21  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] New Fork of BitAddress.org on: December 31, 2013, 09:14:48 PM
I'll do it for .1 BTC. I'll even host it on a dedicated box for .4 BTC

artw1982,
I'd like some time to consider this offer, if that's alright. I wouldn't need it to be hosted, it would just be something I could download and run offline. For myself. It would be completely up to the creator if they would wish to make it public. As long as I have the right to share it privately, for free, and I would want the right to edit the code or have someone else update/edit the code privately as well.

Another thing I would need from you is a example of your work. (For proof of quality and that you know what you're doing, of course.)
Thank you for your offer,
Sammey

P.S., If someone would like to make the program in Java or Python, that'd probably yield a bigger bounty. (It'd need to be able to be run on Python 2.7 or both 3.x and 2.7. Or if made in Java, make sure everything is able to be run on Windows and Linux using Oracle Java 7.)

Bumper Cars.
23  Bitcoin / Project Development / [BOUNTY] New BitCoin Tool [Java, JavaScript, or Python] on: December 27, 2013, 08:33:09 PM
I am looking for someone to make a new tool based on BitAddress.org, bit2factor.org, bitescrow.org, PyWallet 2.1.7, and BrainWallet.org.

Must work cross platform with Windows and Linux - At the least.

What the tool needs:

Required Only If written in JavaScript:
Required Only If Written In Java or Python:
  • Must be able to delete addresses from a MultiBit Wallet file. (Preferred to be able to import as well.)
Required for JavaScript, Java, and Python:
  • A BIP38 encryption/decryption section. This would not only generate new BIP38 encrypted addresses, (password "box" would be needed.) but also encrypt and decrypt current already-made keys.
  • Brain Wallet section to make compressed and uncompressed addresses.
  • Single Wallet section (like on bitaddress.org), to make compressed and uncompressed addresses.
  • Must be in English - No other language is needed.
  • Add two-factor escrow section with the same functions as: bit2factor.org (https://github.com/mannkind/bit2factor.org)
  • Add a second escrow section with the same functions as: bitescrow.org (https://github.com/mannkind/bitescrow.org)
Current Bounty: Make an Offer? (In USD to convert to BitCoin or Just In BitCoin)

You need to agree that you are willing and able to update this every now and again (exceptions can be made). There will be a pre-set price for each update.

Please Note: I only need this tool in one programming language.

Doesn't work

[sarcasm]Very informative! *claps*[/endsarcasm]

Shitty, had to do address by address
waste of time and didn't even work

[sarcasm]Nice feedback! *Shocked*[/endsarcasm]

Awaiting blockbadge

[sarcasm]With all of your nice feedback, I don't see why this would ever happen.[/endsarcasm]

I did indeed encounter many errors. Here are the errors and suggestions, with pictures. (The red text in pictures was added by me.)

First Suggestion:

Another suggestion I noticed I could add after saving the picture is to allow more than 6 confirmations, perhaps up to 10 or whatever the user specifies?

Good luck with this website. I hope to see some improvements, but will probably use for a bit. Unless I don't see improvements.
25  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: December 24, 2013, 02:01:23 AM
Thank you for helping.
Should
sysvinit-tools be replaced with core/procps-ng?

Will not break something?

Quote
[minepeon@minepeon ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
 alarm is up to date
 aur is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace sysvinit-tools with core/procps-ng? [Y/n]

It didn't affect my MinePeon when I did "sudo pacman -Syu" and said yes to everything.

But yeah, you should do everything that Neil says. Roll Eyes

26  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: December 22, 2013, 08:46:30 PM
How to install Java in MinePeon distro, please?

Official way is this:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-jdk

According to this web: http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/4920

But looks like apt-get is not there.

Could you help me, please?

Is it also possible to VNC to there, please?

Thanks in advance.

Try: sudo pacman -S jre7-openjdk

Edit:

By the way, MinePeon runs on ArchLinux... not Raspbian.

Great idea! I know English writers will be fairly easy to get. But I'm up for the job.
29  Economy / Services / [WTB] 18 Compressed Vanity Addresses [UPDATED 01/29/2014] on: December 06, 2013, 12:16:30 AM
I'm in need of the below case-sensitive vanity addresses. If interested just PM me for a my part public key.

We will use an escrow service or you can give me the addresses first. I will pay any fees toward an escrow service.

I will be paying Total (~$28 USD) or Each (~$1.56 USD)

You would need to use the modified version of vanitygen found here for Linux, there is also a pre-compiled version for Linux here, or a pre-compiled version for Windows found here.

List of Vanity Address Prefixes:
8x - 1BitCoin
5x - 1CoinBox
5x - 1BTCMine

Prefix difficulty: 873388193410 1BitCoin
Prefix difficulty: 873388193410 1CoinBox
Prefix difficulty: 873388193410 1BTCMine

New: There is now a (~$7.50 USD) bonus if you happen to stumble upon an address with the prefix "1Savings" while searching for the others. However, if you do NOT find an address with the prefix "1Savings" but you can provide proof that you searched for the address you will still receive a (~$2.50 USD) bonus!

Prefix difficulty: 51529903411245 1Savings

Thanks

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the bible say about Bitcoin? on: December 05, 2013, 12:13:32 PM
It says nothing about Bitcoins, but it slags off Litecoin pretty hard.

Greed is a sin

so is usury, and the entire fiat system is founded on that

That is odd isn't it?  Usury was for centuries a great evil; suddenly it was a-ok and the churches started lending money themselves.

The Church/Vatican are a business. A great one at that.

This.

If money is the root of all evil... why do churches accept it.  Undecided
31  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coingig.com Beta - The New Bitcoin Marketplace has Arrived on: December 03, 2013, 05:34:28 PM
I first would like to say thank you for the great site. It's been a blessing in disguise, for me, that BitMit closed. I would've never found Coingig otherwise. Next is about the increase in fees from 2.5% to 5%.

I think it's important to note first that I do NOT oppose the fee increase at this time. In fact at this time I SUPPORT the fee increase! Sure this may sound odd for me to support a increase in BTC being "taken away" from my wallet. But as long as this leads to a better website with quicker feature updates I support it.

Just thought I might give my two cents worth.

I must admit most of the words in your blog post was beyond me at this point. The notion that Satoshi could've left us a message for us to see in the future gives me a thrill for some reason.

You could just use that to dynamically show how many BTC the prize is. Smiley
36  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Lucid Puppy Linux based offline wallet on: November 28, 2013, 01:26:28 PM
Just a temp fix to try:

Press Alt + F2

Type: python /usr/lib/armory/ArmoryQt.py

Press Enter

Armory should open... if it doesn't you may have installed it wrong.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello guys! A newbie here! on: November 28, 2013, 12:34:15 PM
How can i post on here... I live in USA and want to know how i can buy bitcoin..

There are many ways to buy BitCoin online.

If you prefer to do this in person, your best bet may be, http://www.localbitcoins.com/.

Or if you're familiar with IRC, you could join #bitcoin-otc on the Freenode servers.

Hope this helps,
Sammey
