Strange, I didn't yet have problems with that...
Well, if/when I finish my "poolpool"-software, this won't be an issue for me any longer anyways.
You'll finish it , its not that hard to make Check if connec problems or 0 MHash, try again if no luck go to next pool.

He was going to build in miner warnings, so turning that into a system warning for himself wont be hard. I bet the next hardware change will be flawless. I'm talking more about a system that's not on the pool server or even in the same datacenter, running nagios or some other monitoring software that allows it to make requests periodically to the pool to make sure the system is fully functional. It is not good if you have the pool server also doing the monitoring, because when it goes down it probably won't be able to send the alert I know... still assuming that making a warning system after that wont be hard. Especially since instead of requesting to the pool, he can make the pool send out still-alive packets to his on system or other server, which starts the amazing bells and whistles when no packet has been recieved in 10 minutes

Expect to use in excess of 1TB of bandwidth a month.
Bandwidth isn't a concern I have a couple GigE circuits available with 200-300mbps of spare capacity. Wondering if there was a web/PHP/MySQL setup already to run the pool or will I have to re-invent the wheel. you'll have to reinvent that wheel, though it isnt big. Its the only thing that makes every pool different. They all made their own app/program/script between bitcoind and the users.

I dont have that many idles... 5 an hour or so? What I did notice is that my estimated reward is lower... which may be because one of my external workers is offline, but its still weird...
More Ghash/s means your rewards will go down, unless you're the one adding it. I have dropped 200Mhash/s because of the disconnect and idle issues on all of my miners as well. So you have to take all of that into account. The GHash hasn't changed much... as the pool was already closed for a day or two.. Edit: Pool died? Lost connection, miner auto started connection to slush because it couldnt connect to BTCGuild

Just registered to ask 1 question eleuthria, is there a reason you don't support JSONP? You made a great API, but I want to use only javascript/ajax to get data, and JSONP would be really handy It's really easy to implement as its just one extra GET to parse. Of course it shouldnt be on top of your ToDo list, as there are more important features waiting. wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSONPBy the way, really like this pool more. The UI is really clean, all the data you need is in the right place... I love it
