21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining earnings are terrible, I'm shutting down for a while on: January 31, 2018, 12:14:42 PM
12 EUR/d is still profitable in EU for 4 cards. If you think managing your rig is too much hassle for the return I can make you an offer: We configure remote access and I manage your rig(s), for a share of the income in btc. Even with paying for the service you get most likely more than 12 EUR a day from my setup and monitoring  Wink

My 1080ti, 2x 1080 and 1070 made 12 euro during the last 24 hours.

12 euros.. That's almost next to nothing when substracting the power and transaction costs.

I'm shutting down my miner for a few weeks. Is anyone else taking these drastic measurements, or am I the only one?
I must confess that I don't believe BTC will go up again soon... (sorry to the believers here, no disrespect intended).

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig keeps freezing, need some outside opinions on: January 30, 2018, 08:47:23 PM
I had problems with random freezes and it turned out to be related to the power draw. You can try using the same PSU for the GPUs and their associated risers to it. If it does not help, I'd go with checking all the cables and using treanski's advice.
never use fucking sata i already said it...not with adapters not any other way, only 4pin or 6pin molex
since i stopped using sata for powering risers 99% of my problems are gone
Getting rid of random freezes is a real pain, took me two days going step by step to rule out possible problems.

tried mining, not worth it. 1070 gets 700khs, 1080ti 730 khs. only +5%? something is wrong

Smf. wrong. At this algo 1070 give ~450, 1080ti ~650, so look that you 2 times test 1080ti  Wink

You just convinced me to try again

But it still looks... a bit off

edit: connected to pool, found out that my settings were wrong. finally i am not mining this coin, this seems a bit weird. might look good with slower gpus though

They should check out the legal systems (e.g. EU) before writing something like this... Or just bet that enough people are stupid enough to believe this BS and not claim their warranty
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ Motherboard Spectre Patch Bios v1.20 Released on: January 21, 2018, 09:35:32 PM
Update: System freezes are almost certainly not related to the BIOS.

Reinstalled OS and disabled auto-updates, flashed the 1.10 BIOS but my system still freezes randomly. Rules out the 1.20 BIOS as far as I can tell.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ Motherboard Spectre Patch Bios v1.20 Released on: January 20, 2018, 03:00:08 PM
Anybody experienced random system freezes with the Bios v1.2? Read about the possibility of Spectre+Meltdown BIOS updates causing it.

I am having issues with random browser crashes, too (Opera). Going to install new OS without the latest updates. If it keeps freezing, I'll try flashing back the v1.1.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Megaminer 5.2 - Multi pool / Multi Algo launcher on: January 19, 2018, 11:12:26 PM
I've been wondering myself what the actual rates are for different pools.

I was mining only on Ahash pool, and I realized that their estiamations are inflated. Especially when comparing with Hashrefinery, even for algorithms that are not 'hot', all estimations where 20% higher.

I have a small rig with 3x1070 and right now I'm running an instance of MegaMiner on each so I can compare between Ahash, Hashrefinery and Zpool.
I'm running into different problems comparing the pools though. For example it took a lot of time for Hashrefinery to give me some XVG for the x17 I minned because it's a smaller pool, and there where only about 100 other minners for x17.

Comparing actual vs estimated is even harder as the estimations vary wildly.

I've also made a small monitoring bot to access pools' API every 2 minutes and write results to CSV file. I can then open that in excel and make some graphs over real profit made.

For now, Ahash pool still seems the best, but this experiment will need to run for a lot longer to be sure.

Let me know if you guys are interested in this, or have any other suggestions, and maybe I'll post some numbers a few days from now, when more data accumulates.

EDIT:
here's the tool I made:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2783884

EDIT2:

I have a 3x1070 Rig. I've run 3 instances of MegaMiner one for each card, pointing to Ahashpool, Zpool and HashRefinery

From this morning, this is what I have until now:

I find interesting that both hashrefinery and zpool sometimes the total earned ammount drops a little, while ahash only goes up, and is more consistent, you get many smaller increases, while zpool has some huge jumps (one of those might come later for hashrefinery too). We'll see in a couple of days if we find out anything else.

I've been mining with Megaminer on those pools too and made the same observations. Some time ago I made an excel file with json call every 5 minutes to get the estimates from the different pools and also have been mining on them. Despite of the inflated rate, ahash still gives the best results for me. Maybe you can find out more, looking forward to it. One idea I had but havn't started yet is to calculate the actual profit with the current nethash from the explorers of coins and an api from exchanges, circumventing the use of pool stats. Guess this could be really useful. For example, you could jump on the right coin before the pool actually writes the estimated profit, giving you more shares compared to the people who jump on the coin based on pool stats

BULWARK POOL SUPPORTS CERBERUS COIN

~

The coin was added on our pool, happy mining!

http://bulwarkpool.com

Based on Yiimp pool (No Registration Needed)
Fee  : 0.5% Only

Code:
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://eu.bulwarkpool.com:4233 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> -p c=CBS
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://us.bulwarkpool.com:4233 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> -p c=CBS
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://asia.bulwarkpool.com:4233 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> -p c=CBS

Code:
Code:
Pool host: eu.bulwarkpool.com
Pool port: 4233
Pool user: Your_Wallet_Address
Pool pass: c=CBS
Algorithm: NeoScrypt

Pool keeps changing to VIVO instead of CBS, interrupting and disconnecting. Looks from the hashrate that I am not the only one with the problem. Any way to prevent this from happening?

edit: seems to be working now

Any word of price of that new 7nm ASIC and when will be available to buy?

2019 at earliest, if they can beat competitors.

12nm coming next

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Nvidia GTX 1070 - Best Mining Settings? on: December 31, 2017, 01:42:03 PM
Depends on your card. I've got a Gigabyte 1070 Mini and went with the BIOS for the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming. Works flawlessly after optimization, core +50, mem +200 and power target 70%. Its using 150w and I get 15-20% more hash than on stock settings and no fail when switching algos.

I think the most important when choosing the BIOS is that the memory type (e.g. Samsung, Micron) is the same as from your card. I personally think best to go with BIOS from the same brand. Better check some guides on flashing 1070 though.

Edit: BIOS I got from here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=&manufacturer=&model=GTX+1070&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Nvidia GTX 1070 - Best Mining Settings? on: December 31, 2017, 10:37:14 AM
I only used afterburner but some advice: first thing to do is checking temperature, if it is too high the cards do not work in boost mode and stick to +-1600 mhz instead of +1900. I've manually set the fan of my gtx 1070 mini to 100%. Check if the voltage is stable or keeps jumping. If temp and volt are stable you can try to slowly change the gpu and mem clock. if you do not mind about warranty, for example if your cards are older, you could also flash a new gpu bios, I got stable voltage and permanent boost simply by flashing, but afterwards had to reduce power limit to 70% to get stable temp.

Nice guide. I am about to build a rig, but I will assemble the frame myself.

I see you use cards with blower fans. Have you ever had temp issues with it?

Blowing the hot air on the back of another card does not seem like a long lasting solution to me, I am considering to install my blower cards on the side of the frame or vertical on top.

I don't know why miners use this niceshit , they already lost your money ,$60 f'kin milli thats real serious money , just use console miners or do you like to get bankrupted.
