21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can someone explain the pros and cons of Ubiq to me? on: December 21, 2017, 10:16:29 PM
Question is in the title, but basically I've run into a few people talking about Ubiq lately and I'd like to hear your opinions of it.
22  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think is the ultimate waste of your money? on: December 21, 2017, 10:14:24 PM
Fast food - it's a double waste of money since you're buying food that won't give you energy, and then it contributes to making you sick so that you eventually run up medical bills.  Do yourself a massive favor and go to the grocery store/make your food at home.  We quit fast food like two years ago and it completely changed my life.
23  Other / Off-topic / Re: I just won $400,000 gambling.. help me on: December 21, 2017, 10:07:34 PM
I shit you not, I went from .1 bitcoin to over 100 bitcoins. I swear on my life, and now I don't know what to do. I have a very series gambling problem and I was negative 10 bitcoins before I won 100 last night and I am terrified to death I lose my new found bitcoins. All I can think about and all I crave is to gamble again but there is no doubt in my mind that I will lose it all on that site if I go back. I need help, I don't know what to do. All I think and dream about is going back on that site and it's killing me.

Yikes! Hope that worked out ok and that you didn't go back, but if you need to spend some bitcoin to keep you from putting it all back into the gambling, feel free to buy some of my bitcoin t-shirts:) https://wewearcrypto.com

Also: Please get a hardware wallet and make sure your bitcoins are safe and not sitting on coinbase or something, that's gone up a ton in value since September!
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Best tip on saving money on: December 21, 2017, 10:01:24 PM
Hi guys! Can you share some tried and tested tricks on making the most out of your buck and also some tips on how to save money more effectively. This will be a heck of a help to our fellow users here. Thank you so much.

I have several separate bank accounts and I divide my money across them so that it's inconvenient to spend too much at once:)
25  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Original Artwork for BTC on: December 21, 2017, 09:51:18 PM
Thank you for the appreciations  Smiley

I love art and work a lot in this field, it is my universe.
Maybe you will have the opportunity to see the next project in the country to you, I'm preparing a large exhibition.
But I'm not trying to get famous, some auction houses speculate on my work.
My art is for everyone.

I just want to give an example, artist Piero Manzoni, he sold a 30 gram of cans containing his excrement for the equivalent of 30 grams of gold Smiley

How much does gold cost now and how much it costs to conserve "Artist's Shit" Cheesy

That's why I value my work, I want to grow naturally going from one point to another, not to be stimulating from outside Wink

As a fellow artist, I respect your confidence, but you have to understand that people here are looking at art as an investment, so more proof of the value can only help you - do you have a website or a link to a wikipedia page to show your experience, or maybe some press links about the exhibition in your country?

I've never heard of this company. Is this a knockoff of Rogaine?!?

That's what I was wondering!
27  Economy / Goods / [GIVEAWAY] Giving Away 3 Original Crypto-Themed Digital Portraits on: December 21, 2017, 08:55:06 PM
Hey guys! My husband and I are digital artists, we do surrealistic pieces (think of that picture of the guy in the bowler hat with an apple by René Magritte... just more detailed...)

We've done a lot of privately commissioned pieces and are primarily known for our movie poster artwork (we did the poster art that set off the whole incident with the drag queens and dragons confusion at that drive-in theater in Alabama...  you can see the poster and the story here on TMZ.

Here's a video breakdown so you can see how we created another one of our pieces here...

And here's some weirder pieces I did  featuring Bill Murray as a variety of different birds here...

Anyway, we want to offer crypto-themed digital portraits - think of those old oil portraits, but if you dunked them in lsd and sprinkled them in hints of the subjects' favorite things and gave a nod to their favorite cryptocurrency in the composition.  This is, obviously, pretty hard to sell without a visual example. So we've got to do a few first so that we've got something to show off.

So, we decided to give away 3 digital portraits - one portrait each to the first three people that can provide a decent digital photo of themselves (must be at least 1200 px wide) and name their favorite cryptocurrency along with a list of 3 favorite things (for example: " Bitcoin is my favorite cryptocurrency, and I love football, jazz and fishing..." )

You'll receive the final digital file (and a link to a youtube video with a layer breakdown so that you can see how it was created) and you can print it on anything (we do everything super high res so that you can print it huge) and you'll be free to use it however you like. We just reserve the right to share it as an example.

Anyway, post your image or a link to it in the comments along with your cryptocurrency of choice and a list of 3 of your favorite things (No hate or adult requests will be accepted, not our cup of tea;) ) We'll post the final artwork in this thread along with sending a larger print file directly to you.

Happy Holidays!

Erin

EDIT: We've got two done so far and have one more portrait up for grabs! Here are the portraits we've just finished:

The noble hound, immortalized in portrait form...

And here's the bionic seahawks man...

EDIT #2: We've found our third person, so stay tuned to see the third portrait! If you missed out and still want a portrait, I am accepting all reasonable offers for commissions.

Positivity is key. Your words speak your reality into existence; if you're trying to use negativity to improve your life, you'll probably find it eating you alive fairly quickly.

31  Economy / Goods / Epic Bitcoin T-Shirts - 16 Original Designs on: December 16, 2017, 05:02:46 AM
Hey all! I just launched a line of Bitcoin t-shirts because I got tired of seeing unoriginal bitcoin t-shirt designs floating around and I felt like it deserves something cooler. I've been a digital artist/designer for a little over 10 years and I really love t-shirts.

All of my shirts are $21 plus shipping, and they are printed on 100% cotton American Apparel shirts so that they stay awesome for a long time.

I can also do custom orders if you're looking for something specific or if you'd like to have your bitcoin address added to your t-shirt:) I'm fairly new over here but you can stalk my profile on reddit at u/psbear or message me on telegram, my username is psbear64 - my shop is https://wewearcrypto.com - I accept Bitcoin, Litecoin, Paypal & Debit/Credit

33  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Encrypting Digital Art in the Blockchain = A way to make "one of a kind" pieces? on: December 09, 2017, 09:47:32 PM
Selling digital art as an asset?I think that digital art is a product, not an asset.
Currencies, stocks and real estate are assets.Rare paintings that cost millions of dollars can also be considered as assets.Anyway, there`s no way to stop copy-pasting,free sharing and stealing.
The Internet is a big copy-pasting community.I was trying to sell digital art like you,but i gave up.

My question is a bit more to the technical/theoretical side of things; I make a living off of digital art, so selling it isn't the issue - I'm thinking more in terms of like, theoretically I could encrypt a piece of art in the block chain and designate that as the "official" original file. The art is a product only if it is physically printed on a product now, therefore it is an asset. In the most germinal sense, I'm exploring the idea of digitally marking that asset.

Pretty sure you're a decade late if you were hoping to change the terminology Grin
35  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to earn money with Instagram? on: December 09, 2017, 12:13:47 AM
I am interested how we can earn money with Instagram if we have enough followers and how much is minimum am out of followers which we need to make money.

Usually, you need to get 50k-100k followers to be of interest to sponsors, but if you can get to that number with real followers, you can get some nice cash (a few hundred to a few thousand) per sponsored post.  Buying a bunch of fake followers won't cut it as it's obvious when you do that & the companies that will pay you are paying for exposure to a real audience. Pick a focus topic/theme and spend a few months intensively building up your following though and you can make some great money.

It honestly hadn't occurred to me to set a few aside for my daughter until I saw your post but I'm totally going to do that now, great idea.
37  Bitcoin / Project Development / Encrypting Digital Art in the Blockchain = A way to make "one of a kind" pieces? on: December 08, 2017, 10:50:00 PM
Ok, so I'm a digital artist and for several years, I've been trying to figure out a logical way to really lock a file in as the "original" piece of art. With digital art it can be tough because obviously, files can be copied and pasted, shared, torrented... you name it. So there's no way to really permanently assign the value of something being the original piece.

I've been thinking about it a lot this week though, and what if an original artwork file was encoded in the blockchain (similar to what they're talking about here... http://www.righto.com/2014/02/ascii-bernanke-wikileaks-photographs.html)

Wouldn't that theoretically give us a way to officially designate the "original" piece of art (vs. "prints" or "copies") thereby making it easier to sell digital art as an asset?

I'd love to hear other thoughts on this or any ideas relating to how to achieve this!

I see a major opening for consulting, especially for older people that are interested in investing but intimidated by the technology/learning curve.
