21  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will religion save you? on: September 28, 2019, 05:46:34 AM
No, I don’t believe religion will save anyone. Does that mean I don’t believe in God? Far from it. Religion is just the way used to describe how someone believes in God. There are literally thousands of religions. It is not the religion that saves but God decides who will be saved.

Being a Christian, and saying you are a Christian, are two different things. Many who claim to be Christian are exposed as false Christians by the way they live their lives. Going to Church does not make you a Christian any more than standing in you garage makes you an automobile.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin any Marketplaces for Trading? on: September 27, 2019, 09:47:08 AM
Analyst Kevin Rooke posted his findings earlier today on how expensive it is to conduct a 51% attack for one hour. What he found was that such an attack would cost almost $800,000 on Bitcoin and around $100,000 on Ethereum. Dogecoin comes a distant third, closely trailed by Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and ZCash.

It seems that Dogecoin has carved a definite name for itself in the cryptocurrency industry and its meme-status has not made it any less of a fixture in the market. Generally speaking, Dogecoin has led altcoin rallies across the board. This is why the asset is so often used as an indicator for non-Bitcoin cryptocurrency market trends.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: September 27, 2019, 09:43:49 AM
When it comes to cryptocurrency launches, few have seen as much hype as Tezos. According to the project’s website, Tezos is “a decentralized blockchain that governs itself by establishing a true digital commonwealth and facilitates formal verification, a technique which mathematically proves the correctness of the code governing transactions and boosts the security of the most sensitive or financial weighted smart contracts.”

In practice, this means that Tezos is a blockchain network which is linked to a digital token, called a Tez or a Tezzie (XTZ). Unlike other digital currencies, Tezos does not involve the mining of Tez tokens; rather, token holders receive a reward for taking part in the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.

However, despite a promising start and one of the largest ICOs to date, Tezos has encountered numerous delays, some of which have resulted in legal trouble.

Bitcoin’s price briefly slipped below $8,000 on Thursday for the first time in three months, though the cryptocurrency is still more than double its level at the start of 2019.

What do these bold – and volatile – moves mean for the ecosystem?

David Nage, principal at the Los Angeles-based money manager Arca Funds, discusses his views on this week’s price drop and whether price volatility in cryptocurrencies might turn off big investors.

And while the next halving – a periodic reduction in bitcoin mining rewards, expected to occur around May 15, 2020 – is potentially bullish, both the technical and fundamental views point toward uncertain times ahead for BTC’s direction after its recent sell-off threw into question the long-term trend.

Soravis Srinawakoon, co-founder and CEO of decentralized data governance project Band Protocol, said:
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are IEO's bad? on: September 27, 2019, 09:30:25 AM
An Initial Exchange Offering, as its name suggests, is conducted on the platform of a cryptocurrency exchange. Contrary to Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), an IEO is administered by a crypto exchange on behalf of the startup that seeks to raise funds with its newly issued tokens

An IEO is still technically a form of ICO, but the main difference lies in where the coin or token is offered. As you might be able to guess from its name, an IEO offers tokens through a partnering exchange, rather than directly to investors
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] TecraCoin (TCR) | PoW/PoSe - Hi-Tech Patented Technologies on: September 27, 2019, 08:29:03 AM

SINOVATE(SIN) is an open source peer to peer digital ecosystem which creates unique and innovative blockchain products

A cryptocurrency is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses strong cryptography to secure financial transactions, control the creation of additional units, and verify the transfer of assets

However Nearly all top 10 alternative cryptocurrencies by Market Capitalization have hit their respective 6-month lows after bitcoin’s rapid price slide dragged the rest of the markets into the red on Tuesday.

Litecoin (LTC), EOS (EOS), Binance Coin (BNB), and Stellar (XLM) dropped to their lowest point in over 6-months shortly after BTC’s major sell-off forced traders to exit the market in quick succession
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GameCoin (GME) - Current version = v0.8.4.2 on: September 27, 2019, 06:57:32 AM
GameCoin (GME) is a cryptocurrency built on the premise of quick confirmation times and low transaction fees. It is purpose-built for the sports and gaming industries. From ticket sales to in-game purchases. Gamecoin is a community supported coin ready to play.
'
GameCoin is one of the first cryptocurrencies ever created and has a provable ledger dating back nearly 6 years. The Lindy Effect suggests that Gamecoin will be around much longer than all those centralized ICOs currently being churned out.

GameCoin keeps a record of every transaction in its blockchain, which is near impossible to alter because of the way it is secured through miners and a high hashrate. Essentially, the ledger GameCoin creates cannot be altered.

GameCoin is putting significant resources into R&D. The Developers brought the coin back to life to use as a testbed for a new consensus mechanism called Proof of Participation (PoP) which promises to bring sustainability to the cryptocurrency industry.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: September 27, 2019, 06:55:58 AM
Monero (XMR) is a distributed ledger project touted as one of the world’s leading privacy-centric coins. The Monero project has carved out a deep niche in its respective community by placing heavy emphasis around being private, electronic cash. While the system itself utilizes the same UTXO structure as Bitcoin, it’s design shifts in the way these UTXO’s are packaged and broadcast to the network, utilizing one-time ring signature architecture, effectively creating an unlinkable transaction where an on looking third party cannot identify the output.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 27, 2019, 06:53:27 AM
These currencies represent things that are solely attempting to be money. A store-of-value, unit of account, and medium of exchange. The most simple and pure form of units formed by a blockchain. Bitcoin has added purity because how it came to be: organically discovered and adopted as a means of exchange over time, unlike projects that have a “team” behind them.
Many people are skeptical about the power of the blockchain, and what it’s applications can really . However, there are very few people left that doubt that blockchains can, at least, create and transfer value (money) between eachother.
