21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 52 Times Bitcoin Died 2010 - 2018 (infographic) on: August 22, 2018, 12:36:30 PM
Here's an infographic that shows 52 ways Bitcoin died in 2010 – 2018. Funnily it seems that the same news and doomsday talks seem to continue from year to year and Bitcoin just goes on. And also, when the course dips, more and more these articles pop up. When the course is going up, there seems to be not so much doomsday articles. Anyway here it is:

Sorry couldn't paste it here because don't have enough "karma"...

there is no need to use the world died. It dropped in price, that's absolutely inevitable with all the assets, but it didn't die. It would mean that it wouldn't go further form there
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a threat to USD and Pound Sterling? on: August 22, 2018, 12:34:11 PM
Hello guys,

Do you think bitcoin will be a threat to USD and Pound Sterling in the nearest future?

if yes, give an estimated time this can happen.

I think it's a threat to fiat currencies in long term, but not sure about short term to be frank. Too many things depend on fiat currencies, so only something really huge would crash it
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚛️ [ANN] Bitcoin Atom - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Atomic Swap Powered ⚛️ on: August 20, 2018, 08:08:05 AM
Can you please tell me what is the current price of BCA? And is the bitcoin atom on the stock exchanges?
It's all there, only you looked a little bad or maybe you didn't look at all. In General, the principle is the same, no difference do not see.
At the moment the price:
$0,329043 USD
0,00005191 BTC

1   ExratesExrates   BCA/BTC
2   ExratesExrates   BCA/USD
3   Stocks.Exchange
4   CryptoBridgeCryptoBridge
5      Yobit

Yes it is in stocks exchange, check price by yourself on coinmarketcap. The thing that puzzles me is why I cant see that bca is on yobit exchange when I search on coinmarketcap? Is it delisted?
And on the exchange Itself Yobit trades are on Bca, an interesting point. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the wallet does not work and there is no output.

community asked coinmarketcap to delist yobit volumes from BCA charts due to their inability to offer real BCA trading as they don't allow deposits or withdrawals, so it's only futures trading.

25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese Investor bought 10,000 bitcoin during the dip! on: August 19, 2018, 02:53:50 PM
I'm not sure about this information either. But why do you know? China is now banned from Bitcoin because its government fears Bitcoin will be a powerful tool for corrupt money laundering officials to turn corrupt money into secret property. Apparently Bitcoin is illegal in the country, so how can that person save up to 10,000 bits? If you answered that the Bitcoin trader's anonymity is undisputed, why are 10,000 Bitcoins found? I find it absurd.

he can easily hold it with a Hong Kong company for instance, it's just a little technical detail, no reason to believe it's not true. if he has companies all over the world, it couldn't be easier.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin must be regulated! on: August 19, 2018, 02:51:11 PM
This is necesarry now because bitcoin involve huge money and the possibilities is that the bitcoin that we may hold may not have any value any more for its equivalency to fiat money are already secured in the owners system pocket. Our trust is slowly degrading for what we had on the current market even the huge investors are already withdrawing their money on bitcoin. And it does not help with small scale investors so there should be a preventive measure to be undertaken but hey where are the team? Common people like me does not even know who owns bitcoin and who are the team composing of bitcoin. If the system needs advancement they should create a remedial for the current market like having another promotion to get more investors. With the attitude of the market price manipulator right now there is no guarantee that bitcoin market price could recover. There is no action being taken and i do not if the team are so selfish with their business on this system they created. Are they only milking the investors? Obviously if this is their ideals then i will not expect bitcoin will last long.

sayings like your trust is slowly withdrawing and all investors feel the same is not true. Again just an emotional useless post from someone who has zero understanding of the market
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please Explain on: August 18, 2018, 04:12:53 PM
I dont really get you guy's whenever you encounter situation like this you panic because the price goes down.

If you really trust this technology why are you losing your hope everytime there is  a small storm coming on bitcoin? Panicking makes you blind on what you really need to do, Instead of investing more because it is a good opportunity to buy you are selling your bitcoin's and taking your loss.  Cheesy

This is what those whales really want to happen wait for the price dump and take that opportunity to invest more while you are selling your bitcoin on cheaper prices.

I hope this post will enlighten your mind.  Smiley

not everyone is able to endure the stress of prices falling, especially the noobs who invested expecting immediate prices overnight. They will either learn or leave the community
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your coins physically secure? on: August 18, 2018, 04:11:49 PM
We're all aware of the risks of keeping our coins on online wallets and exchange wallets, but many of us still keep our coins on our own devices.

Are we keeping our devices secure? Its instinctual to not leave your fiat money wallet unattended in a public place but what about your bitcoin wallet? Are you leaving leaving the laptop you're writing your novel on the table at Starbucks when you go the bathroom? The laptop with your electrum wallet, your life savings.

Where does the line between paranoia and reasonable physical security meet?

definitely go with hardware wallet, it doesn't cost too much and gives you the right amount of protection if you know how to use it properly and back up your keys of course
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons behind Bitcoin/Cryptomarket fall??? on: August 18, 2018, 04:10:49 PM
Cryptos have been held back in recent days amid increasing levels of scrutiny from regulators, most notably in South Korea, where the government is planning to clamp down on trading in virtual currencies.

I'm wondering what is happening in South Korea, I understand they started regulating the crypto and crypto exchanges and major exchanges already comply. Is there a U turn on that?
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money on: August 18, 2018, 04:09:39 PM
Bitcoin is very popular currency all over the world. Regulate of cryptocurrency is good. Its prevent lot of damage of cryptocurrency. Regulation has prevent wrong use it. Regulation also give guideline how to use cryptocurrency.

regulation might do some good to crypto, but the best option would be decentralized self regulatory bodies created directly by crypto community, thus the people who understand it
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: INVEST AND DON'T HAVE REGRETS !! on: August 18, 2018, 10:03:35 AM
As Blythe Masters said :

“You should be taking this technology as seriously as you should have been taking the development of the Internet in the early 1990’s.”  Shocked

So just put money every months in bitcoin and others altcoins , just a bit , but with the time , it will be a snowball !

But remember ,   WHEN YOU INVEST , JUST THINK THAT THE MONEY IS LOST ! and invest what you can loose !

Here my best Cryptocurrency Portfolio :  Wink

  • 30% BTC
  • 20% ETH
  • 15% NEO
  • 15% ADA
  • 15% FSN
  • 5% ICOS

And to put in a nutshell , yes , there are risks to invest in cryptocurrencies , it's totally true , and if someone say the reverse , he's an ignorant.

But , there are also risks in yours dailys lives guys , when you walk in the streets , you could be hit by a car ...
When you are doing some sports , you could do a cardiac arrest ...

Furthermore , when you invest in stock exchange , the company could call in the receiver ....

I agree that cryptocurrencies have the power to become a new internet, especially with blockchain governance reaching further than only financial models. There is much to be done yet though
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be a national treasure. on: August 18, 2018, 10:00:16 AM
Bitcoin is truly a treasure for someone who achieved even a single piece of it. Its value transcends that of a precious gold dust, proven that most people spend most of their time and effort to gain one bitcoin atleast. One can say that a bitcoin can replace everything; from salary, currency and that of a treasure. A country with its citizen having much reserve of bitcoins can be a powerful economic advantage.

Can we consider bitcoins as national treasure of a country comsidering its economic significance?

bitcoin has the value people are willing to give it. Same goes with other assets and commodities. I'm sure nations will embrace bitcoin very soon even for national reserves etc
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚛️ [ANN] Bitcoin Atom - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Atomic Swap Powered ⚛️ on: August 18, 2018, 09:57:10 AM
They were talking about Bitlish listing before the fork, and nothing happened. These exchanges BCA is listed are least to say ridiculous! And also 24h trade volume of 2 btc...

We agreed with Bitlish they would list us after the fork. If you're interested in seeing BCA on Bitlish, please notify them from your end as well, it might help the listing process. Thanks

Bitlish are not a large exchange anyway, it won't really mean much. Some proper exchange like bitfinex or kraken would be really a game changer, many people would have learned about bca

BCA team has only liltte dreaming for shit exchange. They are stupid. I see do some thing very well that is promises. What is your dream here? They do not have money, technology and no marketing.

interesting to see someone with broken English and zero knowledge of crypto market calling the team that created the code that actually works to be stupid. Well I guess that is what the trolls are for
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do not respond to FUD threads! on: August 15, 2018, 02:12:35 PM
Guys it's becoming more and more popular to spread fud on this forum, I'm actually slowly finding it difficult to look up a thread of any value at all. The best strategy to combat the people who are intentionally spreading ridiculous comments on how bitcoin will die is not to raise those threads by commenting on them. Let them post it and slip into oblivion by not giving them the visibility they're thriving for. Rather create and comment on threads with reasonable remarks on crypto economy.

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future Of Crypto Market Without Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2018, 08:22:29 AM
Crypto market without bitcoin will certainly be very difficult because in almost all markets, bitcoin becomes dominant and almost all coins depend on the price of bitcoin, so in my opinion if the market is without bitcoin the market will no longer be attractive

there is no reason to foresee crypto market without bitcoin as it's the market pioneer and the leader. That might change but it won't disappear, that I'm absolutely confident of
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: INTERNET = BITCOIN? on: August 13, 2018, 08:21:38 AM
why i made a title like that because basically the internet has the same properties with bitcoin ie:
1. Equally made by humans if bitcoin was made in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, while the Internet was created from a computer network established by the US Department of Defense in 1969.
2. The first equation between Bitcoin and the Internet is that Bitcoin is an efficient, decentralized and moving infrastructure based on protocols open to the public.
...

I feel quite reasonable about the interesting sharing of Mr. Kelly (a founding executive, CEO of BKCM LLC). He believes that the explosive growth of the Internet, in the future Bitcoin will be so. He believes that the future of these coding currencies will be similar to the impact of the Internet today.

it's possible that will be the truth. Just when you consider how many financial issues crypticurrencies are sorting, the applciations are basically endless. It could grow bigger than internet
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will be Bitcoin centralized ? on: August 13, 2018, 08:20:15 AM
as per governments view, they never accept decentralized bitcoin. the major reason is they unable to track the sender and receiver. smuggling and black money can send anywhere without third party knowledge.

so do you all think bitcoin can be centralized ? can be do ?

decentralized systems mean people can have better control of the finance. But yes, governments might fear that. However it seems that they're adjusting their frameworks to that
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone is free to use Bitcoin as they want on: August 13, 2018, 08:19:11 AM
There's an ongoing debate in and outside of Bitcoin community regarding the economic nature of Bitcoin: is it a currency or an asset, a store of value, settlement layer and so on. The situation with ETF's also sparked some debates, as some argue that ETF's are bad and Bitcoin should stick to its cypherpunk roots and ignore the mainstream.

I think all sides kinda miss the point of Bitcoin. Bitcoin was created so people can send coins directly to others, without any mandatory middleman. Therefore, every use case is as legit as any other use case, it doesn't violate the freedom of any other user of the network. It doesn't even matter if Satoshi wanted Bitcoin to be a decentralized currency that will kill banks, because one of the principles of Bitcoin is censorship resistance, so if some people want to use centralized services, want regulated environments, speculation and so on, it's their right. All those things have no effect on people who want to use Bitcoin as an alternative currency.

So, I think there is no single answer to whether Bitcoin is an asset or a currency, everyone decides for themselves, because freedom is the ultimate point of Bitcoin.

right, whole ETF thing is funny but understandable. People know it can significantly increase the bitcoin price in short term, while I don't believe it will really matter in a long run

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Asking stores do they accept bitcoin on: July 23, 2018, 08:02:37 AM
How many times have you came in a store and asked whether or not they accept bitcoin when you wanted to pay?

Should we do that EACH time we visit ANY store?
Would we create a huge advertisement for BTC that way?

Would stores start accepting it when they encounter a couple of people on a weekly basis asking them if they accept bitcoin?

Should we start doing this? o.o
Should we create a community so hard core that asks for everything they pay if it could be handled in BTC?

it's definitely good to start asking stores to accept cryptocurrencies, because that's usually the only way to attract their attention as there is a demand for it, unless shop owners are crypto enthusiasts.
