21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 17, 2013, 09:01:23 PM
Hey everyone. I have a bit of an issue going on here. I just started mining AmericaCoins or wth they are called at the Americancoin mining pool a little over 24 hours ago. I have yet to see one block paid out to me. At first I thought the confirmations where just really slow, but now I know that we are confirming blocks that I should be getting paid shares from and I'm not getting anything. Still showing everything as pending, not verified. Anyone else having this problem with Americancoin mining pool or other Americancoin pools?

If they are ripping me off I will just join a different pool.

Auto payout is broken.

Manual pay out works.

Seriously, I am really concerned about this AMC Pool... no body has any info or experience?

OK I have figured it out, hopefully the devs will see this and fix it....
The auto pay out feature is broken.

My manual payment worked perfectly!!!!

Thanks love this pool actually really didn't want to change pools.

I added my btce address on btcguild and set auto payment, but the coin went somewhere not my account Sad(

Did you check the address? Did you check the block for the transaction?

I can't really post about this anywhere else so I am going to put it here. I have been sitting on just under 1 AMC for 2 days with no pay out from pool.amccoin.com even though my auto-payout is set to .1

I tried to take a screen shot but was unsuccessful. I am just hoping someone will see this post and respond with some info. I am not a very happy miner right now.

Stolen not from a wallet but... I mined 5-6 litecoin that I never got out of notroll.in ... =p

I would consider that stolen.

I entered your lottery too, but didnt win anything from the ticket. Thank you for putting it in your [Suspicious link removed] rotator. Maybe if I enter it more often I will win. Was hoping for better odds since its so new ;-) Everything looks great guys! I really like the idea of getting to pick a random ticket yourself. I also like that you list the player's stats too. Very nice job guys!

Damn - well I guess the moral of the story is to get your coins from the mining site as fast as you can into your local wallet - sry you lost your coin...

That is a very good point. I never really thought it would be a big deal to let them sit somewhere but that is where I hear of most people losing their coins.

Thanks for this thread. It's good that someone is trying to report the scammers. Even if they aren't scamming much, they are stealing from someone. I wanted to also share this chat faucet I just stumbled across. The other chat faucet that I have looked at are all closed but this one is fully functioning!! I think they also have some game rooms too but I haven't checked them out yet.

I am now used to coinotron being offline all the time

It was down for me yesterday too, but I got my payouts. So this is a normal thing for them to go down regularly? I suppose it's fine as long as shares are still able to be accepted and paid out.

It's true that there's a huge saturation of alt coins in the market now, which is devaluting a lot of them.  It's hard to say which coins will gain in value in the future; sometimes you never know.
what is a alt coin are they like lite coins and such?

Some people consider anything other than BTC an alt coin. Others only consider secondary coins (coins that can't be mined directly) as secondary coins. Another definition is on the Exchange sites. Some classify certain VC as primary market, secondary market, etc. down to "trash" and "scam" coins.

Could you please elaborate on WDC? Is it considerably different from LTC and BTC?

No, WDC is not any different.

I just finally got some of my credit. I will stay with this pool for now, thanks!

Is anyone actually keeping track of all the ALT coins around?

It would be interesting to see a full list and some stats.

(But also a lot of work to create and maintain)

I have found this site useful, but it is only keeping track of a few:

dustcoin.com/mining

I have been keeping a short list myself. I have down about 15 or so:

BQC - BBQcoin
BTC - Bitcoin
CNC - CHNcoin
CLC - CopperLarkcoin
DGC - Digitalcoin
DVC - Devcoin
FRC - Friecoin
FTC - Feathercoin
LTC - Litecoin
MMC - Memecoin
NMC - Namecoin
NVC - Novacoin
PPC - PPcoin or Peercoin
PXC - Phenixcoin (yes, spelled wrong)
SXC - Sexcoin
TRC - Terracoin
WDC - Worldcoin

I do not have all of these types of Alt-coins, these are just the ones I've heard of. I'm sure there are more.

EDIT: Found a topic here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134179.0

So what do you guys think about the newly released CopperLark alt-coin ? Looks kinda promising compared to all the other ones..
Had not heard of it until you, thanks I will look into them!

Found on another post:

There are no rootkits, but a few of another problems exists:

    2 million premined coins in block #1;
retarget algorithm is vulnerable to diff slowdown, diff resonance and diff oscillation.

Anyone join this pool Silverwolf's WDC Pool [BETA] for World Coins?  I just joined today.

http://silverwolf.ath.cx/wdc/index

I was actually going to mention WorldCoins because I think that of all Alt-coins, this seems like one that would be accepted widely and gain traction. I do like the the LTC and have actively been collecting both them and NMC to trade for BTC while the value for BTC is still decent. Thanks for the advice on scammers guys and gals. I am still newb and don't know all the ins and outs. Hopefully I will be a rich vet one day...
Already would be if I had kept mining BTC 3 yrs ago...whoops lol.
