21  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Marketing Bitcoin on: June 25, 2013, 11:59:12 PM
Hi Katrina,
If you wanted a very targeted marketing campaign to start off with:

There is a very nice Wordpress Bitcoin plugin here:
http://jonls.dk/2013/03/trying-out-bitcoin-wordpress-plugin/

Being able to collect bitcoin on your Wordpress blog to pay for Wordpress services seems useful.
It also gets the Bitcoin message out there quite subtlely.

Marketing that single capability would be a good one to focus your marketing skills on before moving on to bigger campaigns.

This is exactly what I will be releasing shortly through the BitMate WordPress Plugins. The first official donation plugin went live on the WordPress repository yesterday and the Bitcoin payment plugin is just being refactored and finalised now!

We will shortly be releasing a plugin that will let you accept bitcoin payments with WordPress without the need to host a third party store etc. Would love to hear from you if you'd be interested in beta testing it.

Thanks for all your early work in getting these widgets out there. We are in the process of releasing a suite of Bitcoin Plugins for WordPress and will definitely consider learnings from these earlier plugins in our best practices. Also just sent out a couple of tips Smiley

BitPay actually has a WordPress integration if you want to go that route. If you want to manage the process yourself it's a little harder however I will shortly be releasing a new WordPress plugin through BitMate that allows anyone to accept Bitcoin payments without a bitcoin merchant account such as BitPay.

I saw this talk as well considering adding some of these features to the Bitcoin plugin we released for WordPress .

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a WordPress plugin to receive bitcoin tips from your blog readers on: June 20, 2013, 04:02:26 PM
I'm currently working on a suite of WordPress solutions for Bitcoin. The first plugin was submitted to the WordPress Repo and allows every blog author to store a Bitcoin address in their profile and then it automatically generates a donation block after every post. There is also a shortcode so the plugin can be used pretty much anywhere, including pages and there is a widget on the roadmap for single site blogs, publishers and charities. Also knee deep in development of a full digital payment solution for WordPress based on Bitcoin (also currently utilising Blockchain.info). Can't believe I only just found out about this project today, I did have an extensive search before I began work and didn't find much except external scripts. Didn't plan on announcing till the first plugin was out on the repo. It would be cool to connect on Skype IM or something to chat!

Hey There,

Have been lurking on the board for a while but as I'm getting ready to launch my first Bitcoin product I figured it was time to actively get involved with the community on the boards. My first release should be over the weekend and will allow WordPress sites to accept Bitcoin payments and donations with ease.

You can check out what we are up to and get a sneak preview here:

BitMate WordPress Plugins: Easily Create Bitcoin Buy Buttons & Bitcoin Donate Buttons With WordPress

Thanks!

Thanks for pointing that out, I've updated the post. Have been working on the plugin relentlessly and have managed to get a solid base together with some pretty neat features, plus a roadmap for further development.

If anyone is interested in beta testing I'm happy to share a copy with a few BitcoinTalk members that can put it straight into use and provide some feedback. Just email me at beta (at) bitcoinbuttons.com with some details on how you plan on using the plugin i.e. donations/selling products, types of site etc.

Great tips thanks for sharing. I didn't realise LastPass was Google Authenticator enabled, might be time to switch from the 1Password!
