my 290s make 890-900kH@320-340W (at the wall)

that really is a good price...
if I had some time on my hand, I would really consider this...
I just cannot take care of that sweet thing right now... I really hope you find a good new owner...

about the enqeuing error... try a low TC and see if that resolves it.

I have tried many configs and often using a lower TC will give almost the same results (few kH off) so that could save you from buying more RAM...

An idea on implementing backup pools for renters.

let the rig owner put two pools in his command line that point to betarigs.
if the renter sets up a backup pool then the second pool will point to that, if he neglects, it could just point to his primary pool, or a pool set by the rig owner.

280x can be the best efficiency wise.
my own experience:
280x toxic: 755kH@220W
280x dual-x: 710kH@230W
270: 478kH@170W
290: 895@330W (hash goes from 892-905 and power draw from 280-330)

(those values are calculated/measured "at the wall", so PSU requirements may be slightly below)

if you need blower style cooling, then 290 is the way to go.
if you are using risers and have ample cooling/space, then 290s give great power density.

if you want to go "small", maybe try a 4 card 270 setup. it is easier to handle (price, cards, PSU requirements, heat, noise)
a 270s setup may be a perfect compromise...

actually I am going to try a 4x270+1x280x setup soon. but since I only have a spare 1000W PSU (multirail), it may not work...

Is it legal to distribute your own OS based on Windows 8?
Isn't this copyrighted by Microsoft?

read some posts above...

So "Error -4: Enqueueing kernel onto command queue" seems to be the order of the day when running any of the miners. Anybody have any success of note?

more RAM (are you using 8GB?)
or less TC...

Do you need to sign up for downloading? It seems an ugly 404 appears when you click on d/l button Sad
same here :-/

thanks for your work!

I just tried CraPE v0.3 and got a newer cgminer to work (after sgminer failed because of MSVCR120.DLL / Visual Studio Build)

now is there any way to remote into that machine? e.g. how do I get a resistant tightVNC on there, that will remain through reboot?

also it would be cool if GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 was set already, have to do it manually right now ;-)

Best thing to do is write the whole thing to a USB stick using an utility like YUMI (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/). Then you can run the apps you want without a problem. I've had a success with RealVNC and a port of Radmin without a glitch. Trying to run Teamviewer though was an issue not yet resolved...

Be sure your USB stick is FAT32 formatted and named as "WIN8PESE" in order for the scripts to run.

Cheers.

Huh

what does your reply have to do with my question?

I am using it already, and I know how to edit scripts...
my question was, how do I get programs to be resistant?

are you using sgminer or newer cgminer? I think they have a problem reconnecting/checking "dead" pools and therefore will never switch back to betarigs.

I am having the same issue and talked to the sminer/cgminer guys already..

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - We need more keccak rigs! on: February 14, 2014, 08:01:35 AM
Ok I got word that since there was more chance to get hired if in the frontpage, some ppl were creating new rigs again and again with their current ones.
So.

The frontpage now displays the best rated rigs!

And Heavy_Machinery's Rig #341 "HeavyMachinery" is the best one atm!

maybe split in 5 top rated and 5 top rated available?

Reply to customer feedback is now available!

You can finally answer those unfounded 0/10 by those renters trying to mine maxcoin with your scrypt miner  Grin

Woohooo

Thank you. But... A bit more characters? kinda short

choose wise words, get more efficient :-P
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: February 12, 2014, 09:37:58 PM
hey, could you please get out of my thread with your stupid 7950s EOL problem?

if you are mining on used cards for cheap, then warranty is not the thing you should worry about!
if you are worried, get a newer model 280x is there... quite similar. (i know that it is the 7970 and not the 7950)

so end of story. please leave now!
Your thread is bad and your knowledge is limited.
The EOL problem is everyone's problem.

yes, you are absolutely right. i wish my thread was not so bad and my knowledge was not so limited... if only I could find someone like you to enlighten me..

is it slapstick time already?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: February 12, 2014, 09:35:36 PM
the 280x settings?

they are in the the post you quoted...

just plain default 280x settings... just chainged engine for best ratio at my low voltage...
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: February 12, 2014, 09:34:03 PM
might have to look into that (in a couple weeks/months), right now scrypt still works ;-)

I kinda like LTC so it is hard for me to even mine something like dogecoin (for profit), but then there is a huge community thats not nerdy behind it... it can be a success...
still having a hard time to tinker with other coins xD

I am still surprised by the results form the 7950... how come that it is "so much better" than a 7970/280x it is the same thing after all...

also wondering (read it in another post) what the 280 (non-x) will be, and if it come to see live...
same with dual-hawaii.

So I've read about building rigs and such but there is a thing that I don't understand. I got a p5kr asus mobo this one http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KR/#specifications , with 2 x PCIe x16 (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode) supports 1 x PCIe x1 and 3 x PCI. I have a quad q6600, 2 GB DDR2. Can I use this computer that I'm working and writing now from, to put let's say 3 R9 R270, don't they require pci 3.0? And what about the risers. How to use them? Must I buy a mobo that has 4 slots pcie x16 to build a mining rig? A mobo with 4 slots is a lot of money.

Can I use this mobo Gigabyte 990FX AM3? If yes, please make a detail explanation of how? A raiser from x1 to x16 can deliver the same amount of hashpower or not, it is the same with 4x to 16 and 8x to 16?

Thank you for your time.

I could answer your questions, but they really don't belong in this thread.

you could search a little bit more, make your self knowledable first! then open a newbee thread and ask those questions.

only one thing
GPUs for mining require ANY PCIe slot (old slow ones, or 1x will work too), you only need to find a way to plug them in (like with a riser from 1x -> 16x)
you only need better pcie if you want to game, or do other stuff..
hashpower comes from the GPU not the connection to the Mobo. that is only to RUN the gpu at all.

now leave this thread please!
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - 30 Keccak rigs over here! on: February 12, 2014, 01:42:25 PM

Yes, that is correct sir! I suppose there's a valid reason behind this

Ah I see, so mux is using the wallet address as a unique identifier in his database.
I would have thought the rig name, but I guess it makes sense.

Straight forward database change relatively speaking. It'll just depend how long his to do list is.

Good to know for the future when I finally get my second rig up.

that does not make sense, you can change the rig name, but you can change the BTC address as well,
I am sure MUX uses another unique database identifier... anything else would be cruel!
