21  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7 gpus on a single motherboard is posible? on: December 04, 2013, 11:27:11 AM
The MSI-z77a-G45 supports 5 cards out of the box and 6 cards max if you do a presence pin short on pci slot number 5.  It will not run 7 cards.  You need the GD65 to run 7 cards.  This info is personally confirmed by me and many others on here.  Do a search in the forum to find out how to do the pin short so you can at least run 6 cards.

On that note the G45 is a steal at $80, or even $125.  You'll pay 160ish for the GD65 only to get 1 more usable slot.  Some people really need that 7th slot to maximize physical space efficiency, while others just build more rigs.

You'll want to get 2 or 3 24cm riser cables to run the outter cards if you're going to run 6 or 7 cards so you can spread them all apart a fair distance.  Too close together and they get hotter.  The standard 19cm cables will do fine for the rest of the cards.

You only need 1x risers, and YES you WILL want them powered.  Either do it yourself or buy them.  If you are running more than 4 "big" cards on a mobo, the cables must be powered or you will eventually fry your mobo from too much load.
22  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Is the R9 280x Sapphire Vapor-X Voltage Locked? on: December 03, 2013, 11:37:16 PM
Also is the Dual-X unlocked like previous models?

Also what kind of temp difference is there with Vapor-X?

I want to mine this coin but I want to make sure there are no issues.  With the profits being huge with even litecoin I can't have another weekend debacle of mining fake goldcoins.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: November 04, 2013, 05:45:52 AM
So the 60k+ I mined in the last day and a half isn't real and gone forever?  What a crock of shit

We should all get retro paid at least the normal rate for the past couple days of losses.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: November 04, 2013, 03:52:04 AM
Over 200 confirms and I still haven't gotten a transfer I made over 6 hours ago.  I made it from a 0.7.1.2 wallet to a 0.7.1.3 wallet on different computers.  I'm afraid to upgrade the other wallet at the risk of losing those coins from what other people are saying.  Losing coins is completely unacceptable.

Is anyone else having problems transfering?  I made a few transfers to another wallet on the latest update and they haven't come through yet.  It's been over an hour
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which "undercover" coins are most profitable right now? on: October 08, 2013, 02:58:27 PM
New coins that are on coins-e, coinex, etc.  AKA; Coins that are NOT on coinchoose.

Why haven't been able to access this pool for almost a week now???  I've turned my miners elsewhere as a result.

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FLO] Florin | Transaction comments | Wallet updated on: September 27, 2013, 07:57:29 PM
The pool is finally back up.

Please note the addresses listed.

http://flo.smalltimeminer.com this is the pool you want.

The temporary pool I set up can now be found at http://flo2.smalltimeminer.com for a day or two until the balances are paid out and it will be closed thereafter. I will leave the stratum server up for a little while but expect it to be disabled within the next few hours.

These pools are really starting to piss me off.  Every other night I wake up to find my miners where shut down half way through.  I'm done mining at your pool.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Difficulty Keeps Going Up, Ultcoin Ratio Staying The Same on: September 27, 2013, 07:53:37 PM
One problem with coinchoose is they lag in updating difficulty.  Noirbits all morning has been near the top saying .27 difficulty when it really is 1.29 being 4.77 times higher.  This nonsense happens pretty frequently.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Difficulty Keeps Going Up, Ultcoin Ratio Staying The Same on: September 27, 2013, 03:08:09 PM
Yes my mistake
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Difficulty Keeps Going Up, Ultcoin Ratio Staying The Same on: September 27, 2013, 03:03:51 PM
If alt-coin mining is going to continue to be profitable this needs to change.  400-500% of BTC isn't shit anymore.

And coinchoose seems like a joke.  Right now it says Noirbits is nearly 1500% higher than BTC, but calculating it myself it's actually less than Litecoin which is nearly 3x less.  I see this kind of thing on there all the time.  Not only that it's killing all the coins thanks to all the coin hoppers.

This coin is wack.  It's been over 24 hours and my transfer still hasn't gone through.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switch][1.5%fee] multipool.us:Always mine the most profitable coin on: September 07, 2013, 01:22:39 AM
I ran a 48 hour test run using the Multipool option and I earned about 50% less money than I would if I mined Litecoin at it's current difficulty on it's own.  Upon watching the multipool option it was even mining coins that were more profitable than litecoin.  The bouncing back and forth between coins with the combination of PPLNS payment option is very inefficient for your miners.  It seems to be no different than losing out when you go Pool Hopping which PPLNS was designed to circumvent.  This pool would be good if it was PPS only.
36  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Teamviewer Issue on: September 04, 2013, 03:50:15 AM
The slow speed is just within teamviewer.  My regular internet download speed is about 3 times as fast using speedtest.net on my main machine, also hooked up to the same router.

The mining machines are still stopping whenever I exit the main machine.  It's not always a big deal since I just leave it on all the time, but you know how it is sometimes unrelated issues arise/etc and the main machine has to be shut down, then all the miners on the other machines stop.  It's incredibly annoying because I don't have the easiest access to get to them.  All power settings are adjusted on those machines so nothing shuts off, monitor, hdds, sleep, etc.  Now when the machine shuts down the other machines stay on but they just stop mining.  Any other ideas what might be wrong?

I like the ssh/telnet idea, can you do that within windows though?  Teamviewer seems to be a pain in the ass for this purpose, Windows is also a pain in the ass.  I plan to do the switch to linux eventually, but right now I just need to be able to control these machines successfully.

What would be ideal is a single command window where I can control all the other machines simultaneously without having to go into each one separately over and over again.

What do you guys think
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ASIC Testing on Scrypt? on: September 01, 2013, 04:25:27 AM
I just caught this on wemineltc.com.  Nearly 2 million KH/s from a single user.  I think it's fair to say that's even a bit excessive for a typical botnet.  Or is it not.

Maybe someone out there testing the waters on their programming skills?

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GRAND COIN - 1 GRAND PER BLOCK and SUPER BLOCKS released TODAY 13/07/13 on: August 24, 2013, 09:06:35 PM
miningpool.co isn't paying right.  Over 48 hours I got paid less than the 24 hour estimated rewards.  It's less even using the highest difficulty for the time.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GRAND COIN - 1 GRAND PER BLOCK and SUPER BLOCKS released TODAY 13/07/13 on: August 24, 2013, 04:05:59 AM
why on both of the miningpool.co pools my 24 hour estimated rewards are nearly 3 times higher than what is actually getting paid?
