Proven honeypot websites – BEWARE!

Crystalblockchain.com Bitcoin block explorer  |  proof
Walletexplorer.com  |  proof
CipherTrace.com Bitcoin block explorer  |  proof

Contested claims
Very useful information. I must appreciate your work. but these 3 websites are not only honeypot websites. there are so many more. it is a lot of work to collect all of them with proof so I hope you slowly update the thread.

I used to visit Walletexplorer a lot in old days. but thankfully not using them now. and after reading this post. I would never do that in future.. Privacy is important in Crypto world.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Believe, "Passive Investors Make More Than Active Investors?" on: February 06, 2024, 05:26:39 AM
I've been watching many YouTube videos on how to make lots of money through day trading.
Those videos are quite impressive and compelling.

However, I've read what Warren Buffet (an American businessman and philanthropist, widely considered the most successful investor of the 20th century) thinks about short-term investing, which is quite negative.
By the way, he also thinks BTC has no intrinsic value and cryptocurrency is just gambling.

https://www.investors.com/news/warren-buffett-bashes-bitcoin-as-gambling-token-bitcoin-price-hovers-near-30000/#:~:text=%22Something%20like%20bitcoin%2C%20it%20is,intrinsic%20value%2C%22%20Buffett%20said.

Warren Buffet is a boomer after all. I don't think how he became successful would work at this time now.. or it might work but it's gonna take decades like how he did.
so if you want some quick success then go with passive investment. or if you have enough patience then go with Active investments.
Both have their risks so be careful about that.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: February 05, 2024, 12:40:59 PM
Nayib Bukele was re-elected as President of El Salvador

Presidential elections were held in El Salvador on February 4. Whereas El Salvador's Bitcoin President Nayib Bukele was declared the winner by popular vote before the electoral body announced the results.

In El Salvador's presidential election, Nayib Bukele received over 85% of the vote and won at least 58 of their 60 assembly deputies. According to CID Gallup exit poll data, 87% of people voted for Nayib Bukele.

CID Gallup

Nayib Bukele is a popular man in Salvador who first adopted Bitcoin as legal tender in his country in 2021 after it was declared legal tender.
Felix Ulloa, Vice President of Nayib Bukele, said that they will maintain Bitcoin as legal tender after the re-election of the government in El Salvador.
Details
he won by a huge margin. 87% is really a lot considering there were 2 more candidates.
This shows how much his people love him. and it also shows that he's a good leader.
And that's a goog sign for bitcoin in El Salvador as well. if someone else was elected then we wouldn't have known what could be the fate of bitcoin in the country.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 05, 2024, 12:25:24 PM
For me bitcoin means everything. Bitcoin changed my life a lot.
It is a Digital Currency that i can earn by working online and make a living with it. that all become possible because of Bitcoin. I would've been jobless if Bitcoin was not existed.
so yeah Bitcoin means a lot for me.
25  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has Porkbun stopped accepting Bitcoin payments? on: February 04, 2024, 12:30:06 PM
Yeah Looks Like Crypto Payments are only available for EVM Networks Such as Eth, Base, Polygone ETC
https://www.coinbase.com/tr/blog/coinbase-commerce-is-setting-a-new-standard-for-onchain-payments-faster

I've been using Namecheap since 2017 with Bitcoin. So far so good.  Grin

Edit: Here is a Tip that might be helpful for you: Using https://www.coinsbee.com/ You can buy a Redeem code for MyPrepaidCenter for any amount you need to spend on your domains. then you can go to https://myprepaidcenter.com/home and click redeem. it'll give you a limited-time virtual card with the balance you bought from Coinsbee. you can use that card for your domain renewals.

is there anyone can assist me about that? I would really appreciate that.

It seems you are having trouble loading the CSS files. Have you tried running a new incognito window in Chrome? Additionally, a hard refresh might help; just press Ctrl+F5 a few times.

Damn bro.   Shocked Shocked Shocked that hard refresh shit actually worked. it finally loaded properly.
I knew about hard refresh. but totally forgot this time. lol
Thanks man. huge help.

Yes. but my problem is solved. thanks anyway.

28  Economy / Economics / Re: NYCB Crashed by 45% - Yet another Bank Sunk - Bitcoin is the Ultimate Solution on: February 02, 2024, 06:20:27 PM

You can't "go bank less" with Bitcoin, because you can't buy food and pay the bills with Bitcoin. Sad but true...

Yes but for now. it is very much possible that we'll be able to buy pretty much anything with Bitcoin.
we don't need banks to buy food anyway.

A Local US Bank "New York Bancorp" 's Stock Dived into the Ocean Yesterday after the news broke up about Cutting down Dividends.
Can they recover from this disastor?

This is another proof why it is important to go Bank less which is only possible with Bitcoin

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask now supporting bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 12:41:14 PM
Metamask now supporting bitcoin or a mistake from the news? Yes there are misinformation on news sometimes.

The new integration allows users to withdraw cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin directly from a wallet like MetaMask to a Visa debit card.

The last time I used Metamask, it is only supporting altcoins and not supporting bitcoin.

I do not want to download Metamask to check this which I think is a long process than asking on this forum.
It is a bit of mixture of misinformation and misunderstanding both. You did not understand the article properly. it is talking about a Visa and a Third party dapp called Transak.
That dapp will enable users to sell BTC directly for fiat via Visa card. they'll probably use Wrapped BTC for metamask. but transak itself works with multiple other wallets so it's likely to be possible to sell actual BTC too via Visa Master Card.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 31, 2024, 12:29:54 PM
We are getting closer to possibly the greatest fight in the modern era of boxing, Fury Vs Usuk, which will unify the following belts: WBC (Fury) and WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO (Usyk). So unless the fight ends with a draw, we will see the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over 20 years.
An interesting face-off style interview popped up 3 days ago:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du94sRofifU

I like this form of interview as it allows to assess who is more confident and has a mental advantage. I think it's clear that Fury appeared to be mentally dominating, but it's hard to imagine anyone being better than him in this element.
Not only that, it will be one of the most interesting games. but that will also be very historical. as you said fury appeared to be mentally dominating. but Usyk has more belts. so it is really hard to predict anything about this game.
I am gonna try my best to watch this match live. but I am definitely going to watch the highlights if I miss that by chance.
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a crypto investor, the less app you install the better. on: January 30, 2024, 12:10:52 PM
The image below is mine, I took this screenshot because Unstoppable wallet, a open source crypto wallet is the only crypto wallet that I have on my phone that warned me about using a non default keyboard, and I have many other crypto wallets on my smartphone including metamask and trust wallet.

This shows that all these apps are sensitive to everything we do on our smartphone, I will like to advice beginners to avoid non default keyboards, as they have the potential to collect every data on your phone, the sensitive ones and the less sensitive, even the words we type through them.

This is just a reminder for this new year, if you are just starting your crypto journey avoid doing this with your phone.

Avoid using a non-default keyboard, stick with the default keyboard

Avoid taking screenshot of your wallet seed phrase, somehow this can get to the hands of the wrong ones.

Avoid unlocking your phone bootloader, all OEM security is gone after the unlock, unless you know what you are doing.

My final advice for all smartphone users is that the less apps you install on your phone the better, the less likely you are exposed to data leaking apps or malicious app, and don't use any app store to install apps, directly find their official website, that should direct you to the right apps on stores or direct download.
that's 100% true.I experienced getting hacked 2, 3 times  myself by downloading different software. but mine was in desktop versions. thankfully never had this issue from mobile which is my primary source of wallets.
after experiencing those incidents, I stopped downloading any software program in my laptop.  too afraid to download even trusted software at this point.
As a Crypto user everyone should be careful about these things because hackers are everywhere nowadays.
33  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 30, 2024, 11:43:47 AM
Bitcointalk to other Cryptocurrency forums is same as "Bitcoin" to other Altcoins "Father Figure" so Bitcointalk doesn't need to ban posting or talking about other forums. and it is not necessary either. Bitcointalk have it's place booked among bitcoin and crypto community. it cannot be replaced or overtake by any other forums.
Besides Bitcointalk is a free place with freedom of speech. everyone can talk and post about anything, promote their projects (if bitcoin and crypto related) freely without any restrictions. Bitcointalk don't even moderate scams. then why would it ban another forum?

I am a member of other popular forums and they do not allow mention of competing forums
that's a pretty dick move. but they have the right to make their own rules. who cares.
34  Other / Meta / Re: Email used to create this forum? on: January 30, 2024, 11:35:13 AM
@OP that's an unnecessary question. what do you want to do with the email of this forum? try to hack in maybe?

Does anyone know what email was used to create this forum?  BTC

Satoshi uses 3 email addresses, GMX, Anonymous Speech, and Vistomail email-address.

https://www.bitcoin.com/satoshi-archive/emails/hal-finney/1/

https://www.bitcoin.com/satoshi-archive/emails/wei-dai/1/

And if you read here: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised.

Satoshi is not the owner of this forum anymore. I don't think current administrators of the forum would still be using the same email Satoshi used to register this forum.. or maybe they do. IDK.  Huh Huh
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the minimum time or interval expected to make post ? on: January 30, 2024, 11:18:16 AM
Time interval? Is there even a rule? I don't think so. As long as one maintains quality, he or she is free to post. Well, at least I think this way, in my opinion.
You are right. there is not any specific rule about that. just be constructive and don't spam in the forum and you should be alright

As for me, when I'm posting something, I don't look at the time or anything. I just focus on my writing. What should I write or not!? I don't care if there are 5 minute or 5 hour gaps.
that's exactly what everyone should do. checking time and burst posting don't make any sense.  I don't think anyone would have to do that anyway. unless those signature campaign participants who keep their posts and do them at last day. these are the only people who do burst posting.

Only a campaign manager can answer your question about time intervals. What they truly check, what they expects from the participants.
Campaign managers just want you to spread your posts throughout the week. I don't know if anyone have specific rules about time between each posts.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rate at which p2p merchant are frauding people are high - always be vigillant on: January 30, 2024, 11:08:19 AM
Yes, yesterday I almost fell for a P2P scam. Mine was the regular way these merchants always try to set people up. I had placed an order, and he approved that he had sent the amount to my account, but he did not. I told him he insisted I release it because he had sent it and I would see it in less than 5 minutes. I knew he wanted to scam me, so I left him and slept off. He then knew I wasn't going to fall for his trap and sent the money after so many hours.

But waking up this morning, a friend of mine had similar issues, but this time the scammer came with a little twist. My friend told me he had placed an order for $70 since he needed some funds. As he wanted to click the sell button, the price changed, and he refreshed it again. So he bothered not to check again and procedd with the order as he got the alert in his phone he saw that the merchacnt changed the order from  $1 = 1,460 Naira to $1 = 1,270 Naira.

He reported the account, and up until now, support is still settling the issues with which they have restricted his trade. Brothers, be careful. Always be vigilant to check before releasing any of your assets. These merchants are cunny.
You did the right thing by not sending the Crypto to him.
but You did not mention which p2p platform did you use? you should always use a platform with good reputation. see the feedback and users reviews. and some time the traders in that p2p platform also try to scam people which means the platform is ok but you have to pick traders wisely.
I always use binance p2p for trading. and always pick a trader with highest trust score. never had any problems with that.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet can i use for my needs on: January 30, 2024, 11:01:48 AM
I will say Electrum is more suitable for a newbie due to its popularity and simple UI/UX. But choose your bitcoin wallet based on multiple factors via: Choose your Bitcoin wallet

For altcoins, you can refer replies from Open source multi crypto wallets!

Your wallet must provide private keys/seedphrases and it should be open source.
Electrum is one of the best wallets for bitcoin. but I would advice a newbie to use a wallet which supports bitcoin and altcoins both. Coinomi, or Trustwallet these two would be perfect fit for OP.. while it is not a problem for him to use  multiple wallets but as you said a newbie. then it is better to stick with one wallet until you gain some experience in crypto.
Coinomi and trustwallet both are non custodial. BTW. coinomi works on an electrum seed too. so it should be good for OP.
38  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎰 What's Your Top Pick for Crypto Casinos in 2024? Share & Discover Hidden Gems on: January 30, 2024, 10:37:29 AM
Stake.com is by far the best out there in my opinion.
I am not a gambler. but I always had a good experience interacting with the stake website. I received a payment once for an article i wrote for them in my stake account. that's where i got to experience their website a little bit. I kept those XRP in my Stake vault for almost 2 years and they kept intact until i withdraw them  recently few months ago.

Your opinion is not related to the casino feature aside from the vault part. But your deal with them outside the casino doesn’t reflect their casino performance in general. I have a good time on Stake either but I’m not that impressed with their live games since they prioritize with their exclusive tables that has limited seat to 1 while other tables offer 3 at max.

Livecasino for me is the hidden gem especially for those hardcore players for live games since they have multiple tournaments every week tailored for live games. Also they have rewards every weekends that doesn’t have any wagering requirements.
yeah. that's a fair point bro. you are right about that. I didn't try the casino itself so can't comment on that. but considering their reputation and adoption in mainstream world, don't you think they are the biggest in the industry?
What about the one you wearing in your signature,  "Dualbits" how was your experience with that? or you didn't try that so far?
39  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 30, 2024, 10:31:22 AM
If you are careful the damage will be reduced a lot missteps lead to bad luck. If you have less experience in gambling it is better not to be here because if the greed works inside you will find yourself a victim of bad consequences. To be like a responsible gambler follow them. They are not greedy how to protect their funds and proceed with a budget. There must be tolerance inside and can never try to recover the damage then all is over.
You are right but it is not easy for everyone to control their emotions. and when someone start gambling. and losing he loses all his self-control and continues gambling and don't stop until loose all his money.
I learned one thing about gambling is that only Greeed is not the main reason of constant gambling and loosing. but anger and frustration are the bigger reasons for that.
when you get frustrated on your loses and then willing to do anything to cover your loose that's when you start loosing.
Always bring little bit of money with you when you go to gambling.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best way make your Bitcoin anonymous right now? "Mixers"? on: January 29, 2024, 05:07:28 PM
Because of how Monero works, your crypto is now fully anonymous. You can now swap it back for bitcoin or any other crypto, and your coins are untraceable.
how should he swap them to keep them anonymous? using any centralized exchange would make  them known to him again. which would kill the whole point.
I think A Good mixer is still better than all these hassles.

What he suggest works since Monero is fully privacy token which means it’s untraceable once you already sent it to other Monero wallet.

He suggest to use a DEX to purchase monero using his Bitcoin in able to have a fully privacy monero to begin the wash. There’s no problem anymore if you will send it on centralized exchange or something that will expose your identity because the token is already clean. The whole point of mixing or chasing privacy is to erase the source of that token that will lead to you.

Not all user is mixing just to hide their money. Some are mixing to getaway from whatever shit they did just to acquire that particular Bitcoin.
Yes, I understand that Monero itself is Good as long as it stays Monero. but I am not aware of any DEX which supports Monero to BTC swaps Monero and BTC both are Coins. Dexs are for tokens. so when it comes to converting monero into bitcoin again then we'll start loosing privacy.
The best we can do is use a manual centralized exchange such as BestChange or any similar site. but I am afraid that won't keep your privacy intact.
