21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't get 5GPU with Asus Prime z270-p on: January 16, 2018, 04:16:13 PM
Every GPU testing one by one are working?
-What drivers are you using?
-PCI Gen1 to all 3 points?
-Power supply?
I had the version H270 from asus and no problem with 5 or 6 cards.

-Tested individually, they all work
-Risers/cables tested

I had all 3 options set to GEN1, switched them to GEN2, switched them back to GEN1 and now it's working with 6 gpus....

Wow... What an annoying problem
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can't get 5GPU with Asus Prime z270-p (FIXED) on: January 16, 2018, 03:34:19 PM
Hello !

I actually have a asus prime z270-p and I'm not able to make it work with 5 or + gpus.
When I connect the fifth card, I see the Mobo logo but screen stays black after.
I'm running on w10, this is my third asus prime z270-p and I didnt had any issues with the two others.

The bios is updated to the latest version
-4G enabled
-Pci speed set to GEN 1 (tried with GEN2 but doesnt work)
-Hd audio controller is turn off
-Fast boot disabled

Also, When i disconect the fifth card and reboot, w10 is showing correctly and the drivers are working

My monitor is connected via the hdmi of the mobo.

Thank you!

EDIT: I've tried different pcie port and it doesnt make a difference, I can get 4 gpus working with any pcie port order used.

You need to use Claymore v10.3 with the AMD Adrenaline drivers. I get about 29.8 MH/s 895 MH/s DCR with ~105 W VGA power only with a modified Polaris Bios Editor v1.62 'one click timing patch' strap. The only change I made was to copy the PBE bundled strap to the 1625 and 1500 MHz straps on the second set of timings as well. The overclock settings I use in Claymore are:

Code:
-ethi 8
-dcri 30
-cclock 1200
-mclock 2050
-powlim -15
-cvddc 900
-mvddc 900

Awesome Infos Vann!
Thank you a lot!

Just a question, with the blockchain drivers, do you do the updates or you leave it as orginal ?

I use this drivers :
Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for [Suspicious link removed]pute Release Notes
Here :
http: /support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-pute-Release-Notes.aspx

Your link is broken, but I guess you are talking about these:
Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for [Suspicious link removed]pute Driver Version 17.30.1029 (Windows Driver Store Version 22.19.659.0)
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU optimization process - Sapphire Pulse RX580 4GB - 11265-09-20G on: January 11, 2018, 06:20:34 PM
Thanks for the reply and the tips!

1) Use custom strap for bios modding.
2) Use blockchain drivers.
3) Undervolt clock voltage to 850/875 and leave memory voltage untouched.
The above will get you 29 MH/s with 700W total power consumption.

1) Where do you find these Custom Bios Strap ? Any good source you suggest me to use? I've been searching quick on google and didn't find it. Are people crafting them by their own?
2) What is the version number of the drivers? Do you do updates when installed?
3) Do you underclock the clock voltage and leave the MHz at 1200?

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU optimization process - Sapphire Pulse RX580 4GB - 11265-09-20G on: January 11, 2018, 06:04:49 PM
Hi Everyone!

I just bought a big bunch of gpus of the same model, lucky me they all have the same memory brand (Elpida).
I'll share with you my optimization process of the bios and OC settings, my way to work, etc...
My goal here is to get peoples tips to optimize further and also help people in the futur who would want help with this model of GPU.
I might also post the same process for other model of GPU later on.

GPU model: Sapphire Pulse RX580 4GB
SKU: 11265-09-20G

Rig set-up
OS: W10 Pro Version 1607
Motherboard: Asus Prime Z270-A
GPU#: 7 Gpus
RAM: 4GB
PSU: 2x 750W Gold

Tools i'm using:
AtiFlash
OverdriveNTool
PolarisBiosEditor
HwInfo

My goal with these gpu is to hit a STABLE hashrate of 28.4MH/s ETH minimum + maximum Mh/s DCR with a power drawing as low as possible.
I want to create a global rom and OC settings I can apply on all gpu without tweaking them individually for the moment.

----------

First settings for RX580 Pulse Sapphire 4GB ELPIDA:
AMD Driver Version: 17.12.2 (Blockchain)
Miner Version: Claymore 10.2
Eth Mining only

Miner settings related to OC:
-Ethi 8

BIOS modifications:
Put the 1500 time strap into the higher one without touching anything else in the bios, Flashed the gpu with it.

OC settings:

Core Clock
P0: 300 MHz - 750 mV
P1: 600 MHz - 769 mV
P2: 900 MHz - 887 mV
P3: 1145 MHz - 975 mV
P4: 1200 MHz - 975 mV
P5: 1200 MHz - 975 mV
P6: 1200 MHz - 975 mV
P7: 1200 MHz - 975 mV

GPU Clock:
P0: 300 MHz - 750 mV
P1: 1000 MHz - 825 mV
P2: 1980 MHz - 975 mV

Fan:
Minimum (rpm): 1500
Maximum (rpm): 3500
Target Temp. (*C): 45
Acoustic Limit (MHz): 4000

Power:
Max. Temp. (*C): 84
Power Target (%): 25

Results:
95% of the gpus handle these settings correctly without any crash, BUT some of them need a reduced Memory (P2) from 1980 MHz to 1940 MHz or they crash at the dag creation. (I'm not using -lidag)
Power Drawing: +/- 1140W (Still too high)
Average hashrate: 29.4 Mh/s

Issues: Some cards are throttling to +/- 26 mh/s and get back to 29.4mh/s at the next stats refresh.

Errors I'm getting:
1- Can't see temperature and fan speed in Claymore even when I hit the "S" key. (Fixed by upgrading to Claymore 10.3)
2- Sometime I see an error: "Temperature Thread Hanging, need to restart miner." (Fixed by upgrading to Claymore 10.3)

----------

Second settings for RX580 Pulse Sapphire 4GB ELPIDA:
AMD Driver Version: 17.12.2 (Blockchain)
Miner Version: Claymore 10.3
Dual Mining (ETH + DCR)

Miner settings related to OC:
-Ethi 8
-Dcri 20

BIOS modifications:
Put the 1500 time strap into the higher one without touching anything else in the bios, Flashed the gpu with it.

OC settings:

Core Clock
P0: 300 MHz - 750 mV
P1: 600 MHz - 769 mV
P2: 1300 MHz - 875 mV
P3: 1300 MHz - 875 mV
P4: 1300 MHz - 875 mV
P5: 1300 MHz - 875 mV
P6: 1300 MHz - 875 mV
P7: 1300 MHz - 875 mV

GPU Clock:
P0: 300 MHz - 750 mV
P1: 1000 MHz - 825 mV
P2: 2000 MHz - 975 mV

Fan:
Minimum (rpm): 1500
Maximum (rpm): 3500
Target Temp. (*C): 55
Acoustic Limit (MHz): 4000

Power:
Max. Temp. (*C): 80
Power Target (%): -25

Results:
Power Drawing: +/- 1350W (Still too high)
Average hashrate: 29.4 Mh/s ETH + 585 Mh/s DCR

----------

I'll keep you guys updated of the process, don't be shy to give any constructive comments.
Cheers!

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Prime Z270-A Error - No image with 2+ GPU on: January 08, 2018, 04:45:38 PM
Hi Everyone!

I have an error with my Asus Prime Z270-a, it's the first time i encounter this problem, all my other rigs have been fine.
I connect one gpu via riser to the first pcie16x and my monitor is on the onboard hdmi port. I'm able to install windows, install the drivers for Rx580. I reboot the rig, everything is fine.
When I connect a second GPU via riser, I'm not able to get image via the onboard port. I see the mobo boot screen logo, but after that, my monitor go to sleep mode and nothing happens.
If I disconect the second gpu and only run with one gpu for booting, the image come back on my monitor and the amd drivers are still there and working correctly.

The things i've changed in the mobo bios are:
Primary Display: IGFX
IGPU Multi-Monitor: Disabled
Pcie speed: Auto
Hd Audio Controller: Disabled
Fast Boot: Enabled
4G: Enabled

GPU Bios are stocks

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this issue ?
Thank you!

Do you see an image via any of your external GPU?

Yes I have an image from gpu 0 via hdmi, how could I switch the image back to the onboard port ?
Thank you!

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: W10 problems - OS taking 55gb after fresh install on: January 05, 2018, 08:53:57 PM
I'm running Windows 10 Pro v1709 and it's taking 50GB> of the system drive and that is with 20GB virtrual memory and 4.5GB reserved for restore points. You can try running ccleaner to cleanup old temp and windows error reporting files. Also delete old restore points and old driver setup files. If you did an update of the existing installation instead of a clean install, your old Windows installation will be in a Windows.old folder on the system drive. You can delete that folder to save space as well.

Thank you for the help. I've tried to delete windows.old but it creates a lot of issues with the W10 after.
Also, Do you do the updates after a fresh install or you block windows update ?

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone knows how to reduce the size of a fresh install of W10 ?
Because currently a fresh install takes me 55GB on my ssd.

Thank you

I've switched the default monitor to onboard in the mobo BIOS and now the hdmi port is working on the mobo and I dont plug my monitor in the GPU anymore.

But again, when I power off the rig and reboot it without monitor, I get the same error as before: GPU0 not mining
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore mining problem - 50$ BTC reward on: December 24, 2017, 05:49:30 PM
Use vídeo onboard and leave gpu's free to mine.

I plug my hdmi in the HDMI port of my Asus Prime Z270-a but nothing happens...
Need the intel drivers or something ? Celeron G3930
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore mining problem - 50$ BTC reward on: December 24, 2017, 05:38:13 PM
When I switch the monitor to another gpu, all works, but as soon as I unplug the montior, the last gpu used by the monitor stops mining
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore mining problem - 50$ BTC reward on: December 24, 2017, 05:30:34 PM

In the bios switch primary display to “integrated graphics” run by the cpu/mobo. Then see whats going on with it.

Not working

[/quote]

Buy a cheap monitor off of craigslist and leave it plugged in?
[/quote]

Not an option
connect the monitor cable another gpu, uninstall the drivers with DDU, make sure the gpu to be connected to the monitor is connected to pci-16x motherboard, end install the drivers blockchan August 23, and restart.

Already did, not working :/
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Claymore mining problem - 50$ BTC reward on: December 24, 2017, 05:06:39 PM
Hi there!

I have a rig of 7x580, Everything was mining fine even after reboots untill I've shutted it down, removed the monitor cable and booted it...
Now the problem is: The gpu which had the monitor pluged in, is either not mining at all or hanging in claymore after a couple seconds.

As soon as I unplug the monitor, the GPU# stop mining, as soon as I replug it the GPU start mining...

The rig has been mining for 24h with a monitor, but GPU#0 is not able to mine without a monitor, or it's a 1-2mh/s

Thanks!
