Hi,

thanks for the info. Seems like a solid bug, will hammer it out in the next version.

Regards,
glph3k

Hey, just noticing a UI error with switch-radeon-gpu.

Looks like it's mixing up the names.  4,5 are in fact the VEGA cards.  Numbered order matches CLINFO as well.

The default setting will correspond with the settings of version 1.0 and are displayed at startup.
- Vega Frontier 'Large Pages' support added, up to 30% higher hash rates for CryptoNight-Heavy, 5% increase for CryptoNight
- Includes the switch-radeon-gpu command line tool to restart GPUs, switch on/off HBCC, Compute Mode and Large Pages
- Nicehash supports now up to 24 GPUs
- --maxmem option is deprecated, will now be mapped to an corresponding intensity setting
- --forcecompute is deprecated, 'Compute Mode' of Polaris GPUs will be automatically detected. To overwrite use the --intensity option
- Default mining algo changed to CryptoNightV7, to still mine CryptoNight Classic add --algo=0
- Tested with Radeon Adrenalin Driver 18.4.1

- Up to 3% performance improvement with new option --maxmem to allocate the maximum memory of the card. For Vega cards the "HBCC Memory Segment" has to be disabled in the Radeon Settings to use the option. Disadvantage is a higher risk of hash rate drops when the --maxmem option is used.

And if we didn't install the Radeon Setting? I use one of the lastest driver (around 18.3.2).

With Radeon Settings the AMD Adrenaline Radeon Settings is meant, the icon with the red balls circling around.

The "HBCC Memory Segment" is an option in the "Global Graphics" tab. I am not aware of another tool that can toggle the HBCC memory option, anyone?

If not the improvement is not dramatic and the stability is really worse then without the option... but if you like give it a try maybe it works for you.

Hi,

Cast XMR version 1.0 is available.

Now CryptoNight Lite variants are supported. Lite coins like Aeon, IPBC and Turtle.

With the Lite algo higher hash rates can be achieved as it only uses an 1 MB scratchpad.

Following hash rates should be reachable.

RX Vega 56/64: 4250 Lite Hashes/s
RX 470/570/480/580: 1600 Lite Hashes/s

Use the --memset option to squeeze some extra hashes. It was enabled by default in the 0.9.7 version, now it is default disabled. It is probably only recommendable if a hash rate monitor is used to reset the GPU if an hash rate is drop is detected. Btw. from my observations the 18.3.4 drivers seem more resilient against hash rate drops then the legacy blockchain beta drivers.

Glph3k

Cast XMR Version 1.0.0 (2018/4/24)

- Support for Aeon (AEON) CryptoNight Lite variant set --algo=3 to mine
- Support for Turtlecoin (TRTL) CryptoNightV7 Lite variant set --algo=4 to mine
- Support for Interplanetary Broadcast Coin (IPBC) CryptoNight Lite IPBC variation set --algo=5 to mine

I'm getting just under 800h/s per RX570 clocked at 1220/1900 with the following command line using 0.9.6:

cast_xmr-vega -I 0 -S europe.cryptonight-hub.miningpoolhub.com:17024 -u xxx.yyy -p x -R --nonicehash --fastjobswitch -G 0,1,2,3,4,5,6

Anything I could do to improve? Setting --forcecompute just cuts the hashrate in half...

Hi,

which driver version are you using?

Unless you have the blockchain driver installed:

--forcecompute is the way to go to get the extra hashes. Are you sure that all cards are switched to "Compute" mode in the Radeon settings?

Hi anyone having issues like this with a 4x Vega 56 Build    :

[10:38:29] GPU1 | 56°C | Fan 4428 RPM | 1885.0 H/s
[10:38:34] GPU1 | 56°C | Fan 4445 RPM | 1885.7 H/s

After some time, the hash rate just drops drastically

Thank you

Hi,

try the option "--ratewatchdog" to monitor the hash rate and automatic restart of a dropping GPU.

Or use the cast-xmr-ui for monitoring:

https://github.com/anadventureisu/cast-xmr-ui

Btw. are you using the Blockchain Beta or 18.3.4 driver?

I've been receiving huge ammount of "Share above target" errors for several days mining on nicehash. New version doesn't help. Tried different algorithm switches with no result. Migrating back to nicehash miner.

Hi,

problem on nicehash could be the switch of Graft (GRFT), the PoW change seems hanging between CryptoNight and CryptoNightV7.

Also IPBC switched from classic CryptoNight to a new CryptoNight variant (yes, support is planned).

Seems currently hard for Nicehash to keep their streams clean with all the forking and pool updates.

will you be adding cryptonight lite v7?

Yes, working on it.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: April 17, 2018, 08:36:58 AM
If it could help the developers, I see that my 2 Vega 64 that have low hashrate (150h/s) when mining cryptonight-heavy is recognized as gfx901. The others that is recognized as gfx900 has normal hashrate (1600h/s).

Hi,

that is indeed an interessting info! That is probably the reason for the bugger.

gfx900 means that HBCC memory is turned off
gfx901 means that HBCC memory is turned on

Please try to turn off HBCC memory on all cards.

Hi,

to all who experience low hashrates with CryptoNight-Heavy. If you are using the Blockchain Aug23 beta drivers. it is a known problem.

A fix will be released in the next version.

Hi, didint work here, I have 4 vega 56 and takes 300h/s each vga with --algo=2 and without that there's lots of errors
I'm using win 10 and blockchain driver 17.30.1029

Hi,

sorry, Heavy was only tested with 18.3.4 drivers. Will check the situation is with the blockchain drivers.

Cryptonight heavy have problem. I am on 6x rigs with rx 470 on every rig gpu 1 have low hash rate ~100 h/s. cryptonight v7 is ok

Hi,

do the cards have 4 or 8 GB? Which driver version? Would recommend 18.3.4. What do you mean exactly with 100 h/s? 100 h/s lower or really just 100 h/s?

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: April 15, 2018, 07:19:33 AM
It doesn't work on Heavy vega 56/64
It' starts but than crash or hashdrop to 200 h/s. Even on start can't reach 1340~1400 barely 950 h/s per vega.

Hi,

which driver version are you using? For Heavy would recommend 18.3.4.

Hi,

there is an update of Cast XMR available.

Cast XMR now supports CryptoNight-Heavy.

CryptoNight Heavy is different, the read/writes are smaller but use a larger "scratch pad" so the hash rates are not comparable with classic CryptoNight.

Here are some first performance values (tested with 18.3.4 drivers):

Vega 56  945 MemClk: 1450 Heavy Hashes/s
Vega 64 1025 MemClk: 1550 Heavy Hashes/s
Vega FE 1025 MemClk: 1640 Heavy Hashes/s
RX 570 Compute Mode: 850 Heavy Hashes/s (Polaris picks up!)

glph3k

sir... support haven and stellite pliss

Hi,

stelllite is support just use the option "--algo=1" to enforce CryptoNightV7,  that is what they switched to.

Looking into CryptoNight Heavy for SUMO and Haven. But as stated earlier it will probably result in a new app. The changes from CryptoNight to Heavy are to hefty to be implemented efficient in one kernel. So stay tuned.

Hi guys,
After a while I am switch my rig to monero and I am receiving a tons of rejected shares, because of the duplicate share. What can caused this problem? I have 8x Vega´s 64. And I am using the last version of Cast XMR and old blockchain driver...
THX

Hi,

the problem is that the current Monero block time is very high to the slow difficult adjust (> 15 minutes per block). Nicehash search space is exceeded in about 20 minutes with 8 Vegas and the GPUs search in overlapping nonce ranges.

If you are not using a proxy use the option "--nonicehash" to disable nicehash support. That should fix it.

I may of missed it but does the latest version not need any changes or switches on/off to enable V7? It will just carry on mining once the fork happens?

Hi,

for Monero the switch will happen automatically. It will be determined by the block version, which will switch to 7.

It will state "New Job received (CryptoNightV7)", note the V7, then you will know you are on the new fork.

1000 blocks to go...

Will you be updating to support Cryptonight-Heavy implementation that SumoKoin just implemented in their fork?

I hope it will support the Cryptonight-Heavy implementation.

Hi,

CryptoNight-Heavy is used only by SumoKoin? Or are any other coins using or planning to use Heavy?

Hi,

thinking about it. Not sure if it will integrate in Cast XMR but as an separate app as the changes can not run optimal with the current kernel layout.
