21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPBC | NOW LIVE | NO PREMINE | NO ICO | FIRST MEDIA MINING PLAYER on: March 16, 2018, 01:04:16 PM
Baikal Giant N is real .... i found it on our local asic miner dealer - price $3600,-  60W and 20kH/s compare to my VEGA RX64 140W and 1.8kHs - actual Vega price about $800-$1000. We do not have any chance to be prifitable on cryptonight algo in near future ...

That's why many Cryptonote projects will be forking. Knowingly having ASICs mine Cryptonote is not an option for many people since it would only mean increased centralization of hash power. The real question is whether projects will fork EVERY time ASICs become a threat to mining Cryptonote blocks.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Where are files stored? on: March 13, 2018, 07:10:51 PM
Truly a great project!

According to the whitepaper IPBC leverages IPFS which stores files on nodes of the IPFS network, (I may have it slightly wrong).  Just wondering how that will scale and weather this may also leverage FileCoin which I believe IPFS will leverage for data storage.

P.S.: MaidSAFE was one I have followed for years who I was hopeful would do something like this but no luck.

Good luck with this project!

There are some big differences between IPBC and Filecoin. Filecoin has an almost endless supply of funding to build their product. IPBC built their ALREADY WORKING product from nothing. Also, IPBC plans to be a one-stop shop for certain things such as video hosting, file storage, business applications, and smart device entertainment. IPBC is way ahead of the game in terms of accomplishing their roadmap goals, so I would place my stock in IPBC when it comes to who will lead the market in the IPFS sector.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]★CryptoBridge★BCO★🔹Decentralized EXchange 📈RELEASED NOW BETA🔹 on: March 12, 2018, 01:39:16 PM
I just completed my test run of staking 10 BCO for 30 days. I was able to get 2 payouts comprised of about 90 different coins in very small fraction portions.

When I "claimed" my own coins after the 30 day period I was charged 0.55 BCO. That is a rediculous amount.

Maybe if you staked 1000 coins it would work out. But small amounts you will be losing money.

...users and volume grow monthly, and so do the staking payouts.

This nonsense is constantly repeated.

Average 10 day volume peaked Jan 23 at about $2.8 million and, now, 6 weeks later is down 65% at about $1 million...
From my perspective as a trader there is no reason to expand trading on CryptoBridge beyond 10 minutes/day.

Also, the profits were made by traders that did NOT stake, but sold into the ridiculous pump to $200 million cap (so I'm happy)...
Seem familiar? Yes, it's almost identical to the insane STEEM Pump of mid-2016.

Polo sold for $400 million and were doing about $150 million/day...
So if Polo sold for 3x daily volume... that puts CryptoBridge value in the $3-10 million range.

Measuring volume on Cryptobridge should not be done by USD. It should be measured in BTC considering that is the majority pair on the exchange. Your argument that the volume nearly halved when being measured in USD is because Bitcoin also halved compared to USD.

HI CryptoBridge  ! Where is my DOGE?
I did not see them in my wallet...

DOGE 1463,305946   4bf4dabae88cdf79b568bcf8d792467de40b5d2b4c7e76bedb3b77c2ae2c253b

DOGE deposits were disabled. This was announced on Cryptobridge's Twitter page as well as in the Discord. Your funds are NOT lost, however. Come join the Discord and post your issue to #Community-Support to get help from the devs. Also, send a ticket to support@crypto-bridge.org and they'll resolve your issue. Most cases involving accidental DOGE deposits are resolved and the users are issued a refund.

When can we expect trading ethereum tokens on cryptobridge? I read in december that its planned for january/february and now its the end of february and still not Smiley this would really give a volume boost in trading! Its a shame that you have raised the listing fee so high, not all coins afford this.

I am waiting for this as well.  Specifically, Token Lab and Expanse. It was agreed and confirmed in the Expanse blog that LAB would be added to CryptoBridge sometime this month. I understand that it takes time to get the coding and everything set up right.

But does the team have any "target" date for this?  It was my understanding that the ICO's offered on LAB would also end up being on CryptoBridge.

This is a win-win imo.

But I would like to see it happen soon. Any insight from a team member here would be awesome.

The team has stated that they expect Ethereum integration to be complete within about two weeks.

same problem here, can someone clarify what is happening here plz? are our coins still save on the dex or do we have to withdraw ?

The TLS certificate for the exchange's website has expired. They are actively working on renewing it and have disabled deposits and withdrawals until it is complete. This is to ensure your funds are safe and your account is kept out of the hands of malicious actors.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POW][STL] 👾Stellite👾 - decentralized node list via IPFS & ZeroNet on: February 08, 2018, 06:28:06 PM
hey dev. please help your coin. it is going to 1sats. just one step more to be official as shitcoin.
Just because it becomes a 1 sat coin doesn't mean it's a shitcoin. Besides, there's nothing the dev can do. It's the market that is offering to buy at a certain price and the someone is happy to sell at that price. If you want, you can offer to buy at 1000sat and pump us all up  Smiley

nah, dev is always able to pump their coins. the question is, "will they?"

one of dev's responsibility is to keep their coin looks good and powerful. dev can keep the price stable. anyway, if it decrease to 1sat then the chance to be listed in the other exchange is very small. and now what? dreaming to be listed in a good exchange like cryptopia at least? that dreams is too good to be true for shitcoins. okay, let say it is not shitcoins, but the price is going to 1sat. just like all shitcoins.

anyway, all coins that in range of 1sat are shitcoins. just admit it. you may love this coin but you cannot deny the fact that 1sat coins are shitcoins. no future at all. what you can do is buy in 1sat, and sell for 1sat. you may mine it but surely 1sat coin has no future. no gain, no profit. just wait until it dies.

It is not the developer's job to pump coins. We are here to develop it. We are here to get the code ready. 'Pumps' and 'dumps' are a way of cheating. We are not cheaters. We are trying to build a naturally expanding blockchain. Satoshi didn't pump bitcoin. He never applied to exchanges. We didn't have an ICO. We are working for free. It is the job of the free market to decide whether or not our coin is worthy.

well, then dev should make their coins worthy. it is easy to release coins, get money and let it die. dev will get easy money with this way. thanks to community and miners who make money to dev. hail dev!
First of all, stop calling everything a shitcoin. Second of all, we (developers) are here to build an innovation. If it will end up worthless, so be it. In the end, monero and other CryptoNote coins can adapt our addition to their technology and make themselves a little bit more private and decentralized, which is good for the crypto industry overall. We are not making any money what-so-ever. All of the pre-mine is there for development.

well, not everything i called as shitcoins. only coins with price of 1satoshi are shitcoins, or near to it, like 2sats or 3sats. why you look so upset about the name shitcoins? feel like yours is one of them? look, you started with 10sats and down to earth in two hours after got listed in the market then gone to 2sats, in less than three days. well, what is your coin position dev? the future of your coin is in your hand.

You need to learn about circulating supply and market cap. The higher the supply, the lower the price. Although, a low price does not equal a low market cap. When determining value, market cap is a more significant indicator than the price per coin. This coin is trading in the single digit satoshis because it has a large circulating supply with a low market cap.

When you talk about the team "pumping" the price, that is an activity done by scam projects. This project's team wants the value to be determined by the natural behavior of the market, not by manipulating the price with phony trades and absurd hyping.

Did the release of the coin have been made 10 days ago ?

The details of the coin were leaked on 4chan last week. Since then, many people found out about it and started mining it. The team just ran with it and accelerated their timeline.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My first mining rig! :O on: January 26, 2018, 05:17:00 PM
I'm surprised by the numbers of replies that I got already! Thanks for your comments and support, very appreciated. I will apply your suggestions :-)

What is the most profitable coin you guys are mining at the moment with your GPUs? According to whattomine.com I see that at the moment it's Zencash, ZClassic or Zcash that would be the most profitable.

Thanks.

Don't use use whattomine to determine the profitable coin to mine. The coins at the top are already being mined and have insane difficulty and hash power on it. You need to do some speculative mining to determine what will bring in good money. Scour all of the crypto forums, chats, social groups, etc. to watch for new coin launches. If it is interesting and you think it has potential, check to see how many people are mining it and what the difficulty on the network is. If you're early enough, you'll be able to mine a ton of it and get out. When it hits an exchange, watch the price and see if you want to sell. In between your spec mining plays, choose a default coin to mine so you're making money. Some people choose ETH, Sumo, or Nicehash. I do Nicehash in between the spec mining so I am always making money when I have nothing good to mine. This takes a lot of research and some instincts to know what will make you money, and what won't. The more you read launch announcements and mine shitcoins, the better you'll get at finding gems.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DAG + Smart Contracts] Constellation | Horizontally Scalable Hylochain on: January 26, 2018, 04:40:35 PM

Important Dates

Constellation comes out of stealth mode - January 2018

First Private Round - CLOSED

Strategic Private Round - OPEN

Does it mean private ico?

It means it has several opportunities for accredited investors and project insiders to buy up most of the supply. This is why ICO's are shit and contribute to the increasing centralization of crypto.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POW][STL] Stellite - private, untraceable, and truly decentralized on: January 26, 2018, 04:22:10 PM
Will there be a coin burn sometime in the future because 21b is quite a lot in my book

The total supply doesn't matter if you're worried about making money on this coin. What matters is the market cap. Also, their goal is to have their coins in the hands of as many people as possible so 21 billion is a reasonable amount so that they don't become so rare that people cannot get their hands on them.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My first mining rig! :O on: January 26, 2018, 03:03:45 PM
You should spread out your risers more so the GPUs don't dump their heat on each other. As for Windows, plug one GPU DIRECTLY into the PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard and install Windows. You don't want to use the risers until you know the OS is stable and set.

When it comes to connecting the risers to the motherboard, I do one at a time and reboot in between confirming that the OS sees the GPU. This way in case a riser is bad (they are notorious for poor quality), I know which one is causing the issue.

Wont last with big boys

didnt they say the same thing about monero or what ever coin came out with no white paper or nothing?

and what big boys? ETN has proven to be a scam and it rose to 12 cents, they promised $30 monthly returns on their white paper for their mobile miner,  got caught in a lie, and they dont even have a mobile miner. Its just a cryptonight coin right now, with the IDEA of a mobile miner.

so if they could get a working miner going they might will kill it.

How is ETN proven to be a scam? Their mobile miner app is in beta now. And they actually have some real marketing that tries to make some real deals. Its a bit different project than most of these coins that are put out by 15 year olds. I think people made a lot of money from their investment in ETN ICO, so calling it a scam is nonsense.

https://www.facebook.com/electroneum/videos/1945639132364722/

There already are real miners for mobile, but they will not only heat up your phone but also drain your battery. The ETN mobile miner is basically a marketing app, its main purpose is just to airdrop small amounts of ETN for people to get into crypto.

Here is a person actually mining ETN on a iPhone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyYxu3DFong

There are plenty of actual real miners for mobile phones.

And if the intention is to make a crypto for mobile mining, the right way to go would have been cryptonight-lite that is much more suitable for low end CPU:s because it only takes 1mb of cache per thread.

We're not just about marketing and mobile mining, we are about bringing innovation to this space and plus we have no marketing tricks and tactics in our back pockets we just want to do what we and the community thinks is right. For instance, we're doing an IPFS and ZeroNet integration for node list distribution (among other things) which has never been attempted by any other coin. Mobile mining is a misnomer because we plan to help people from all over the globe in mining on anything that has a silicon board.

You are selling a product, but you have no marketing? Have you ever sold anything?

Here is the difference with ETN and you, do you think the large audience has any interest int IPFS and ZeroNet geeg terms? No. This is exactly why ETN is doing fine.

There are hundreds of these "community coins", ETN took another route. It aims for larger audience, and knows it's mostly a marketing effort. Large audience = value.

ETN is all about marketing their product before it is even functional. This project aims to be about the tech first, then focus on marketing. If they can achieve what they claim they want to, then it can be a successful project. Marketing is not as significant as the tech quality.

good job devs . what miner you guys currently using to mine on the pool ?

I'm using XMR-stak for my AMDs.

how are you connecting to the pool? I'm getting an error pointing to my wallet address

This is the pool with the most hash power: http://89.221.212.71

You need to pick a port number that meets your type of hash rate. Your wallet address should be the one you created in the wallet generator or the wallet you compiled from source. Put these things in your config and your set. You can also find the correct command string from the Getting Started tab on the pool's website.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ⭐ Snowgem ⭐ Equihash - No Premine - No ICO - Masternode soon on: January 24, 2018, 06:16:05 PM
Hey guys, I have already started mining it because it looks like a promising and interesting project.

Please excuse my noobness I am fresh into the crypto mining business, can anyone explain why does snowgem not appear on this site
https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/

Also what does it mean for a currency once it has a master node, especially with regards to snow gem!

Thanks in advance !

The coin is not on CoinMarketCap because the total volume isn't high enough to meet their listing qualifications. A masternode has several functions depending on the project. It relays transactions, provides anonymity to senders and receivers, and it helps stabilize the network. One of the perks of owning a masternode is you get a certain percentage of the block reward simply for hosting a masternode. The masternode implementation isn't expected to be operational until Q3 this year. Also, it is still being discussed on what the collateral should be.
