Is there an API for devs to add announcements?

For instance, a website is updated with new info or files for download.  Is there an API available for posting this info to announce the update?

Orphans are a direct result of competition on the blockchain. Back about May 12 difficulty started hitting new all-time highs about the same time as we see that orphans began to rise. That orphan production seems to be dropping while difficulty remains somewhat elevated is evidence that the competitive groupings are sorting themselves out...

I have been out on a sabbatical for a while due to some issues in my life, but just wanted to point out that a lot of the questions I see here for the last while are answered at beancash.guru.

I have created a headless Linux BeanCash wallet on a VPS server.
The wallet is now on the right block.
Does anyone know the command line to unlock the wallet only for staking.

walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout>  [stakingonly]

e.g.
walletpassphrase myingeniouspassword 99999999999 true

Guys, I've a serious suggestion for BitBean. The sprouting difficulty needs to get increased, and I think it can be done in an upgrade or something. Right now, a lot of whales are simply sprouting massive amounts of bitbean and if they continue doing that so, the price will never reach the level we're imagining. Sprouting needs to get more difficult!

Sprouting difficulty is calibrated and adjusts to keep the network producing one block per minute.  The answer to increasing difficulty is to encourage those who are holding and not sprouting to begin sprouting.  Less than half the total Bean supply is actively involved in sprouting!  Anyone can check this statistic here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bitb/#!extraction

The #BUYTHEDIP Bean Cash dip meme contest is over.  There were some really excellent submissions.  I had a hard time deciding between them. So here is what happened:

I paid 5000 Bean for each image that was submitted.

I awarded first prize to 3 individuals for technically perfect images that epitomize Bean Cash dip:
@cabana
@gr0schat0n
@mrpoblin

I awarded second prize for an excellent image to:
@dankcryptolord

I awarded third prize for the "Route Sprout" image to:
@cabana
*While this image is flawless and will be useful in encouraging us to all hold the line, I didn't feel that I could award 2 first prizes to the same individual. However, it should be noted that this image placed ahead of other images in the contest.

**The copyright of the submitted images will be held under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license by Whitebeard's Cottage.  The winners will be displayed there as soon as I get final permissions from PepsiCo for the use of their Bean Dip can image.  If the artists would like to have their individual contact information attached to the images in case anyone would like to contact them regarding their work, that can be arranged.  Contact me by DM at https://slackkiller.bitbean.org

Hey, meme-makers,
I find myself in search of the perfect "buy the dip" meme specific to Bean Cash, so I am proposing a contest.
I will pay first, second, and third prizes of 30,000 Beans, 20,000 Beans, and 10,000 Beans, respectively.
My idea is a can of Fritos brand bean dip altered to be a Bean cash can of dip. (I will provide a sample image below.)
Some ideas:
-Replace "Fritos Brand"  with "Frijol efectivo" (that's a transliteration of Bean Cash in spanish)
-Replace "with jalapeno peppers" with "with great prices" (or something to that effect)
-Replace the jalapeno peppers with bean man (either version) or the sprout logo.
-Keep the "smart choices" logo...
Minimum image size 500x500px  (the bigger the better)
Submissions must be sent to me via direct message at https://slackkiller.bitbean.org.   And by sending me any image you agree to release all rights to said image to me.  Any submissions posted in this channel or any non-private channel are automatically disqualified, as such postings immediately become part of the public domain.
I will be the final judge of all submissions.
Of course, if you feel you have a better idea, feel free to submit it.
Get those creative juices flowing!

my thougts here is that this is abbandoned project by the dev team. sprouting is good. but what make this coin worst is the dev team. they created this for their own benefits. this coin will rise up if hopefully new team will take charge. this coin is already left over by many of the altcoins. that's why the price in satoshi is dropping continuesly. this is not totally a shot coin. but shit developer team.

FUD

Hey guys sorry to be off topic and FOMOing or FUDing, but I just reinstalled bitbean on a pc that will be on more or less 24 hours a day 7 days a week for staking. I just need to know where I should put my keys on the new pc so I dont have to send it to a new wallet?

AppData\Roaming\BitBean (or BeanCash now)

So now it has changed its name to BeanCash, I look for it also a bit difficult because it should be named bitbean from the beginning, now I have understood, thanks for the information.

Bitbean needs to keep its original name. BeanCash just sounds cheesy.

The name has changed, because a company called '1 on 1 Development', decided they wanted the name 'bitbean' for themselves and trademarked it. Rather than fight them in court, the board proposed to rename the token to something that would be a more common name. The community generally agreed.

There is no wallet version 4.8.6.  Where did you get this wallet?
The latest version is 1.1.2.2RC

I have another matter! I want to receive bins for keeping them in my wallet ... but only in the description it is written that coins should appear in 6 hours ... but after 6 hours nothing happened ... and is still written in 24 hours that the reward will be in 40 days.

The documentation about 6 hours means that 6 hours after transfer into a sprouting wallet the beans can begin to compete for sprouting
The 40 days is the estimate of how long it should take to sprout with the amount of coins you currently have in your wallet.  It is not a timer...

I waited on next.exchange to reply to their dev channel, but have heard nothing.

Yesterday I submitted Bean Cash via their regular channel.

Please go to https://nextexchange.featureupvote.com/?order=new&filter=all&q=#controls and upvote Bean Cash to be added to the exchange.

Right now we are at the top of the list but it may change so you may have to scroll down the page.

---EDIT---

The status is showing "awaiting approval."  Some community members are saying they can't see it yet.  I will keep an eye on it and inform everyone as soon as I see a change.

Yup! We're still alive, just busy...  I have contacted Cryptopia via their developers email address over a week ago and have not heard from them.

I understand that they are busy given the recent increase in crypto traffic on all exchanges, so hopefully that is the only issue here.  If they have issues with our wallet, we will gladly help them.

I have added a Bean FAQ and Tutorial page to my personal website.

How many coin required for staking? can I buy BITB from coin exchange?

I get coins from Bittrex and Cryptopia.  I don't think there is a minimum requirement for staking, but if you have less than 100K you won't see much action.  I think with 500K BITB you should get around 700 BITB per day.  1M gets around 1600 per day.  It doesn't scale exactly and then there's coin grouping to factor in.

The actual minimum is 1000 beans in a single block, but as you point out, given current difficulty, sprouting will be rare from small quantities.
http://sproutingcalculator.com/ will give you an idea of how many you need to sprout regularly.  Just try playing with the numbers.

Hi Dev, Can I go ahead to buy Bitbean or wait for Bittrex to change the name to beancash before I buy? I do not want to buy now and later discovered I bought a wrong coin because of the rebranding. Please respond asap

You do NOT need to wait.  The protocol is not changed between releases.  You can buy them as Bitbean on Bittrex and transfer them to your BeanCash wallet without any problem.  I do it all the time.

Is it a new version of wallet and a mandatory update?
Bean Cash Windows 64-Bit
Version 1.1.2.2RC

Yes.

The correct answer to this is,"No."
The protocol did not change between these versions.  This release included the rebrand and some software improvements.
The old wallet still works perfectly fine if you don't mind still seeing you Beans with the label "Bitbean".

Hello together. I need help. I'm new to bitbeans. My wallet don't start stacking. It say that I don't have matured coins. But my wallet is open a week now. I have 5 beans. I want to test it before I invest. What I have to do to start stacking???

My wallet is open and unlocked

The minimum to sprout is 1000 beans in a single block.  At current difficulty, though, the likelihood of getting a sprout with only 1000 beans is extremely low.

Check http://sproutingcalculator.com/ to see how much you will need for your tests in the time period plan to test the system.

Remember one sprout is 1000 beans.  The calculator shows projected averages in the next 30 days, so if your test period is going to be 30 days, you need an amount the will produce 1000 beans in that time period (25000 beans at the time of this writing) to see a single sprout.
