I don' know enough about Mastercoin to how how this will work. Does the "issuer" (e.g., Realcoin, Inc/Ltd/???) have the ability to censor transactions, and/or reverse transactions?
If realcoins is issued using mastercoin smart property, the issuer can't censor or reverse a valid transaction.

Nice. MasterCore is forked from Bitcoin Core. It should be easier now for other exchanges to add MSC.

Also pointing out that you burn mastercoin when you trade a smart property for a smart property. Does that mean you constantly need mastercoin to trade anything? A distributed exchange is to me like creating a free market. With the fee you always bring it back to mastercoin. It almost hinders the person wanting to trade just that one smart property. Adding a extra step. If I misunderstood that blog post then disregard the last part of this post.
Instead of burning, There is a proposal to charge a fee only if the offer is filled. Ex. Alice offers 10 xcoins for 20 ycoin. It is not filled, no fee is charged. Bob offers 20 ycoins for 10 x coins. It is filled, Bob is charged a fee ex. 1 msc and it is given to Alice. This is to encourage filling up the meta dex order book.

Comparing Dex and Meta Dex
In Dex You can only post a sell order (if no one is selling, you can't post a buy order) Wait for the confirmation Wait for a buyer Send your buy request to a seller (if you want to buy from multiple seller, you have to send one request to each seller) Wait for the confirmation Send payment Wait for confirmation Order is executed.
In meta Dex You can post a buy or a sell order.
send your buy offer Wait for confirmation Order is executed.
it will automatically look for the lowest price and can partially or fully fill your order from multiple sellers. Unfullfiled buy orders are placed in a queue. To match it with future sell offers.
Send your sell offer Wait for confirmation Order is executed it will automatically get the highest price and partially or fully fill your order from multiple buyers. Unfullfiled sell orders are placed in a queue. To match it with future buy offers.
In effect meta Dex works like the typical btc exchange (ex. btc-e.com). But instead of btc it will use initially MSC.

Um, looking at the upcoming crowdsales- some look good, but projects like "Genercoin" are not very inspiring- what with the lack of text formatting and the 'breaking bad' layout for their video. Ouch.
The other projects look better, but it begs the question- isn't crowdfunding with mastercoin itself a bit dangerous for a startup if the market is so thin? The whole point is to get money they can spend right now to fund development. But if you're funding development with an illiquid asset (which to be fair may be worth a a ginormous sum of money one day) and it's not worth much TODAY, aren't you kind of shooting yourself in the foot? Don't you really just need Bitcoin?
The next crowd sale will give the issuer a choice either bitcoin or mastercoin. All will probably choose bitcoin. this is the best way to move the mastercoin protocol forward. https://github.com/mastercoin-MSC/spec/pull/185Btw Crazy_rabbit, do you plan to list your cool project with mp?

A minimum purchase valued at 3 BTC is requested. oh really ?
I don't think they can enforce that. (Crowd sale will allow any btc or msc amount.)

Thanks dexx. There are already 2 x Genercoin (# 6 and #7) registered as a fixed token property, not as crowd sale. http://www.genercoin.orgThis will probably use the latest crowd funding version that allows both btc and msc. Edit If this is the same genercoin in the upcoming crowd funding http://www.genercoin.org/#!genercoin/c1g22 0.09 / Gener Coin @660 usd / btc = 7333 Gener coins per btc. @ 0.02 btc / msc = 147 Gener coins per msc

info. :-) As someone else mentioned- in 2011 bitcoin was the horse in town. You either rode or you didn't ride at all. Times are a bit different now. There is a lot of talent that is risked being siphoned into other projects.
Mastercoin was the first horse out the gate (bitcoin 2 race). But other horses have caught up and gaining But it's still a long way to go.

We're working on improving Omniwallet, we have a cross-platform wallet proof-of-concept, and we have a dozen major projects releasing MSC tokens over the coming months (I heard David Johnston say he'll post the list soon). Our next major MSC feature will be distributed exchange between MSC and these tokens, which will have a double-sided order book and an inherently better user experience than BTC/MSC distributed exchange.
+1 on listing OF upcoming major projects releasing MSC Tokens. metadex order matching looks very exiting. Looking forward to see it work in omni wallet and master wallet.

And idea I was thinking about was to sell some portion of the company (or coupons exchangeable for company shares) probably 10-20%, via the Mastercoin Protocol a-la MaidSafe. The money I would raise, I would then put into building the company.
maybe like with Kickstarter, as a 'reward' for buying x amount of shares you can get one of these cool little dongle things glad I didn't preorder a trezor! +1. Use mastercoin fundraiser to create your own coin. Then price your device per your coin. Users have to send you the coins to get your cool device.

http://www.coindesk.com/overstock-ceo-delivers-historically-charged-keynote-bitcoin-2014/Staying true to his style, during the question and answer round today Byrne revealed that he had plans for potentially listing his company on “a block chain kind of a stock exchange.”
Watching his words, he said: “I would already be interested in issuing a bond or something, so we could be the first to list this sort of security.”
He revealed that Overstock was in the early stages of looking at the legal propriety of dual listing on NASDAQ and another stock exchange. While they have not ironed out any concrete plans, he said:
Interesting. Mastercoin perhaps
