22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AIRDROP] eBTC | The New (ERC20) Bitcoin on: October 03, 2017, 08:51:00 AM
Is eBTC going to have some hard connection to BTC or is the name just a coincidence?

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My $50 000 Bitcoin bet on: October 01, 2017, 08:15:56 PM
I have just made a $50 000 bet with one of my friends. Come 2019, i hope they will honor this bet. They think that in 2 years Bitcoin will either have crashed or will have been hacked. This person is supposed to be in the IT security industry. I find it quite interesting that most people I know in IT are not interested in bitcoin. Most people interested in bitcoin in my circles are entrepreneurs.
BE sure to specify which branch of Bitcoin it is you are betting on - but I think your bet is safe enough

I would take some of that action too

26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: September 20, 2017, 11:08:45 PM
I think there is a place for both BTC and fiat currency. As unpopular as it might be with some people fiat currency can have balancing and wealth distribution effects that are not really built into BTC, this comes about via floating exchange rates and devaluations mostly. Similarly BTC has qualities that are not available in fiat such as universal value.

Both have there place, not either or.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the China FUD over ? on: September 19, 2017, 10:57:56 PM

Can more china FUD affect crypto prices  ?
Nope - Wait at least until the Communist Party National Congress is over and then a month without sabre rattling and it will be over for a while more.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: The phrase to describe Bitcoin on: September 19, 2017, 04:56:00 PM
In this phrase is how I explain Bitcoin in all senses.

"Bitcoin is the most free and pure form of a crowd-economy, free from the oppression of governments."
Its interesting how government has become synonymous with bad things. Even Bitcoin needs some form of governance. De-centralised, peer to peer, democratic, are these not the same values we should strive for with governments.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: September 19, 2017, 03:27:55 PM
Hey Bitcoiners? I'm desperate to start earning BTC
I'll do any kind of online activity as long as there's a Bitcoin payment. Where do I start?
Replace Bitcoin with Cash, try Upwork, Fiverr or other Freelancer websites.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Blackbytes on: September 19, 2017, 03:05:10 PM
Do the blackbytes somehow convert into ordinary bytes later on?

Havent find any information about your question, but I think that they are different coins so no, It won't be converted to Bytes, unless you exchange Blackbytes for Bytes.

OK I setup the ByteBall wallet and used the transition bot and got this....

Your current linked Bitcoin address is X

Please make sure that X is indeed your address and move all your coins to this address. You receive 0.00625 GB and 13,194,375 blackbytes for each 1 BTC of the total balance of this Bitcoin address on November 4.

Current balance of this address is .. BTC.

If you are surprised to see .. BTC, learn about change addresses: https://wiki.byteball.org/change-address

For the bytes you hold on November 4 you receive 0.1 new byte for each 1 byte of your balance, even if your bytes are not on linked Byteball addresses.

You also receive 0.21111 blackbytes for each 1 byte of your balance on the linked Byteball address, which currently is:
x

Move your bytes to the linked address in order to maximize the amount of blackbytes you receive.

I am just trying to make sense of bytes vs blackbytes etc

32  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-19] European Central Bank Criticizes Estonian National Cryptocurr. Plan on: September 19, 2017, 12:42:13 PM
I can understand Super Mario's point and there is probably legal reasons backing it up - but if the countries or the EU dont do it, it will happen independently anyway - heck it has already happened bitcoin and many other opensource crypto currencies.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: September 19, 2017, 12:08:00 PM
I thought the idea was that bitcoin was distributed and any person company or country would not have a detrimental impact on it - power to the people and that type of thing?
