What are the differences between SMOS and Litecoin BAMT? I'm leaning towards BAMT since it seems more transparent and no hidden mining scripts. Are there any advantages worth going with SMOS? I'll be running 6 tri-x 290s.

Check out this link, it shows how to patch cgminer with a bunch of extra goodies, one of which is support for scrypt-jane. I followed these instructions and am mining s-j coins on my SMOS installations right now and it was pretty easy. SMOS Linux 1.3 dont detect integrated LAN on my MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming MB (E2205).
But according to changelog SMOS-Linux from version 1.3 should support it. Any idea?
Yes, it support. Just need to start it. Type: cd /root/smos/network/backports-3.10-2
make defconfig-alx
make
make install
modprobe alx

Hey, thanks for the great work!
But since I upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 My Rigs restart every night @ 3 O'clock. Can I check anywhere any logs to solve it?

Hy
I wanted to change some settings but i get an error now.
When I push change the config opens but when I push the update config button it says error opening file is write mode...
What is the cause?
It used to work fine before

Guys, congrats on your efforts, however, I am really strugglng to get this working.
OK, so I downloaded SMOS 1.3, and it recognised all of my 6 GPUs, however, only when booting into failsave mode.
This is OK me, even great.
However, whatever settings I do input into the cgminer,conf, all the rig is crashing, both mining, SSH access, hashrate on pool, and I can shut it down only from the mobo power button.
I have tried and copied literally few different configs from folks, using same cards as mine - R9 270 and getting average of 480 khs.

I will be happy to donate for the further development of the project a bounty of 1 LTC if I can get these running....
Try last step from tips. Maybe you need to put one of card direct on moatherboard. |

hi, have few qs
1 I have my machines hanging quite a lot, is there a log file, so I can see what causes the problem?
2 Is there a chance to get remote access to machines vnc/teamviewer?
3 What about cpu mining?
Look it in /var/log/ You have video how to setup teamviewer on smos web. You can mine cpu too. @macioman I think you push your cards too much. |

If I install keccak from your link, the scrypt version of cgminer is still available ?
Or, once installed, I just have to change the "scrypt" argument in cgminer.conf by "keccak" ? and I can switch whenever I want ?
cgminer stay, you just have option to mine custom with keccak or mine with standard cgminer. Keccak you can run manuel. |

Does the vertminer install overwrite cgminer or is it's own install?

Just install it, you need to run manuel, just need to run script. Its better way ( i think, and users suggested for that ). |

Hey guys,
I am having a weird issue. CGminer will only start if I have the stock settings in my .conf file (947/1250 for my r9 290s). I can overclock them from within cgminer no problem and they are stable. But if I try to put anything other than stock in the conf file it crashes when cgminer opens.
Thoughts?

When i do the command ./cgminer -n this is the output : http://imgur.com/bVxEwsT . ERROR ADL Initialisation Error! Error -21! When i login to the GUI via the webbrowser, it says that there are problems with my 2 GPU' s : http://imgur.com/u8fncqbDid you get this error fixed? I have the same problem. Everything works well with 1 GPU, but after adding the second I get the ADL Initialisation Error. -21!. I also get "ADL api failed. And, atitweak -s spits out: Error getting clock speeds for GPU1. Anyone else have the same issue? Solutions? Thanks. Try last tip from tips. |

Love the OS! Not a linux user, but I'm trying  thx some comments: - wonder if there is a way to install wine - when adding a new application, there seems to be no default launch configured, no application launcher' - can we add support in cgminer for keccak? thx try it with apt-get i made video tutorial how to configure autostart script, you can see it in video section. send me that cgminer, i must try it, keccak is for? |

for 5x290 cards, with intensity=19-20, how many RAM memory do i need?
of course SMOS system,
2GB of RAM or more than that?
