21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XCH] ★ ClearingHouse ★ Initialization Stage ★ on: August 12, 2014, 07:14:50 AM
OK, I obviously don't understand something here...

I saw at Clearwallet that I had the ability to "send" my recently acquired XCH to my VIA wallet. ...So, I sent 500 XCH to see what happened.

I guess I expected to see a separate entry in the wallet showing 500 XCH. Instead, the wallet converted the 500 XCH to just .0012 VIAcoin.

I certainly didn't expect this "send" feature to reduce the 5 VIAcoin worth of XCH (5 via = 500 XCH) down to .0012 VIAcoin. Pretty glad I didn't send ALL of my XCH to my wallet. (A 99.98% devaluation is pretty harsh.)

I would respectfully decline the request to "help" AC. There is plenty to do with WC.

No need to be disrespectful; you could certainly offer some pointers or informal help, but I wouldn't commit time / resources that ought to be invested here.

Until we have a more complete special thanks post, we must offer our sincere gratitude to: CryptoWest & Mindfox for their dedication to this project and making the wallet happen.

.058 BTC ($25) on its way. Regardless of what happens with Whitecoin, I'm happy to chip in some to compensate those who've been working to fix the wallet.

Prepare you WC address for donations Cheesy

Agreed...We all benefit from this, so as soon as this wallet is proven stable, I hope everyone will donate something to those who did the work.

Man, I like this one...but I'm guessing it won't do much to calm the "flame war" between the blackcoin / whitecoin supporters.

It's ok  Cool you're welcome  Wink

Ok, man. I'll "set aside" what I planned on sending (1,000 WC) for a week. If it goes "to the moon" in the next 7 days, and if you change your mind, feel free to collect on the offer.  Smiley

if they put the multipool up asap... it is only going up. Imagine if you can roll 80GH on to a coin with no minting? crazy.

I understand that this coin can only be "mined" for about another week...what I don't understand is how a multipool (after the mining period is over) will have a positive effect on its value. (If people can't earn coins mining, why would they continue to mine; how will they be paid?...is this the "proof-of-stake" thing.)

Any clarification or useful links appreciated.

A multipool mines other coins e.g litecoin , and switches it into bitcoin and buy whitecoin for it.
A constantly buy power over a value of time is granted this way! Cool

Ahh...very nice. Got it. (Thanks for the quick reply...if you've got a WC address, let me have it. I'll send you some for your trouble.)

Have they done this yet? Still 24 blocks out! Need the extra hash badly!!

Looks like there are only 21 blocks left to go, so I'm guessing yes. We'll get there.

Nice.

I've been watching the price closely for the past couple weeks. Yes, it has gone down, but nothing huge (considering the severity of the problem.) Does anyone really think that waiting another 5 days is going to do so much damage that, 5 months from now, everything will be lost? If this coin is that weak, it has no future regardless of when the gravity well is implemented.

That said, I think the idea of paying multipool.us 10 million - 20 million moon to accelerate the process is a pretty good idea. If this is possible, I'd be willing to donate 10%. (1 million to 2 million moon.) Anyone else?

OK, I just threw 8 of my 7950's on Moon. Can't hurt.

Regarding lowering the starting block: if you think 26815 will give the pool operators enough time to update; then sure...why not?

it shouldn't be done for PR solely, it needs to have a cause as well

A fund of "X" Mooncoin will be given to "X" cause once the Mooncoin reaches da moon.

I wonder how much a small rocket (capable of leaving earth's atmosphere) would cost. Talk about a publicity stunt:

"The Mooncoin community has placed a single mooncoin aboard this ship and, on this day, will be sending it 'to da moon.'"

Big ceremony, "to da moon" and "Mooncoin" plastered in big letters on the side...

And let's be honest, it wouldn't really have to actually "hit" the moon. Just aim it in the general direction, launch that bad boy, have some regular "tracking updates" (like they do with "Santa" every Christmas) and call it a day.

@JoeRigs  How are you getting 560-570 out of a 7950? Best i can do is ~525

What cards are you using? Also, are you using Afterburner to tweak them?

I used two gigabyte hd 7950s in my first rig and they both got 600 out of the box. Unfortunately, those cards are "voltage locked" and were harder to keep cool. So, I went with the Sapphire cards on the second rig...with some tweaking (shown in the Afterburner screenshot)  I was able to get them up to where they are now. (I'm sure there is still room for improvement, but I'm OK with their current numbers.)

Nice case lol

Yeah they ain't pretty, but they're cheap, easy and keep the temps down. Just ordered four more. ($13 for two at Walmart)

EDIT: The Walmart collapsible crates are a little smaller...damn!

I'm nowhere near an expert on all this (just started researching and building about a month ago), but I've got a 3-card 7950 rig on an 850 gold power supply. With the current Afterburner settings, it's running under 770 watts. (The processor should be about 65 watts of the total) I've attached pics for reference.

Side note: The reason I've got the "power limit %" on +9 is because it smooths out the GPU usage. For some reason, the Sapphire Radeon HD 7950s seem to jump all over the place at stock "0", and are stable at +9.
