee price. Crypto in December was at 100 for google trends and now it is near the 20s, which means less people interested which means less transactions happening. Combine that with the fact Coinbase finally rolled out Segwit you were always going to get these types of fees again. Good luck Bcash staying afloat now.
