21  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 26, 2013, 10:32:21 PM
I am still trying to figure out why this is bad or good..   I mean I could buy like 900 shares today and earn $2 per day for the dividend...

Is the real risk that the price per share is too high???   (they are low now compared to what they IPO'ed for???

Will the Dividend go down or will more supporting shares  be purchased to keep the Div up as Diff increases??

To me the Div payout seems really good compared to most other stocks I have been researching on bitfunder???

Yes they are quite lower to the IPO now
the Dividend will go down and probably a lot! as the difficulty increases  you have to make a guess basically how much the difficulty will increase and see at what price it will be profitable to buy...
do you Math! True for any PMB out there, and decide...

On another note... it would be a good thing for PMBs in general if the issuer put a minimum duration in the contracts, as it stands there is a risk for the issuer to just pack up and leave one day....
I don't believe that's TAT's intention at all but it would be a nice insurance for the buyer...
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 23, 2013, 11:22:35 AM

I know this is a noob question, so it gets stuck in the noob board.

I mine ltc with Bitminter, and I collect shares. So my question is, as the difficulty rises, is it harder to get shares, or does it take more shares to uncover the block?
Im sorry how to you mine ltc with bitminter?
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 22, 2013, 09:44:42 PM

Given the current state of ASICMiner, what are everyone's thoughts on investing in it at the current price for alt currency mining? I have 50 BTC that I bought a long time ago and I'm looking to get something out of it.
Diversify your portfolio...
AsicMiner is good...
mining is good....
Asics are good...

till any one of them stops being good...

AM have a limited number of devices for sale

They do??? If their production capabilities are friedcat and his friends puting those thing together by hand then i guess you are right
25  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 22, 2013, 06:23:02 PM
I agree with this part:

It should be blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain that there's going to be a lot less income from hardware sales due to competition. That same competition will also decrease AM's share of the network hash rate.

However, I believe most investors have considered it too (particularly those with more than "half a brain"), and that it is priced into the share price at the moment. There's no surprise that there will be competition. But AM has enormous competitive advantages - they won't be able to sell at 50 BTC anymore, but their process (130 nm) is most likely cheaper than all competitors, giving them better profit margins on their products.

So the current monopoly-situation will eventually end, but AM has everything it takes to compete head-on with the competitors (and win) when they eventually arrive.

More compentition doesnt necesary lead to reduced hardware profits for ASICminer..
You asume that there wont be enough demand to buy every competitive product that comes out
its like you say if AM sold 1000 blades then the market is 1000 minners a pop i think the demand was much larger than what AM could cover and could absorve more mners than were actualy sold...
A competative market with lower prices and easier revenuew of buying Miners would drive the sales way up for AM too...

plus you asume that the cost of production of the second batch is the same as the first i would argue that the first batch had to cover a lot or development costs that the second one will not have thus giving a larger profit margin...

In all that i am not sure that we have reached peak profits from hardware sales yet even if there is lots of competition in the future...

Wow im really amazed with ppl whining to TAT about the bond price, it is clear to me that who ever does either didnt read the contract or didnt even come close to understanding it...
this is a bond not a share TAT has no moral obligation to keep bond price up as a president in a company would to the share holders (and even then the board of a company cant be held financialy responsible in case of failure)

i lost some on mining bonds too didnt expect this sharp decline in price but thats how it goes, the terms are very clear from the start...
27  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BTC-Trading Pass-Through Fund -- BTC-TRADING-PT on: June 17, 2013, 01:05:25 PM
Casting my "vote" that I think a split would be a good thing. It's a cool fund and would be nice for the shares to be more accessible + easier to re-invest in from other dividend sources.
I agree
28  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 16, 2013, 02:57:31 PM

So, how much are the shares really worth when they are receiving around .015 dividend each week?
I'd say at a share price where you consistently yield 25% AM is reasonably priced if not a bit undervalued. That yield still has moderately high risk priced in

i think a 25% yield is where things will settle too..
29  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bit coin difficulty by end of year, asic on: June 16, 2013, 12:29:14 PM
If the newest asics aren't worth running then no one will run them and the difficulty won't be what you predict.
Im seeing double!  Tongue
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why didn't you switch to thinking in mBTC yet? on: June 16, 2013, 12:23:11 PM
Only complete idiots can be fooled into thinking that mBTC is better than BTC. It's the same goddamn thing.

Nu-uh, millimeters are much better than meters  Angry

31  Local / Αγορά / Re: πωλούνται δύο ASICMINER USB ERUPTER MINER on: June 10, 2013, 01:55:58 PM

32  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] PAJKA.BOND - 100% PPS 3Mhash mining bond - with free ASIC upgrade on: June 09, 2013, 09:44:07 PM

And TradeFortress, your bet is akin to saying "I bet you 100 BTC that the sky will be blue tomorrow."  Yes, obviously your CD offers a better rate of return, I think that goes without saying.  Some of us just like to stick with well-established bonds because we're trading for the experience, not for serious gain.

It is a bit of a silly bet the only way for him to loose the bet is for himself to go Bankrupt ...but then again if that happens he wont be able to pay the bet anyway Tongue
33  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 09, 2013, 02:48:50 PM
Well people probably had too much invested into BTC and AM so ther are panic selling parts of their holdings as BTC was falling rapidly today
Yes that why i dont put any more than i can loose in these things ..Seen enough of these panic sales not to panic anymore...
34  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 09, 2013, 02:37:59 PM
100 shares on BF for 2.3?  Are people crazy?  wtf?

Look at all the stocks and most have only taken a 10% hit tops, but AM is where most people have their money that they wanna get out so it's taken the largest undeserved hit.
bought all i could.. price on the rise now again...

36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 09, 2013, 01:27:25 PM
The only thing good that I see about the alt coins is that they are easier to get nowadays that bitcoins. Less people mining, so more possible profit in the future for the ones that do it.
alt coins is the only way to mine with GPU from now on...
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big crash again, are we going under 100? on: June 09, 2013, 01:13:30 PM
yeah it was just an unsustainable price with a small group of people mining a significant amount of coins. not enough new interest. i mean asicminer is pulling in how many btc a month?...if he was selling all, it would cripple the price...and there has got to be a few new less responsible companies with asics coming online right now...someones going to sell sell sell sell whoever does first (or just has) will make the $$

yeah I'm talking short term. chances are there will be an event like cyprus sometime within the next year which will show an overall increase in interest and price....but who knows.

who knows!!!

Yeah it was coming as those miners with asic have to cover expences too, if they dont find a way to distribute their bitcoin to a broader base then....

When I paid out the TAT.AM dividend it partially failed. It looks like some people were paid, but not others.

I hope this doesn't mean that people who got paid, and bought more with the money will get more dividends...

I did not receive my dividend, please let me know what, if anything, I need to do to rectify.
Same here...
