21  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: KanoPool 0.9% fee 🐈 since 2014 - Worldwide - 2432 blocks - Solo 0.5% fee on: February 15, 2021, 06:55:08 AM
Could I find out if the Block find reward/incentive  is still valid? Eg >9.5PH = 1BTC for found block.
22  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 19, 2019, 02:14:57 AM
Wow have not been here in a while and the last block was in March. Man, it is time to crack a block. We are almost at 50% luck now.
23  Economy / Services / Looking to rent S9/S9i/S9j (1PH - 40PH) - long term rental on: April 17, 2019, 09:56:49 AM
We are looking to rent specifically Antminer S9/S9i/S9j SHA256d miners for a long term (approx 3-6months).

Requirements are:
1. Must be all S9 or S9i or S9j
2. Must be running bmminer and not a custom firmware
3. Minimum of 1PH
4. Cannot be run through a proxy service
5. Cannot be rented from another 3rd party/service.

Payment
- Calculated based on realtime bitcoin profitability (excluding tx fees) + 15%.
eg 0.0000393 btc/th/day + 15%

eg Check current profitability here. https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=1&HashingUnit=TH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=0

- Paid out daily (24hrs) either before or after a shift in BTC based on hashrate delivered.

Do PM if you have miners that you are looking to rent at the best rate available.

Asking some math wiz here....

What's the calculation for the mean max diff that statistically can be achieved in a 24hr day if say I have a system that is:

20TH
200TH
2PH

I know that it's all variance and it can go to the tails but what is the statistical norm?

And further to that based on that value, what's the max mean diff that can be achieved in a 30 day month?

I know it's out there somewhere but I can't be sure of the answer for some reason. Help will be greatly appreciated!

Congrats everyone on the block find. And there is a GUI on the main website now! Whoot
26  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [0PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: February 02, 2018, 06:26:54 AM
sorry guys, MRR switched my rigs to kano during the outage and never switched back and i didn't even know about it. just noticed the hash rate drop now and had to switch the rigs back manually.
Best news I've heard all day, have a merit point Smiley

Thanks, just noticed the new merit thingy. I'll set up a script to monitor my hash and notify me so that hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Guys just note that MRR has their management proxy setup to failover without priority (or one that I can't see). Thus once you get disconnected or have a socket failure with a pool, it will switch to the next available one and they don't seem to revert back to the higher priority pool once it comes back online. It's a huge pain when it gets disconnected and there is need to reset the pool lists for each miner.

For anyone looking to monitor the pool and their workers, you can consider either writing your own code or cron job to poll the server else you can just signup for a monitor service like http://www.monitis.com/ or https://www.pingdom.com/ etc and configure it to read the JSON and read the worker number at regular intervals at the stats page that has been setup by CK http://ckpool.org/users/xxxxxxxxxx

@CK last thing, the subdomain name is a bit of a pain to remember and will cause more questions here for sure once people start using it more. Eg currently:

Website:
Pool = pool.ckpool.org - OK
Solo = solo.ckpool.org - OK

Stratum Server:
Pool = pool.ckpool.org - OK
Solo = solo.ckpool.org - OK

Stats Page:
Pool = ckpool.org - EH?
Solo = pool.ckpool.org & solo.ckpool.org - Both pulls our the same stats.

Not sure if it's just me cos I am mining on both or is this universal and will cause confusion to some. Just my humble suggestion.
27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 246 blocks solved! on: January 31, 2018, 08:31:30 AM
ah ha ok, thanks. Time to disable my uptime monitor and put in a rate limiter.

Created a simple cron job to monitor it and the miners and end up being the fastest to report apparently when there is any downtime.
28  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 246 blocks solved! on: January 31, 2018, 08:24:18 AM
Is the solo and pool down again? Can't connect from multiple locations.

CK, any reason for the downtime? Might be useful to know if there are maintenance schedules. Thanks again.
29  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 246 blocks solved! on: January 30, 2018, 11:37:17 PM
Guys, solo servers seems to be back up.
30  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 246 blocks solved! on: January 30, 2018, 10:27:35 PM
Is it just me or is solo.ckpool.org and de.ckpool.org down?

I can ping the server but can't seem to connect to the stratum ports, tried it from multiple IP sources to no avail. The statistics page via ckpool.org/users/xxxxxx seems stuck as well.

Guys,

Technical question: How does CGminer split its job in an ASIC miner?

Background (I tried to go in depth in the C code but I still can't find the right function for it):
- I am trying to hack together a ASIC miners' hashing boards to work together in a particular way
- Assuming that it's for Bitcoin mining and given an ASIC miner like an Antminer S9 etc and assuming I have the drivers for it
- I know that Stratum will issue the extranonce2_size and other header details to CGminer
- How does CGminer split the job between the different boards/chips? I assume it splits the job based on the returned extranonce2 values generated as it doesn't look like a simple increment of the extranonce2 from 0x00 up.

Any ideas or fingers pointing in the right direction will be super appreciated.

Thanks all

Guys, thanks for trying to explain. I get the 1 apple vs 0.98 of an apple and yes i guess i was trying to just codify the argument about payout duration differences. The bigget issue with this pay structure without a more consistant block find is that for us newbies, we are forced to choose between a pool with daily payouts (slushpool) vs one (ck) that gives the addtional 2% back but a payout that can stretch to possibly 4-5 months (now).

I’m in it to try to let the little guy make a dent in the market held by the Antpools and BTCs of the world but that is truely the biggest hurdle that this pool will have convincing many more miners to move over.

Its clear that once there is a more regular block find say a minimum of one every week or so that this argument would be moot and the little efficiency of saving the 2% starts to make a difference.

Did you guys read about the clampdown on power usage by miners in China? The new proposed regulations if they do come into force might change the balance of hashing power out of china and hopfully give pools like this a fighting chance to gain a food hold.

Lastly, @computergenie i assume that the 3rd  address with ‘genie’ is yours! How did you manage to score or create that one?

34  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [7PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: January 20, 2018, 02:31:14 PM
@Dkirk great. Just didnt want us to be fighting a torrent of increasing network hashing power and increasing diff with the same or decreasing hash rate at the pool.

Looking forward to see your miners coming on board and ill try to repos mine as soon as i work out the math. The derp and herp makes sense when i read the explainations but makes my head hurt when i try to do an apple to apple comparision with something like slushpool.

@sabre_labs
Welcome aboard.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can assure you that I'm not going anywhere. I'm emotionally invested in seeing this pool succeed.

Great to hear that. Looking forward to hitting the next block with you guys. If the current rate persists hopefully we can do a monthly block party. Just curious what was the pool hashrate when we hit the last 3 blocks? Just trying to do some forward projections based on past and current difficulty.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [7PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: January 20, 2018, 11:29:37 AM
Hey guys,

Just joined the pool and catching up with the talk on this forum. Commiting 100TH for now and seeing where that leads and hopefully we get another block.

I am keen to shift more miners over but analysis of the pool work seems to show wetsuit as the biggest contributor and maybe one or a few more of you guys renting here and there to boost things.

Not sure if you guys will flame me but is there any word on longer term commitment of the big miners on this pool or any new bigger miners coming on board? My concern is before moving more miners over is the possibility of the bigger contributors leaving and the the hash rates drop to levels that it becomes unrealistic to expect a block in sic my lifetime.

I am a all or nothing person so i am keen to move my small operation over (about700Th) and just wanted touch base with everyone and say keep up the good work to CK.
