21  Economy / Economics / Re: The end is near! My mum is thinking of buying Bitcoins. on: November 21, 2013, 11:05:47 PM

This from one that:  just a few days ago said that bitcoin could take over the world
          a day later :  "I'm having 2nd thoughts"
                     now:  bitcon

I agreed bitCON would likely exponentially grow in market cap into the $trillions. I still do.

It is a ponzi scheme and that is mathematically undeniable.

I hope you like paying 300% taxes and going to jail from aiding and abetting a ponzi scheme.

You're either an idiot, or a bad troll. Either way, you deserve to be ignored.

I don't understand why they even bother posting if that's how they really feel.

Back on topic, this kinda thing is fantastic. Shows how acceptable bitcoin is becoming and how quickly.

Everyone is blinded by the greed. They can't see (because their pre-frontal cortex has been turned off by the greed) they are being sucked in by the elite via Bitcoin.

Read my posts to educate yourself.

Or die. (I am not committing any violence)

It is your choice. It is a free market.

From a neuro-biologist:

Quote
Absolutely correct!  This is proven with neuroeconomic studies using PET and fMRI
scans.
I recall that subjects selecting the long term investment model used their
pre-frontal cortex and tended to be good in math. Those who were greedy and chose
instant gratification used the emotive primitive parts of their brain, i.e. limbic
system.  (I've read some of the published scientific papers on this.  Not sure if I
can find one quickly though.)
Just think of the nucleus accumbens dopamine spikes occurring on in the brains of
Bitcoin holders!  Must be like a meth hit - super big spike.
The Wiki neuroeconomics description is pretty
good:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroeconomics

I think you mean a neuroscientist Roll Eyes.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: major Senate hearing on bitcoin, watch live! on: November 19, 2013, 06:59:54 AM
Fantastic outcome IMO. Let's be honest, America and knee jerk reactions go hand in hand normally.

Old scotch & Cubans cigars - 25%

Hmmm  Grin. We need a trading pair for this.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: we just hit 550 USD on: November 18, 2013, 03:22:47 AM
The collapse is no where near. Most of the growth now is not most based on speculation but by new adapters eager to use as store of value and as currency. This were mostly chinese and most chinese love to save.  Smiley

+1

ahgg I hate to be so cliche but it's kinda true they love to bet & they love to save. Perfect mix. IMO as long as this current interest keeps up we won't see a crash for awhile.

35  Economy / Services / Re: Free Hosting for Bitcoin Websites on: November 18, 2013, 03:11:22 AM
Awesome, promoting growth in this area is swag so Kiss. Most hosting companies provide an IP they own with a 10mb, 20mb etc file for download speed testing; even just to ping.
36  Economy / Marketplace / Re: So you think you're going to start a Bitcoin business, right? on: November 18, 2013, 03:06:35 AM
This thread could also be correctly titled; So you think you're going to start a business  Roll Eyes

Good advice & an interesting read, thank you MPOE-PR.
37  Economy / Economics / The BTC Hedge on: November 18, 2013, 12:16:21 AM
I have seen the odd thread about people speculating where the best place is to hedge their money against BTC. Aside from the obvious, a wide mixture is generally always the best option. However there are of course a number of concerns, how quickly can I access and use my money, is it easy to sell into or out of my desired hedge. Some poll numbers would be nice to see peoples preferences.

Thanks,
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I purchase $100,000+ in bitcoin consistently and cheaply? on: November 17, 2013, 10:23:25 PM
Either Bitstamp or BTCE could handle the volume you require however this should obviously be done in small amounts regardless of the exchange you use. Maybe even wait for a nice looking wall and help team pump out.
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coolest thing currently being done with Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2013, 12:18:35 PM
I think the MasterCoin protocol is super awesome. It it works then bitcoin becomes more robust and demand goes up. Mastercoin is revolutionary and takes away more financial controls from the old system and decentralizes them for the people.

I'll second Mastercoin. As has been said elsewhere, it's definitely not just another altcoin. Moreover, development of the protocol is progressing rapidly, thanks to the simplicity of its design. (Full disclosure: I own some Mastercoin.)

Wow - thanks! You can't imagine how nice it is to have other people excited about this. I've been excited about it for a couple years, but I worked in solitude until very recently.

It's truly amazing how much dedication you have to work on a project single handed for such a long period of time. Without at least one other person to question my approach to a problem; I wouldn't trust myself Roll Eyes.
40  Economy / Services / Re: Coding Service - C++ , C , python and more for cheap on: November 16, 2013, 07:02:05 AM
If you barely have time to provide a proper proposal; what languages you know, what industries you have worked in etc. How on earth do you have the time to develop someones project?
