21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: goxtool bot: portfolio rebalancing on: November 23, 2013, 08:03:43 PM
When it happened it was with an order size of 0.03.
At the moment I have an order size of 0.01. Do you think I should increase it?
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: goxtool bot: portfolio rebalancing on: November 23, 2013, 12:14:43 PM
Yes git cloned from the repository yesterday afternoon.

I decided to run a new test on my desktop computer (previous attempt was from a raspberry pi) from scratch, in a more controlled environment.

So I wiped everything from the RaspberryPi and git cloned goxtools and _balancer.py once again on a macmini (OSX 10.8.6).

I deleted the old API key on Gox, and made a new one. Also I made sure no pending orders were there.

I ran ./goxtools.py --add-secret and successfully registered my API key.

I edited _balancer.py so that the parameters state:
DISTANCE=11
FIAT_COLD=0
COIN_COLD=0

I launched goxtools: screen ./goxtool.py --strategy=_balancer.py --protocol=websocket --use-http

Within goxtools I balanced the BTC/$ amounts in my account using "b".
The balance was set on BTC 0.08513863 + USD 72.08415.

Then I pushed "p" and the orders were placed. "i" gives the following debug output:

2013-11-23 13:03:27,278:DEBUG:_balancer.Strategy:BTC difference at current price: -0.00055701
2013-11-23 13:03:27,281:DEBUG:_balancer.Strategy:Price where it would be balanced: 846.66796

And I'm waiting now for the trigger to hit either marker (753$~939$).

Have I missed anything?
23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: goxtool bot: portfolio rebalancing on: November 23, 2013, 11:23:17 AM
I'm right now testing _balancer.py (the version from Github) and I only changed the DISTANCE parameter from 7 to 11.

Before starting I balanced the amount of BTC/$ in my account and made sure the order book was empty.

I start goxtools with the commandline ./goxtool.py --strategy=_balancer.py --protocol=websocket --use-http.

I push "p" and the bot places its two orders. Since last night the bot hit the higher threshold twice, and twice it canceled the remaining order and placed two new orders.
But apparently the script didn't place the new orders at distance 11 from where the BTC sale happened, but started placing them at the same sale/buy price of where the previous buy/sale happened, so that my balances were quickly being eroded by the fees.

So I stopped it for now and decided to ask first. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi! I have a support question.
I submitted a request for a BTC withdrawal this morning at 8.52AM (GMT+1) and it is still showing the status "Processing" now at 12.35PM.
Is that normal? Shouldn't the withdrawal be (almost) instant? If not, how much is it gonna take still?
Thanks for reading me!

Hello! I'm interested in applying for a silver membership at the BTCF for my company as well. Do you know if the fee is one time only or whether it is a recurring one? I can't find any explicit info on their site, I thought maybe you might know as you've already got one.
Thanks!

29  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 2 X ATI Sapphire HD6990. Crossfire, adapters and shipment incl. on: October 11, 2013, 08:41:07 AM
Hi all, I am selling these two perfectly working Sapphire ATI Radeon HD6990.
The two cards are literally *great* for gaming, singularly on different computers, or together in a crossfire setup.

Picture: http://imgur.com/3870LvP

They mine Scrypt coins at about 1.0~1.1Mh/s (together 2.0~2.2Mh/s).
Also they perform well in other types of hash computations: http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=42.

Each card has two 830~880Mhz GPU and 4GB GDDR5 memory, 4 GPU and 8GB videomemory in total.
Tech specs from the producer & drivers info: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1041&lid=1&pid=1114#.
Also, I upgraded one of the cards cooling with an Accelero twin turbo 6990: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/449/accelero-twin-turbo-6990.html.

Price for the two cards together, including worldwide shipment with track&trace code: 5.5 BTC, of course escrow.
The card with the Accelero twin turbo alone: 3.4 BTC, escrow.
The card with the original cooler alone: 2.9 BTC, escrow.
30  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Qt Bitcoin Trader [OpenSource Mt.Gox/BTC-e trading client for Mac/Windows/Linux] on: October 01, 2013, 06:44:37 PM
Thanks for the quick and useful reply Ighor!

Unfortunately, while I write, my IP is still banned...
I think it has been almost for about an hour now...
I'll check again tomorrow morning, hopefully they will have removed the ban by then.

I'm now testing your software with MtGox and it works really nicely!
I have one minor suggestion about the calculator: I trade mostly to increase my BTC stash and not to cash out and it would be nice if, next to the Valuta->BTC->Valuta path, the calculator also allowed the BTC->Valuta->BTC path, maybe just a button that switches the two rows in the UI?

The first trading profit I'll make consider it a donation already for the great work!
Thanks again and good evening!

Hi everybody, I was testing the last beta of QtBitcoinTrader on Bitstamp.
I generated the API on the website, logged in into QtBitcoinTrader, and I started playing around with the rules menu.
So far so good.
Until suddenly an error window appears and tells me I have been disconnected from the server and I must wait 900 seconds (=15 minutes).
Only not it has already been 45 minutes and if I type in my browser the address of Bitstamp all I get is this:

Code:
Error 1006
Access denied
What happened?
The owner of this website (bitstamp.net) has banned your IP address ().
CloudFlare Ray ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX • Your IP: XX.XX.XX.XX • Help • Performance & security by CloudFlare

Has any of you had a similar experience? Do I get unbanned by simply waiting or do I have to contact Bitstamp and explain what happened hoping they will reinstate my IP?

We try to offer more, weight based, shipping options instead of flatrate in the new shop

That sounds great yxt... But I am still waiting for either a proof that my shipment costs were higher than 5,50 EUR or a refund... Please have at least the courtesy of answering me. Thanks.

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [SUPPORT] Coinmine Pools Support Thread on: September 14, 2013, 07:50:17 AM
Hi, I've trying to connect to the CPR pool with YAC cpuminer (v. 2.2.3-yacoin-ri, win64 binary).

I used the following parameters:
Code:
minerd-ssse3.exe -a scrypt-jane -o http://cpr.coinmine.pl:7060 -u myuser -p mypassword --debug

or alternatively

Code:
minerd-ssse3.exe -a scrypt-jane -o http://cpr.coinmine.pl:7060 -O myuser:mypassword --debug

However I keep getting this error:

Code:
[2013-09-14 09:41:47] HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server
[2013-09-14 09:41:47] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

Any ideas?

Why yxt reply neither here on forum nor to the PM nor by email?
Is there any reason?

Like in the old Woody Allen movie, they "took the money and ran away".
I'm just kidding of course... Probably selling mining hardware is not their only occupation and they must be busy with other business as well.
Please let me know if you hear from them.

First organization accepts BountyCoin as a payment method (500,000 BOC)
Doesn't matter how big/small the organization is, or what the organization do, only needs to be "living" and "working".

Hi! My name is Ruggero and I'm one of the founders of 79's. 79's is a regularly registered business from the Netherlands.
We publish and sell high quality prints made by illustrators and designers.
This is our website: http://www.79s.co
and this is our presskit: http://www.79s.co/presskit.pdf

While until now we have sold our products mostly at specialized venues and events, we are now preparing to launch a webstore and we would like very much to include BOC among the cryptocurrencies that we will accept as a payment.

Please let me know if you are interested and of course if this fulfills the bounty Wink
36  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Block Erupter Europe topic|usb from 0.21 |blade 4.895 on: September 10, 2013, 05:28:53 PM
It's kinda of common sense not to take profit on shipping.

This is exactly the point. Thank you for expressing it so clearly.

I am not complaining I had to pay .21 BTC shipping costs. I agreed to that, I am not so stupid.
But right because I have agreed to that, then I pretend to see somewhere in the form of shipping documents, or a stamp, a value which resembles the one I paid, and not just a quarter of it.
And since no valid explanation has been given so far, I must assume the seller is not in good faith here.
37  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Block Erupter Europe topic|usb from 0.21 |blade 4.895 on: September 10, 2013, 08:04:02 AM
I'd like to see a copy of the receipt of my shipping at this point, showing also the sum not displayed on the stamp, it should be my right as a customer.
The barcode of my shipment was the following RT284780405DE.

And if you can't/won't provide such a proof of payment it would be at least honest considering a refund.

Dear people at asicminer-shop.de,
It has already been three days (and still counting...) and I have yet received no satisfying answer from you. Neither here, nor privately. Undecided

If you don't want to answer any of my questions on the inflated shipping costs I'm also fine with no explanation and a partial refund and, let's say .12 BTC?
This way you still have a margin on the envelope used and the stickers.
In that case you can send the refund to this address 1EdNQyLiQX3LYLprr3cwW7qqf6AWF6bfxW

I know I am being a very annoying costumer, but the impression you are making on the other potential customers on this forum by not answering me, and therefore implicitly not being transparent about your shipping costs policy, will not be a good advertising for your business in the long run.

Once again my excuses to the other forum users for having bothered you once more with such a message.
Have a good day.

He fellow Dutchman, don't you forget to include materials, drop-off/pick-up costs and especially labor for picking and packaging your order into your equation? Don't know for which wage or fee you work yourself for, but that could be a nice starting point for calculating labor costs.
I agree the order cost is quite steep, but margin on a single USB-stick doesn't compensate the time you have to put into an order.

Hi Joris,
I know the costs you mention exist too, but assuming they add up to 15 EUR seems excessive, and I think you would agree, at least when we think of the specific nature of the goods in question.

And Joris, even though I agree with you, yxt wrote something different:

the postage itself is only one part. We send them always with full insurance,
But the cost for this doesn't appear on the letter for security reasons.

I am not trying to troll about shipping costs here, I am only asking for some transparency.
I wouldn't have done this if I'd seen a stamp worth 10 EUR to 13 EUR I guess. But a stamp which is roughly the 25% of the shipping costs I paid? As I said, at first I thought it was a mistake, but when I get no answer at all it started irritating me.
I'd have been happy to keep all of this private if asicminer-shop.de had answered my emails in the first place.

I run myself a business which is o.a. selling over the net and I believe shipping costs should be transparent.
If there are handling costs then you specify it in the order, very easy e.g.:

product: .90 BTC
handling fee: 0.15
shipping: 0.06

taxes... etc.

When a seller is sloppy and doesn't do this, then a reaction like mine is legit. And it deserves an answer.
Anyhow, please excuse me if I've bothered you again, and in case you are wondering, I know I am not making any margin on two miners only, I ordered them for simple testing purposes. One reason more I'd have appreciated not being charged with extra (probably non existent) shipping costs.

Hi yxt, and thank you for your reply,
and I hope you will excuse me if I am still not convinced about asicminer-shop.de's shipping policies...

I can see from the Deutsche Post website that an envelope (Versandtasche) up to 500g is 3,45 € (http://www.deutschepost.de/de/b/briefe-ins-ausland.html#tabs-13613554329), and that the international insurance is 2,05 EUR (http://www.deutschepost.de/de/b/briefe-ins-ausland.html#tabs-13613554390).
Assuming I am looking at the right information, the two things sum up to 5,50 EUR.

If my German is not too rusty, on the same page (http://www.deutschepost.de/de/b/briefe-ins-ausland.html#tabs-13613554390) I also see that such an insurance can be increased by paying additional 1,50 EUR for each 100 EUR of value. Are you implying that asicminer-shop.de spent the remaining ~15 EUR to insure for an additional 1000 EUR an expedition worth .90 BTC?!

I'd like to see a copy of the receipt of my shipping at this point, showing also the sum not displayed on the stamp, it should be my right as a customer.
The barcode of my shipment was the following RT284780405DE.
